I don't have any students right now, but I would use them if I did. :)
Lizzie Fragale tech coach at River Eves! Snuggling my dudes and working too
a1: Yes. I have before. I like some of the tools I appreciated.
Q1: Students have access to Sway, OneNote, Office online, OneDrive & email (to teachers). Which is biggest gamechanger & why?
Jennifer Taylor from High Point ES. I love using Office 365 with my students.
A1: OneNote to promote moving towards a paperless classroom.
A1: Has to be - There is so much for both Ts and Ss to do. It's incredible.
Onedrive. They can share documents and work from home. It greatly improves organization
Signing in from the ballfield! Ready to chat til I have to drive home!
Q1. Individual students may use a few of the apps. Edmodo is my world with my students.
OneNote for us for sure - I can think of an assignment I'm helping a teacher plan this week that would be a PERFECT example.
Q1:I would have to say All b/c It's one big effective collaborative tool with special divisions
Hannah Rome (CCES) here! Stopping by to say hello, but not able to stay the whole time.
A1 I can't decide between OneNote and Sway. Both big game changers
Hey Joining a bit late...but I am here! :)
OneNote with Class Notebook has been HUGE for some of our teachers.
I'm currently at a school w/ 1:1 Chromebooks, so we use Google Apps all the time. I need to learn more about Office365.
Leigh Martin, MBES METI in the car, not driving.
Very similar. Similar platforms. Each has their own uniqueness.
Arturo Meza Creekside High Social Studies
I appreciate the security that offers for our students. https://t.co/Lm1mA0N0t6
Very similar. Similar platforms. Each has their own uniqueness.
A1 one Note for sure for collaboration and to save trees!
A1: Used OneDrive and OneNote w/ my team, but haven't used it yet with K students. Wondering how to use it with little ones?
OneNote is really making a splash at our schools that have gone 1:1.
I will be there Monday to work with your PL team
Q2: Now that students have Office 365 accounts it eliminates… Fill in the blank. Be creative!
- Just one step at a time! :)
I rolled out and was all over it. I wish I had tinkered with Sway more before I left!
A1: OneNote offers such an amazing opportunity for PL!! Hands down the biggest game changer in my book.
a2:…aspects of limited access!
A2: BINDERS. Please say the answer is binders!
A2: having to check each iPad for Ss work.
OneNote for a student portfolio would be a good way to start.
A1- Have been paperless since october due to classnotebook
- You and can it up together! :)
A2 "I forgot my homework"
think it also has potential for organized PD and support resources. https://t.co/uthlnhIwRC
A1: OneNote offers such an amazing opportunity for PL!! Hands down the biggest game changer in my book.
- Or Ss needing to use the same iPad each time!
A2 It eliminated that brink in communication when out of the classroom and it helped eliminate paper
A2: eliminates the need for kids get together live for projects (annoying your parents) & the 'dog ate it' excuses
A2: I would think emailing issues (i.e. Emailing moms to email assignments to teachers, etc.)
Q2. Huge copier and printer expenses!
A2. We are not there yet with our school. Again, Edmodo takes care of the homework issue. I did not get a copy... etc.
Great suggestion! I've been exploring See Saw and am interested in trying online portfolios next year! https://t.co/bQkasvFqcI
OneNote for a student portfolio would be a good way to start.
- Yes! Ts would be soon much happier not living next to the copier!
A2:students developing a collaborative project w/students from other schools using Skype and other tools.
A2 - I forgot it at school or at home -- accessible from anywhere
Q3: Now that students have Office 365 accounts it makes possible… Fill in the blank with something not mentioned yet.
A2: Floppy disks! JK, seriously flash drives and saving to our already full network drives!
A2: students can communicate with other teachers by email & don't have to be together to work collaboratively on a project.
Hey! sorry all, I'm tardy for this chat party!
Q3: Make sure everyone in the group participates
stalking, and agreeing...but my wild children are wanting to play human hungry hungry hippo..google it! https://t.co/mOg6tyVCqf
- Flash drives are so cute, but so annoying to keep track of!
A3: Make sure everyone in the group participates
A3: to truly integrate technology seamlessly in the classroom.
a3: for Ss to have access! for Ss to have more tools to create!
A3: Student ownership of work, ability to collaborate, more time to proofread and revise (😍😍😍)
A3 Makes it possible to collaborate without having to be in the same location! Could have used that back when I was in school
So many good tweets can't read that fast! Btw is awesome! Thanks for tip last week
You still are in schools. ;-)
A3: Office 365 could definitely help with parent communication! Quick and easily accessed and linked to student work!
A3: real time feedback for just-in-time direct instruction
- chat life is never the same once you have . You then wonder how you ever chatted w/o it!
A3- Allows access to many tools and storage space through our their educational career
Q3 Staff sharing in the cloud... Slow to catch on. Emails go to black hole. :(
A3 students out for extended times still able to participate, collaborate and learn
A3-collaboration...collaboration...collaboration!
Collaboration is key with access to Office online. No need for Google Docs anymore!
- I love that idea. Ss can still feel connected to their class w/o being there!
What?? Did you just drop a principle of personalized learning.
Jodi jumping in late for the chat!! Hate being late to the party!!
Q4: What tips or tricks do you have about students using any of the Office 365 apps? Have you discovered anything to share?
Q3. HOPEFULLY to email them about book holds (print or electronic) and other notices AUTOMATICALLY!
had a student who wa sickwent intoNotebookcompleted the work forthe dayeven beforehis scheduledclasstime

❤️❤️One Note! https://t.co/kKqt9qJH0D
A1: OneNote offers such an amazing opportunity for PL!! Hands down the biggest game changer in my book.
Ewwww ahhhhh that's cool!
A4 in ES it helps to create some mentors for each classroom before rollout.
I discovered that HS students love OneNote and many prefer using the pen (if they have a Surface).
That's because rocks🎸🎸🎸! https://t.co/nWAl1XayNP

Q4 - Sway has better functionality online as opposed to the app
A4 start online! I didn't know that at the start of the year, and wasted hours trying to edit docs at home.
A4: Making sure students understand cloud technology/ with syncing/sharing helps for a smooth transition
A4: No tips yet, but love all the one's I've heard here.
Q4: Triple check that they are using the correct version (2013 in our case). Much easier to do right 1st time.
If you are using Class Notebook sometimes the link to notebook that gets emailed doesn't work. Get links online & give to Ss.
thanks! Love the topic tonight!
A4: have Ss always start in OneDrive and "create new" to make sure they are always aware of folders!
MS students as well. Math teachers have been some of our best adopters with this!
Always have students start their Office document online.
Need to get out to MS for some classroom visits. Been to Centennial and Alpharetta.
Great twitter chat about Office 365 and students! Tune in
Q4: Parent Lunch and Learn was very well received. Attendees were amazed at OneNote options. (Hint: nudge PTA.)
Can't wait for Microsoft classroom to add the gradebook to classnotebook
- That's a "heart be still" kind of thing. Incredible!
Next week, please do come... We'll need time to recover from testing. (Especially today - and tomorrow!)
So all these tips need to be complied somewhere. I can work on this tomorrow - anyone interested?
A2: it will eliminate the need to create multiple accounts and locations to store or share assignments https://t.co/8Ew3Lc4XSB
Q2: Now that students have Office 365 accounts it eliminates… Fill in the blank. Be creative!

A1: Sway and Google Docs are at the top of my list. The ability to work together and ease of creating https://t.co/fy4JbJDKT4
Q1: Students have access to Sway, OneNote, Office online, OneDrive & email (to teachers). Which is biggest gamechanger & why?
OneNote Learning Tools is an add-in that can be installed.
A5: You had me at the first 30 sec., my daughter has a learning difference
Q5. SpEd will be all over this..creation on Surface as well?
What about Storifying the chat? Easy that way…
A5. I love the immersive reader. Great for early childhood reading support. A different approach to sentence structure.
can control speed of stream, no typing # when reply
Yes, I believe Learning Tools add in works on Surface too.
A5: This is perfect for younger students who are not so experienced with reading, typing and managing technology!
I am knowledgeable, but not user friendly with one note, but has helped me through the process
A5: So many benefits for elementary students, ESOL, etc.
Oooh, I like that better than Read&Write.
I'm working on it with IT.
A5: Outstanding for it's intended use and other personalized learning opportunities.
I'd love immersive reader if it read math expressions correctly from word. HUGE issue MS/HS math. Read aloud iPad doesn’t work
Will do, for 7:30 to 8:30 today
Your School Tech can install the OneNote Learning Tools add-in on your laptop.
What about MicroSoft Office Lens?
Love the add-on. Can add assignments to more than 1 class @ a time. PC only https://t.co/FQakho5sfM

Q3: Now that students have Office 365 accounts it makes possible… Fill in the blank with something not mentioned yet.
Got another big announcement. Don't go away.
A6: Wish it was not a cumbersome. Google is so much more seamless and easier for me and Ss in most cases
A6: A little more intuitive, process flow with creating and sharing
Love the group and found your link interesting. Why block emails between students in Office365?
A6: Mass downloads from Onedrive
A6 Seamless flow between them rather than them be so independent. Also, more of a classrm environment for Ts to get assn. 2 Ss.
A6: can't imagine! There is so much info from this chat for me to digest. SO MUCH. Thank you everyone.
Understand the concerns about cyber-annoying+ but this hinders collaboration... emails with classmates?
We have to teach them to live in their world. We have to trust them.
I would be concerned in elementary. We already deal with many issues of parents not monitoring children tech
- I think it's a can of worms that's not quite ready to be opened just yet. Someday.
Lots of new Microsoft tools here & on the way. If u use Class Notebook make sure you have the Class Notebook add-in installed.
- Agreed! There's a lot of teaching to be done for parents in addition to students!
Email isn’t as imp as being able to collaborate on docs and presentations. They need that.
How many add-ins are there in total?
https://t.co/eY7MHUGlQO
Lots of new Microsoft tools here & on the way. If u use Class Notebook make sure you have the Class Notebook add-in installed.
Will this replace Class Notebook?
A7: Looks good! Planning on setting up OneNote for all my classes next year over the summer.
Microsoft Classroom will work in conjunction with Class Notebook.
Just a couple add-ins total. There is also Office Mix add-in for PowerPoint.
Will it be more intuitive than rest of Microsoft orwill it require a lot of PL for Ts to be proficient? https://t.co/fG2qYl5hZR
Are there any trainings available this summer for 365. Excited after told me about 365
My Ss who do hand drawing or posters take pictures of their work and turn it into the notebook, nothing to hand in, never lost
Q7. So it will sync with eSchool? Students CAN collaborate on docs? SINGLE SIGN-ON? awesome!
A4: tip don't be afraid that students may know more about tech than you! Learned tons from students https://t.co/N3SpoNnxu4
Q4: What tips or tricks do you have about students using any of the Office 365 apps? Have you discovered anything to share?
Before the chat wraps up, I want to thank for stepping up in a pinch! Needed a host 4 & she stepped up!!
Last question coming up in 2 min. Need everyone's brains for this one!
- They can draw in the notebook too, right?
- Are you applying for the team??
A6: still working through the process! https://t.co/ARyHfiGPzt
Q6: What do you wish Office 365 included or had the ability for students to do?
Q8: Working on summer PD plans for teachers to learn more about Office365. What suggestions to you have?

I am told me it would be a great way to learn amd share different tech tools for classroom
Yes, School Tech can install add-ins
A8: Need class simulations with Class Notebook
No, saw a demo in MIE training last weekend. Looks powerful, but a little complicated.
Have not tested Microsoft Classroom yet.
A8 - I would love to see real examples and demos. Realistic uses.
Agree! Teaching parents helps!
Curious to see how different/similar to Google Classroom!
Shameless plug: coaches can assist too many 2 list!

Thanks, !! I'm off to watch to learn some street skills!
Thanks Mindy! It was great! Learned a lot, as usual.
This with the integration with the notebook has so much potential
Q8: DIFFERENTIATED learning, just like with kids. Proficiency pre-test, then group for comfort/stretch level.
Q8: What kind of PD should we offer this summer for Office 365? Virtual, F2F, webinars etc. Ideas for sessions?
A8: I suggest there be a variety of platforms available participants to select...ie. Face to face or blended
Thank you everyone for joining. Have a great night. I'm going to hang out for a few more minutes.
I may have missed it, but will 365 upload assigned classes or do I need to create?
Yes! https://t.co/gulbPdkXcc
Q8: DIFFERENTIATED learning, just like with kids. Proficiency pre-test, then group for comfort/stretch level.
A8: A little of all if possible. I think it's important for Ts to learn. It is such a great tool in the classroom.
