OK our admin got the staff meeting thing down: We always do them during school hours:) They are in form of Mini Meetings for the first half of everyone's prep. It's work for the Admin to repeat all day but we kinda like it:)

We don't have staff meetings. We have once a week PD sessions & if we need to discuss something we do it there. But it's rare - most "staff meeting" info can be sent in an email or shared on our staff Whatsapp group.

We have PD Mondays every week. Department, staff, and time to work on our own PD personalized projects two afternoons per month. So an even division of time for housekeeping, curriculum and assessment, and personalized PD #BFC530
I worked in a school where we had to go in on Wed evening for our staff meeting. Then the principal would read to us. I can guarantee you that did nothing for staff morale! I try to make sure meetings are never a waste of Ts' time.

It was started to just say they could keep teachers after school no more than 5/month for meetings PPTS etc. It was never used. Then about 6 years ago it began to be enforced. It isn’t always a meeting..sometimes we are told team mtg, admin work, goals, etc #bfc530

Brevity, purpose, highlight info that can be sent in an email but don’t talk about info that can be read in a email. Allow honest discussion b/c sometimes I think ppl believe we are “all on board” with something where we are not. #bfc530

This year I have begun disseminating information that is normally given out during a staff meeting though email. Our monthly staff meeting has now become a faculty led PD. Each month one or two of my teachers lead us in a PD. Empowering them and distributing leadership. #BFC530
Staff morale is so important & underrated. Thankful for admins who recognize this where I teach now. My 1st job I had an admin who enjoyed mtgs to display his authority over us. Talk about morale killer #bfc530
