Welcome to #21stedchat Tonight is open mic night for you to ask any questions you want answers to. @Edu_Thompson and I welcome you. Please intro yourselves.
I like to put teachers through activities that make them feel like kids again. That’s #jonstyle according to @FelecityTreptow Teachers don’t know what it’s like to be a kid anymore. So, I try to make them feel like a kid. It’s tough. #21stedchat
A2: I think the best way to engage them is provide them with meaningful activities and learning. I also think we need to stop putting kids in boxes. Our goal should be to see what kids know, not make them conform to what we think demonstrates learning. #21stedchat
A2. I love using this site as a resource to helping students with attention issues as often times its due to executive function. #21stedchathttps://t.co/ttd2VgYBM3
A4: My school is pretty homogenous or as my wife puts it "pale". But when I have exchange or EL students I try to bring content from their cultures. #21stedchat
Just to reiterate.
Q4: How do you build a culturally responsive classroom?
Q5: what is something that you learned about this summer that you are going to use this year?

A3: Compile Class Contract with students to discuss what we will do this year in this subject as well as the expectations and get their parents signatures.
A5 - This summer I learned about StoryBird, a website where students use pre-designed art to create their own online picture books. Super cool!
