  • SdNealWayne Apr 17 @ 8:05 PM EDT
A1: The best advice I have received is to make sure that you find balance between work and home. Teaching can be an endless job-set limits. #wearewayne
  • Miss_Wineland Apr 17 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: I was told to celebrate the little victories by my Title RT, Heather Warner. Progress is progress! #wearewayne
    In reply to @Mrs__Nicholls
  • jfryeOU Apr 17 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: Best advice was relationships first! Taking time to build relationships with students, teammates, colleagues, and parents is imperative for success! (Came from twitter-less grandfather, who is a retired principal!) #wearewayne
  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: Relationships matter. Kids remember how you treat them. #WeAreWayne
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: “If a question is important enough to ask, all students should get to answer it!” - Bonnie Bishop. Instead of only calling on 1 student at a time, I learned to implement ways to hear from all my students. #WeAreWayne
  • jfryeOU Apr 17 @ 8:07 PM EDT
This was my second best piece of advice! It's so hard to turn it off, but you need to or you will be DRAINED! #wearewayne
    In reply to @SdNealWayne
  • Mrs__Nicholls Apr 17 @ 8:07 PM EDT
You do that so well! Glad you are part of our team! #wearewayne

  • teachforthewin Apr 17 @ 8:10 PM EDT
Hi #wearewayne! Sorry I'm late. Amanda Moore, 4th grade @CWECHAMP. A1: The best advice I've been given- Ts don't have to do everything right the first time. Ts are learners, just like their Ss. It's good to take risks!
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:11 PM EDT
A2: Never neglect the power of a smile attached to your words! #WeAreWayne
  • jfryeOU Apr 17 @ 8:11 PM EDT
A2: Besides forming relationships, I would suggest always being willing to grow. Soak up every little bit of knowledge that comes your way and know that everyday you will learn something new, if you are open to it, from day 1 to year 35! #wearewayne
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:11 PM EDT
A2: Don’t be scared to try new things #growthmindset #WeAreWayne
  • SdNealWayne Apr 17 @ 8:11 PM EDT

  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:12 PM EDT
A2: Do more listening than talking. #WeAreWayne
  • marymhendricks Apr 17 @ 8:12 PM EDT
A2: Be over prepared. Always better to be safe than sorry! Plan ahead! #wearewayne
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A2: Plan your objective first, and make sure everything you do in the lesson supports that. #WeAreWayne
  • BoHill24 Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A2: There are many ups and downs throughout the school year. As time passes the highs and lows are not as extreme. Build relationships with all stakeholders. Enjoy the job! #WeAreWayne
  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A2: Be authentic and be you. You don’t have to be funny if you aren’t funny. You can smile before Christmas if that’s who you are. Don’t be caught up in being someone you’re not. It’s exhausting. #WeAreWayne
  • Mrs__Nicholls Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
Great advice! I think that can be difficult at times, lol! #wearewayne
    In reply to @missymom15
  • Miss_Wineland Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A2: If I could give my Day 1 self from my day 150-something self, I would say it’s okay that you don’t know everything! No one expects you to! Also don’t be afraid to ask Qs. #wearewayne
    In reply to @Mrs__Nicholls
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A2: Don’t let the clock end your lessons, plan for Lesson Closure. What you plan for, gets done! #WeAreWayne
  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:14 PM EDT
A2: Find like-minded people and be willing to learn. #WeAreWayne
  • teachforthewin Apr 17 @ 8:14 PM EDT
A2: A positive relationship with every student is key! They may not remember what you did for them, but they will remember how you made them feel! #wearewayne
  • Mrs__Nicholls Apr 17 @ 8:15 PM EDT
Q3: We are fortunate to have Instructional coaches in our district to support teachers, but how else do you support each other in your Building/School? #WeAreWayne
  • jclambert33 Apr 17 @ 8:17 PM EDT
A3: Building relationships with each other, showing up when in need, offering support and someone to listen too 🌟🌟#WeAreWayne
    • Mrs__Nicholls Apr 17 @ 8:15 PM EDT

  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:17 PM EDT
A3: Find your niche and be available. Be willing to spend time helping people and ask nothing in return. #WeAreWayne
  • Miss_Wineland Apr 17 @ 8:17 PM EDT
A3: I need to talk things out so I’ve found my people that let me talk out a problem and give me ways to tweak it. Be a sounding board for your peers! #wearewayne

  • teachforthewin Apr 17 @ 8:18 PM EDT
@CWECHAMP has an anonymous staff member who leaves encouraging notes in staff mailboxes every now and then. Such a simple act can mean so much! #wearewayne
  • jfryeOU Apr 17 @ 8:18 PM EDT
A3: Although @SdNealWayne is AMAZING....I am also fortunate to be on a team that is constantly sharing out ideas, works together to make each other’s jobs easier, and generally just enjoys being around one another! #wearewayne
  • BoHill24 Apr 17 @ 8:18 PM EDT
Keep the door open đŸšȘ #WeAreWayne
  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:18 PM EDT
A3: Spend time getting to know students from other classrooms. Sometimes those relationships can make a big difference! #WeAreWayne
  • Mrs__Nicholls Apr 17 @ 8:19 PM EDT
That is awesome! Such a great idea! #wearewayne

Q4: What benefits do you see for Ss when Teachers support Teachers? #WeAreWayne
  • SdNealWayne Apr 17 @ 8:20 PM EDT
A3: Laugh! We have really challenging jobs and just having people to share a laugh or a smile makes all the difference. #wearewayne
  • micheeaton - Moderator Apr 17 @ 8:21 PM EDT

  • ryanstroud Apr 17 @ 8:22 PM EDT
A4: When you have support, you have solutions. Knowing you’re not alone is huge! #WeAreWayne
  • missymom15 Apr 17 @ 8:22 PM EDT
A4: Great ideas spread through a school when teachers SHARE what they are doing, and ask questions about WHAT others are doing and HOW they do it! #WeAreWayne #WeGetBetterTogether
  • Miss_Wineland Apr 17 @ 8:23 PM EDT
A4: When Ts support each other the Ss can feel it! They know that school is a safe place to fail not because Ts say so, but because Ts live it! #wearewayne
    In reply to @Mrs__Nicholls
  • jfryeOU Apr 17 @ 8:23 PM EDT
A4: Not enough characters to list! Improved school culture, positive models for our students, happier classrooms, better instruction/classroom activities, etc, etc, etc!!!! #wearewayne
  • teachforthewin Apr 17 @ 8:23 PM EDT
A4: I think Ts naturally have more positive relationships when they are supporting one another. Ss benefit from seeing positive working relationships modeled. Ss also benefit from collaborative planning. #wearewayne
  • jclambert33 Apr 17 @ 8:24 PM EDT
A4: Our scholars see positive modeling of healthy relationships, they also see an environment filled with trust, in return they model the same to each other #WeAreWayne
  • micheeaton - Moderator Apr 17 @ 8:24 PM EDT
Plus, get two people together with crazy ideas and magic happens!! 😉 #wearewayne
