Haven't used it for quite somet time but the @ThinkOrSwim UI always impressed me. Especially with their aggressive feature rollout schedule they kept up while I was using it. #devdiscuss
I live in the e-commerce world, so I tend to get my inspiration from online shopping. (Market research, amirite?) Bellroy is by far one of my favorite online stores at the moment in terms of both UI and UX. https://t.co/DkC8iyFW1C#DevDiscuss
While we're at it - anyone know of any other frameworks like material UI or bootstrap? Seems like those two are the only ones I've seen used #DevDiscuss
I actually Buffer has a great UI. It is to the point. I can login accomplish my task and be done. Really important for UI/UX to make that happen. #devdiscuss
#devdiscuss Iβm a big fan of @rstudio Most IDEs require a lot of investment to become proficient, but rstudio is quick to pick up *and* very powerful
Apps like Things and Fantastical are great as they present the right information in the appropriate context. Apps should be designed around user behavior. #DevDiscuss
I actually, strangely, really like the TurboTax redesign from last year. They took a complicated process (filling out taxes) and boiled it down to simple yes/no answerable questions. https://t.co/rXh4QY4Z7T#devdiscuss
I agree about Siri, etc. being a great UI, but I think the major hurdle to adoption is that most people are too shy to talk to, basically, a robot, when in public. I know I definitely am... #DevDiscuss
Also, for some reason I can't quite identify, my dog is PETRIFIED of Siri. I don't know if it's the inflection I use when I speak, or if its Siri's response tone and voice... But he'll hide in the bathroom like there's a thunderstorm... #DevDiscuss

I'm thinking about calling #devdiscuss early tonight to let folks focus on #AlabamaSenateElection. Feel free to carry on the discussion, but I think the energy is elsewhere an that's perfectly fine. π
While it might get hate for saying so, I love vi's UI/UX (once you overcome the initial learning cΜΆuΜΆrΜΆvΜΆeΜΆ wall).
The composability of "count+command+motion/object" means learning one new command is means it can be applied to every motion/object I already know.
#devdiscuss
I liked vi when I was a younger man and liked things that required inside knowledge to use well. I don't get into those types of things as much anymore. #DevDiscuss
Likewise, new motion/objects apply to every command I already know. On multiple occasions, I've taken a guess at "the convention for text-objects is 'i{char}' or 'a{char}', and while I don't know if {thing} is a text object, my guess is often correct.

.@ThePracticalDev#devdiscuss for a great UI keep accessibility in mind always. My blind colleague (and programmer!) loves alt-text. pls donβt have him click on a map when choosing what state to mail something.
