#TeacherFriends I'm a music-lady, author/illustrator of picture books. It has been an amazing week of presentations.
Set a new record with two presentations in a morning, to 1000 smiling faces. USC Upstate, Sumter SC! I also got to 'lecture' to the ECE college students.
I am so fortunate to meet our #TeacherFriends on their home turf! This is our guest tonight and weekly moderator here, the incredibly capable Kristen! @fuzzlady77 knows how to orchestrate an author visit!

#TeacherFriends This was the first group to arrive for our concert #author presentation yesterday. The purple kiddos arrived about 25 minutes before we were scheduled to start, so I had plenty of time to get them warmed up!

#TeacherFriends A1: #1 app for me is @Seesaw . So versatile, and easy to link up with families. Easy learning curve for parents and students. Use it daily for lit and math.
#teacherfriends I have lots of fav Literacy and Math apps, so it was hard to narrow it down, but I'll share some of my favorites with you! Most of them are free or very low cost too!
#TeacherFriends I LUV'd seeing the app: BigWords in use in a Photo Booth, "I'm Wonderful Because" .... as a component of a group collaboration in response to my book, "You're Wonderful."

We love Moose Math. We also love Pink Cat Games, but it's not an app. It's a TPT resources with all kinds of games. Well worth the year subscription #TeacherFriends

I used it w/my after school club. Ss created biography projects, animal projects, etc with it. It is just super easy to create and then put them all together in one book

#teacherfriends My Ss Kindergarten students love that they can Air Drop me their work when they are done! I can quickly check for understanding and have them correct their work as needed!

#teacherfriends The Geoboard app is great for helping Ss to make shapes, a circular geoboard is also included! We make t-charts on the board and sort shapes.
#TeacherFriends A2: Garden Lab is an app we use when studying the life cycle of a flower. Students role play, then write about what we have learned. It is a great sequencing tool (.99)
#teacherfriends The Number Line app from the Learning Center is wonderful for helping my student learn to add and subtract. They can see how when adding we move forward and when subtracting we move backwards on the number line. Its a FREE one!!
Q1 and 2 we have several links to website on our school website. We also use Reading Eggs but recent changes to the program have made it difficult to use. #TeacherFriends

Ohhhh, girl! You will love it. It has Math, SS, and Lang Arts. Kids complete tasks & earn coins. They can spend their coins to dress their character. The free version is sweet too

#teacherfriends My students love using our Ozobots! They create patterns in the app that the Ozobot will follow and watch their pattern come to life. A perfect connection to math!
#TeacherFriends When you purchase an app for use in your room, are you purchasing it personally (out of your own pocket) or do you have a budget for such purchases? Just curious.
#teacherfriends We do lots of our addition and subtraction practice in our @nearpod app as well. I can see all my students responses quickly and give them immediate feedback or have them try again.
#TeacherFriends - My former school had a budget. Ts would request and as tech coach, I would purchase. Managed iPads & apps on @meraki and it was awesome

We are able to ask for apps to be added to our iPads. There's a budget, but if there's still money and we can share an apps purpose, we can usually get it installed. #teacherfriends

#TeacherFriends We use free apps @KweezleQueen , and I purchase ones I really want! Our district is not into iPads. We are using Chromebooks and hope to have more Android devices and apps that are comparable to Apple. It is a tall order, however.

#teacherfriends My #1 hands-down fav app is Apple Classroom! I can monitor all my Ss iPad use at once and guide them to certain apps. I can also lock them out of app use so I can have their full attention.

A3: I would definitely say @Seesaw ! The app is very user friendly (even in kindergarten) and the kids love to show what they know!!! Here we taught each other what we learned about George Washington. 😀#TeacherFriends

#TeacherFriends@Seesaw has a few good tutorials We do it to a point, but I would like to see them update and make improvement more quickly. The drawing tool that allows recording doesn't work on Android. My kids love to narrate/annotate their work!
A4: Favorite Free apps are @Seesaw and @Buncee. We use Seesaw on our iPads, but they can be used on Laptops and Chromebooks. Seesaw is a great communication tool for parents and teachers. #teacherfriends

#teacherfriends PicCollage is an AMAZING resource for making collages so my Ss can share several examples and demonstrate their understanding. In this pic, my Ss are hunting for letter J's to create their J collage. Great beginning of year activity!
#TeacherFriends A5: B.O.Y., we rotate until the entire group has used alphabet and lit apps during center time. As we get small groups going and centers smooth out, I assign groups to specific days to work on iPads or student station apps. This is how we do it the rest of year.
#teacherfriends We also use @PicCollage to create shape and number collages. Students save them to their libraries, we print them out and we have a new shape or number wall to access!
#teacherfriends we used a blended learning format in my K classroom, Ss do some work with hands-on manipulatives and some work on their iPads or a combination of both.
#teacherfriends Storage is half the battle! My Ss each have a sticker on the back of their iPad that corresponds with the number in the cart where their iPad lives.
A5: small group, blended. Don’t just use it as a worksheet. Make it meaningful, interactive, engaging. Also, let kids teach you apps you don’t know! #TeacherFriends

At the BOY we just take a little time and explore the Ipad and Computers and just play with them. I think the kids know more about the apps than I do. #TeacherFriends

We started using a simple QR code app (to scan QR story codes). Once my kiddos had a good grasp on opening and using this simple app (and using camera to scan), we expanded to other apps! All apps are in folders so they know where to work!! #TeacherFriends
