Q2. Do you currently have a #wellness program in your district for #K12Talent. Is this program open to all staff? Do you love it or does it need improvement?
A2: I am new to my district and we don’t have a #wellness program. I am looking forward to seeing (and stealing! 😊) what others are doing in their districts. #K12Talent
A2. We just joined a co-op and there's a wellness plan included in our plans. It is open to all staff who take insurance. We haven't experienced it yet, so I can't determine whether I love it yet (but I'm hopeful). #K12talent
A2. My husbands #wellness program is through the insurance company. It is open to all full time employees and those family who are on the plan. As a participant we love it. #K12Talent
Q3. We have a #wellness program through our insurance co-op which is administrated by them. It's so new that I can't really share the pros and cons yet. #K12talent
A3: I was part of administrating a plan in a previous life. It was difficult to get folks excited about the program, but everyone loved it when incentives came out. #K12Talent Con-coming up with the different challenges that you could track
A3: I feel like it was easy to run walking wellness challenges and challenges for eating veggies for 5 days a week. But it was time to expand #K12Talent
A4: The expense to the district is TIME put into the #wellness plan by the director or person who has been appointed. They are responsible to submitting the data/motivating the participants. Especially if there is a $ benefit to the district for having the program #K12Talent
A4: The district get's a bid discount for enrolled participants typically so that is motivation but the time commitment is usually bigger than what you expect from the person put in charge of the #wellness program #K12Talent
A5: We have done walking, meditation, writing in a journal (hard to track), my favorite was listening to music for 10 minutes a day, watch training video's on diabetes, take tests on #wellness topics #K12Talent
A6: So not much. We had to watch a few video's or read an article on depression etc. and take a quiz. You get points for every quiz. Not much on "activities" or challenges #K12Talent
A6: U would hope a good #wellness program would definitely include mental health support. There r so many people who need help & have trouble finding resources. #K12Talent
