This sounds like a lot of fun to me as well. =)
-
-
Please tell me there is a house cup involved!!!

I as thinking Hogwarts based theme, so much can be incorporated
-
I thought you both were moving to my school? joins forces together!
-
Hi I have designed reading quests for Knights, Titans, and wizards based on close reading strategies
-
A1 - love how words like "quest" and "battle" don't feel forced when you use a fantasy theme.
-
it is a crime how excited I am for it. Finishing 1st yr long game. This theme's gonna allow me to unleash so much fun!
-
A2: Notes/presentations could be become "lore" or "legends"
-
I did a Hogwarts theme, sorted the Ss and had house competitions. Took on a life of its own. https://t.co/lKlXbLraTa

This is what I am pumped for as well!
-
In ELA I can do things w/mythology and fantasy genre for theme based side quests & challenges
-
LOL!!! I've imagined an entirely gasified school. Can you imagine?!
-
Potions could allow you to do things like "complete a __ + a __ to gain _______." Interesting.
-
I do want to do this. Awesome idea. Notebooks can be filled w/potions, spells, and more https://t.co/YlNN9qRN2f
-
-
A2: Notes/presentations could be become "lore" or "legends"

Big fan of making combo items and power ups that build on each other.
-

I'm thinking crime story to go with my mystery theme for one of my classes. Worried that the class size might be too small
-
Hey Ryan! Glad to see you here. Looking forward to hanging out this summer for some BREW PD
-
-
A2 Fantasy themes can lend so much to games when factual content is necessary. Spells, potions, types of dragons,
-
-
-
Mike from MD just hanging around while iMovie is on an adventure of its own.
-
A2: Time Turner powers to travel back in time to gain new knowledge or advantages
-
Maybe adaptable to fantasy theme, but I would love to somehow have changing social deduction roles throughout a whole course.
-
A3: Has to be said… ZOMBIE theme with a virus that has infected all but your small band of Ss. Must find our way to the med center.
-
A1: here's an outline for Adrian's fantasy game (with some futurism mixed in). This inspired my own gamification journey.
-
A3. Help! Your being devoured by a student eating virus. You can't outrun it. What do you do?
-
I know my Ss will have to earn and pick their wizard qualities. These strengths/weaknesses will come into play later
-
A3: This is perfect for geography and surviving a pandemic based on what you know about geography.
-
-
me too. I too get a feeling it will just explode with ideas, fun and ideas!!!
-
A3: seems perfect for a biology class with a focus on cells, viruses and living things in general.
-
Glad you said it. Flesh eating zombies with putrice is a must.
-
YES you could also include different types of tools needed to survive based on resources available in that environment
-
gasified...that was a classy tweet!
-
-
I did Jurassic World with cells this year but zombies would be great! https://t.co/z6sc5QEcPk
-
-
A3: seems perfect for a biology class with a focus on cells, viruses and living things in general.
-
That would be great! They could scavenge tools from an abandoned warehouse.
-
Never too small. Add a competing or collaborating group in a diff class or somewhere in world
-
-
I've been working on creating an adventure like this for my history Choose Your Own Adventures.
-
I have a super small class. It's all possible. Small class might just mean individuals vs. teams.
-
A3: Build and program a robot that uses a game controller to have the robot collect materials needed to create a cure for the virus.
-
Love the idea of Choose Your On Adventures. Endless possibilities and chances to keep game fresh
-
You are all just AMAZING! Q4 coming up in 2 minutes!

-
No wonder why "awesome" is in your twitter handle! YOU ROCK!!
-
A3 It started with the prepackaged lunches. They are going after the Ss!
-
Sorry gotta bow out early, sick kiddo tonight! Catch up on the archives and will see some of you soon at

Ss are IN LOVE with the Walking Dead this would be an instant winner! https://t.co/sDkw59gSzH
-
-
A3: could also be an evolving apocalyptic story line. First just human survival and then different challenges pop up...akaZombies
-
My Ss are creating theirs in Google Forms now.
-
A4: Tough when it's reality, words like Report sound awesome in a scifi movie. Less so in a scifi classroom. Maybe Mission Report?
-
-
A4: Research Lab item: allows you to develop different vaccines… These allow you to break certain class rules. Hard to develop though
-
A4: I feel like you could have a whole list of different types of cures that could be used to gain XP or advantages
-
A4: Survival challenges would fit great into this theme.
-
A4: Students could have to do knowledge scans or mind scans to see if they have been infected…
-
A4: One of my fav things to do is use sound effects during games. Sticks breaking for someone approaching, low growls.
-
A4-hydroponics. Even in apocalypse we need to eat.
-
I never even thought about sound effects. YES. This chat always brings amazing ideas & gets those gears turning!
-
your too sweet!! I believe that strongly in the power of gamification and I want to spread it and inspire any way I can!!
-
A4: All sounds would be a key to do different tasks. Worked well with Jurassic. Ss become highly attentive and listen well.
-
A4: CDC Announcements could be how you show your new quests or medical missions for your students.
-
I may have to pick your brain, I teach Ss w/special needs. https://t.co/itiV3wFS9Z
-
-
I have a super small class. It's all possible. Small class might just mean individuals vs. teams.
-
Wow...time flies! Q5 coming in 2 minutes!
-
A4: You could have a bit of a Doctors with out Boards theme with this one…
-
A4: Sound effects are even cooler when they come out of hidden bluetooth speakers under the desks!
-
But must know DR or Scientist before you discover cure.
-
A5) I find the teacher as the villain v students always brings collaboration between Ss competitors
-
-
We did this with a PD game I did for teachers Announcements broke in at lunch and started quests. Teachers ran like crazy!
-
-
-
I have mine hidden in bookcases around the room. Ss have no idea where they are! LOVE IT!! https://t.co/WAOjwa69y9

-
Librarian as secret weapon?
-
A5: New world explorers / Under water explorers / Marco Polo
-
scroll back on the feed. There were some fantastic ideas shared!!

-
A5: I feel you need to rock out the Movie Up scenario where Ss could earn Wilderness Explorer Badges

-
Love the idea of forming a new colony... First Q getting there... 2nd Q starting colony. 3 Q exploring the area 4 Q survive & thrive
-
I'm ok with a journalist discovering it too. Slight handicap as it's not first hand research
-
-
-
A5: Chart your course on a map and create an adventure through writing, storytelling, history...
-
YES!!!!!! Makes me want to read some over the summer!
-
A6: Travel-logs for various written assignments. I use "mission run down" for conclusions.
-
A6: I like having Ss choose their supplies as they head out on a mission. Really have to strategize. Oxygen tanks to extend time.
-
Trying to get iMovie to get rid of background noise and conversation.
-
A6: Rocking out a Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego review game. Where Ss run to label things/places/discoveries based on clues.
-

Ss could make rockets to explore space or boats to explore new lands or underwater depending on what path of exploration they chose.
