Q2 What was a favorite thing you did or accomplished this summer?

A2 I have been working on my superintendent endorsement, and I’ll be done this summer! Over 12 credits just this summer.

Yes, I am taking an intensive two week 4 credit PD course .

A2 My favorite part of this summer is when I took a vacation and accomplished nothing.

A2. I hiked across Denali National Park....And I started the UAS Supt emdorsement program.

Q3 What is one last thing that you want to do for yourself or your family before school starts?

Oh my gosh, I'm surrounded by superintendents!

It was a pleasure to be a part of your cohort. This is a great group of professionals.

A3 I need to pressure wash the outside of my house, but I really just want to take a day hike with my family and do some fishing.

A3 Professionally I think we need to think of ways to get more people on Akedchat. Rural schools? Cities?

Q4 is a grassroots group. How can we get more participation?

I also think we should work to offer diverse topics and occational superstar guest moderators, like that new commissioner guy.

A4, well we could leverage this superintendent program to get the word out to districts from a top down perspective

I would be interested to see the numbers on how many rural Alaskan educators use Twitter.

A4 I promoted it to my cohort classmates. I’ve talked about it with other board members.

I am proof of supt program leverage.

A4 Ironically I thinking tweeting about it may be less effective. We need personal connections and to talk face to face to connect

A4 I think we need recruit the teacher groups that often feel voiceless and marginalized, the ones whose jobs are first to go

Q5 We also need moderators. What are you interested in? What topic could you moderate?

I like that idea. This is a great platform for people who don’t feel connected in other ways.

A5 A commissioner, state level exe office, legislator on an ed committee, teachers of the year, notable bloggers, and us
