#games4ed discussions cover ways in which gaming can be used in education. Games mirror the way the human mind was designed to learn. They motivate players to take risks and actions, persevere through failures, set and achieve increasingly difficult goals, and devote attention, time, and effort to acquiring knowledge and skills. All this while the game is tracking the player’s actions and assessing the player’s achievements and skills. Isn’t this what we want from education?
A1 - personally, unless the goal is for random fun (think candyland), I prefer games that you can actually improve at - so those with strategies you can learn and master. #games4ed
A2 - Too hard to learn rules (complicated). Takes too long to finish (monopoly). Easy to get stuck with no path forward (monopoly when no one trades). #games4ed
Have you looked at the @organattack game by @theawkwardyeti? Can be a good one for learning what the various organs do (and diseases and stuff that can happen to them). #games4ed

A4 - If you know (most) of the answers, trivia games make you feel smart. If you don't, they make you feel stupid. Just like designing tests is an art, so is making a good trivia ? set that keeps everyone wanting to play. #games4ed
I've had Ts in the (way :P) past that would give options - in teams the assignment was x, if you did it by yourself it was y. Doesn't help with playing games but... #games4ed
Ah, right.. Well, it is card based, so you could probably make a sticker with the translation and stick it over top.... It's just the bottom half that has text. #games4ed

Yes, a go-to strategy for both designing, using games in my ESL groups. I also adapt Taboo cards, ImagineIff, Dixit cards, Wheel of Fortune, I have/who has, others. #games4ed
A6 - This is my life - although not as a T but as an #edtech creator. :) #games4ed Challenges - making something flexible, (all T's wants something slightly different), but easy to use and effective.
A6 I created my own picture card game bec I teach adults & existing products were too young/cartoony. Production, printing, cutting, laminating, assembling... made 5-6 prototype decks. Now, software is obsolete & I have to start over. #games4ed
