PL may take place with a student who wants to use an abacus or slide rule and they can excel at it. Others may choose to use a mobile device. The personalization is what makes it engaging for the student. #BetterTogetherCA

A3: In my art class we cover certain elements of design etc. I let the students choose how they would like to express what they have learned. Could be visual, painting, mixed media, electronic, video, performance, etc. They choose their path with guidance. #BetterTogetherCA

I find textbooks useful for providing short stories, articles, poetry, etc. - I usually use my own activities with them, though - the study questions in textbooks get stale pretty quickly #BetterTogetherCA

A4: We clustered 5/6 & 7/8 into two middle school groups. Went to a partial full day block schedule (some days split). I do math & science. It has drawbacks but overall it’s good. Team approach. There’s more of me to go around. #BetterTogetherCA

A4 Here is where a set rotation schedule and having tech is so helpful. Ss can be working on personalized learning work while Ts check in with groups and circulate to check in with everyone. I still don't have it down but when it is working well it rocks! #BetterTogetherCA

PL allows students to choose interests in STEM. They form teams based on their passion, prepare information & share it with authentic audiences. Robotics team members take robots home to create and innovate. Pollinators learn about birds & bees! #BetterTogetherCA
