A1: In class I tend to create my own resources and plan well.
We have a Speech and Language therapist who works with staff because she's only in for two half days, feels she can make more of an impact this way. #UKEdChat
I work with her. She comes in to observe my practice, picks out the positives and offers next steps. We are working on a mathematical language project for the school. #UKEdChat
A5 Yes definitely, from what I have seen not enough teachers are trained to deal with SS with SEND. Some SS can continue to be educated in a mainstream setting if more teachers were trained in this area, instead of being moved to a specialist provision. #UkEdChat

A4: I think it depends on the setting. I believe all members of SLT should have a grasp of SEND, this shouldn't be down to one person to educate others. #UkEdChat

A8: in my experience I have seen many pass this on to the SENDCO but I have met a few trainee teachers who have taken more of an interest, so maybe the culture is changing. #UkEdChat

A10: I've always researched, observed others and sought the advice of experienced SEND practitioners. Schools could provide their staff with more opportunities to see other SEND provisions or invite them in to deliver training. #UkEdChat
