Not a groundbreaking question, but I asked "what was Ramona so grumpy about?" and a few of my students who usually don't volunteer ideas had their hands up in the air, ready to talk because they connected to the character #makeitreal

A1. “Hey, you do know if you need to talk, I’m here for you right?” . After a soft yes and two hours later the Ss came back up to me to talk about what was bothering her. After sitting, listening and talking to her, she told me how she already felt better 🙌🏻🤗 #MakeItReal
A1: What did you do for others today? When we start thinking about others and how we can better serve others, we start to quickly learn it's not about me, and that's an important thing for all of us to learn! #MakeItReal
A1: In science my class is currently learning about structures. Today I showed them 50 of the best play structures in the U.S. Then I asked them, “What would the ultimate play structure look like?” They had great responses and unique ideas. #MakeItReal

A1. I asked my 1st graders what they needed from me to be successful&reach their goals. Very thoughtful, reflective answers from 6 yr olds! "Give 2nd chances", "Teach responsibly", "Have a good attitude&smile". Kids are the best teachers!! #MakeItReal

This question made my day and validated that I am making positive changes that are visible. We need to bring life, love, hope and positivity to our students (staff) everyday not matter how our day or life is going! #MakeItReal

A2: A new S asked me for a piece of bubble gum after not winning the review @GetKahoot and I said I can’t do that. She asked “Why not?” And another S said with a smile, “You have to earn it.” #MakeItReal
A2: My students worked in small groups today to design the ultimate playground. They had to brainstorm together before they started. One of my students said to their group members, “Hey guys should we make our playground so kids in wheelchairs can use it too?” #MakeItReal
A2: As we were listening to talk radio my son asked "did the president fire that guy because he breaks things?" It opened up the door for an interesting conversation about how changes happen in government...he's 6. #makeitreal

A3: "How can you use this relationship to make a difference?" We meet with a Kinder class 1/wk. My kids have taken this role as a chance to model good choices & they've done SO well. I want to encourage them to find more ways to #buildcommunity in our school. #MakeItReal
A3: What is one way you will show kindness or gratitude to someone else today? We have to get them thinking about others and help them to think about way to improve their character skills. Their EQ is just as important, if not more important than their IQ #MakeItReal

A3: #keepitreal every day I start with our “morning temperatures” and I ask if anyone wants to share anything. It sets the tone of community and inclusion for the day and kids share both happy and sad news. I hope that tomorrow it does the same!
A3: I have parent meeting tomorrow that is going to difficult for sure, I have thought and the first question I will ask that parent is, “How I can help your family?”
When students lose a family member it’s never easy for them or their parents.

A3 I have been conferencing w/ S’s to assess reading mid-year levels, I start off asking “How is 2nd grade going for you so far?” It disarms them, makes them relax like we’re just going to chat for a while #MakeItReal
A3: Decimals are all around us! Where can you find them and why are they used? I want Ss to see the importance of their learning this week by discovering it! Also I can't wait to ask one of my Ss how his mini trip was on his first day back! #MakeItReal
