A1 this is an incredible question! I obviously have to use a Leslie Knope GIF (my fictional hero)
This year was a little crazy but overall a crazy fun mess! #MOedchat
A2) I have loved my postcard unit. I gave the Ss assessment choices, one choice was to write postcards in the language they were studied, then I mailed them! I love the responses! From the postcard receivers and from my students. #moedchat

#moedchat A2: for math class we planned a trip to Disney and I dressed the part. For science we got to Skype with a Yellowstone Park Ranger again and lots of fun #stem projects and #makerspace time. So much fun!
#moedchat A2 Several. First having Mr Philo Barnhart & Mr Charles Moisant visit our school. Mr Barnhart is the creator of Ariel from The Little Mermaid and has worked on other Disney animations. Great opportunity for our students to learn art and creativity.
#moedchat A2 Having the opportunity for our students to speak with John Stamos. He spoke in our History of Rock and Roll class. Spoke of his role with The Beach Boys. Students were engaged and ask questions.

A3 I asked our art club and art students to create uplifting murals and messages to paint on our walls. It was a great addition to our building and a great way to give students a voice #Moedchat
#moedchat A3: passion projects. Students picked their own topic and I was amazed at the kids who don't take an interest in much how they really blossomed. Also will never forget a sweet boy sharing with his peers about the struggles of his special needs brother.
#moedchat A3 We believe strongly in civic engagement. Both of our Indiana US Senators, Todd Young and Joe Donnelly, engaged with our students in a question and answer session. Important for students to know and question their leaders.
A3 I think I motivated seniors in my College Readiness class to look at more opportunities open to them for education after high school. Spread your wings and think about what you really want to do! . #moedchat
A3: classroom jobs! I was skeptical of this in a MS classroom so I didn’t try it last year. I tried this year and it went great! I knew that when I was out of the building my classroom was functioning properly. It gave Ss responsibility and taught them accountability #moedchat
#moedchat A3 Also participated in two cultural conversations. Our sociology class spoke with a class in Argentina 🇦🇷 over the issue of gender inequality & our CE class discussed current issues with a class from Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽.
A3 Started developing a broadcast club at our high school and got a grant to start a film club and a news club next year. Really getting pumped for what our students will get to show off with this. #moedchat
A5) this is simple and most of my Google Friend would know this but Bookmarking within a document, so my students can refer back to information. Saved me from repeating directions, again and again and again and again #moedchat
I always give kids a full class period to play around with a new tool before we do anything with it, saves instructional time in the long run #moedchat
#moedchat A4 Biggest aha moment was actually witnessing a sweet young student of mine go through depression and being reminded that curriculum, standards, and assessments are NOT the most important things I do and teach.
A4: Students just want to connect and feel like they are being heard. The Monday Lunch Bunch reminds me that they are just 9 year-olds with pretty complicated lives outside of school. #Moedchat
#moedchat A4 I have two girls in two different classes that were really quiet and said almost nothing. Last week one came up to tell me she was pregnant and it was a high risk pregnancy. The other told me she was in court filing a restraining order against her mom.

I told my students on day one.. I don't accept less than my best..and you will accept nothing less than your best! I told them "we win, we don't whine."
Our class motto..with ten days left is a hastag.. #WeAintDone
A3 After studying #medialiteracy Ss used graphic design skills to create grade level appropriate posters to help raise awareness of #medialiteracy questions & skills. They were hung around school. Loved their work & the conversation the posters inspired. #moedchat
A4 for me it was at the MOASSP spring conf and listening to The Principal at Rockwood Summit talk about create a new mission and vision in their building #Moedchat
A4 calling/emailing a parent for help with their child can be a million times for effective than “writing someone up” I’ve had so many positive experiences with that #moedchat
A3: Various team building activities to accomplish common goals. Transition to finding issues that students care about and partnering with others to take action #moedchat
When I was a classroom teacher, we always found a reason/cause to write our elected officials. Interesting to see who responded and if they personalized the response or if it was canned. #moedchat
A5: passion projects that were not graded. At all. The kids still did them. One boy did 3 separate presentations because he had so much he wanted to share! #moedchat
#moedchat A3 We believe strongly in civic engagement. Both of our Indiana US Senators, Todd Young and Joe Donnelly, engaged with our students in a question and answer session. Important for students to know and question their leaders.

A5 I was worried about letting my elementary kids work on 3D design, but they ended up blowing my mind with their creations. I blew through 3 rolls of filament on them on our 3D printer! Goes to show you can't assume little ones aren't capable. #moedchat
A5: I don’t feel art is my strong-suit, but I love the art teacher blogs out there. I feel so comfortable teaching because of their expertise! #moedchat
A5: The entire year. But for our basketball team we did very well after sustaining major injuries and overcame a lot of adversity. It was very rewarding and enjoyable 💯 #moedchat
A5)
Test scores! @READ180
I'm telling y'all.. If you invest in those kids others haven't- you get some Rockstar results. If you have kids failing in your class-That's a problem..for everyone! If you have to make an excuse- you are NOT doing whatever it takes for kids!
#moedchat
A5: The number of Ts who said "bring it" this year! We introduced so many new initiatives this year- 1:1, Canvas, new blended learning expectations, deeper dives into standards. #moedchat
Well, this happened today. Had middle school take a survey reflecting on our Makerspace Wednesday rotation. Got this response that remind me of @awall777 Thinking there is a song/t-shirt or poster in there somewhere: "We need more Raspberry Pi." #moedchat
A6: The expressions and reactions of students who presented & who were in the audience for VERY powerful @geniushour#capstonepresentations over their passions #moedchat
A6. A student returned to school after dropping out. Enrolled and met graduation requirements. Asked why and she pointed at me and said because I made that man a promise. #moedchat
A6 it’s several moments really. When I have the opportunity to give out positive referrals in my office that teachers have written for kids that aren’t recognized often. Their joy is so special #Moedchat
A6 Just about any day where my Ss are presenting their work. Love when students are proud of what they've done and are able to share with the world. #moedchat
A2: PBL with another colleague and her class on our annual Latino Baile. This fundraiser project surpassed our expectations. We had more EL parents involved, more administrators and non EL students attend. We exceeded last year's $$ mark. #moedchat
A6 two days ago when I drew a giant diagram of radiation/convection/conduction and I heard a kid say “oh my gosh it all makes sense. How did you do that???” I saw the lightbulb go off #moedchat

A3: This semester I introduces weekley Spanish songs activities. Each S listened to new Spanish artist and did some vocabulary activity. What I loved was Ss telling me that they downloaded the song/s and shared songs with friends and family. #moedchat
A6: Lots of great moments. I hope each year brings more and more fun and engagement and that I keep the passion for teaching that I rediscovered this year. I adjusted my lenses to refocus on what really matters and work hard to steer clear of what doesn't. #moedchat
Nice!!
I told a kid I'd play him for #bragginrights if he crushed his @READ180 EOY test... Up 474 points...since December... I hate when I dig myself into a hold of succeed ha
