Q1: As we turn the calendar to May, many schools are entering the final stretch. What are you doing to keep a focus on learning? #APChat

A1: Important that we keep having learning conversations, not summer ones. Not an easy task, but keep a focus on the work at hand. #APChat
  • Miller_Taylor6 Apr 29 @ 8:07 PM EDT
As a student I schedule a lot of my time out to remain organized and continue to learn and achieve my goals in the classroom. #APchat

Not always an easy task, particularly this time of year #APChat

Q2: What can we do to assist teachers in keeping a learning focus for the end of the year? #APChat
  • Miller_Taylor6 Apr 29 @ 8:16 PM EDT
I think the best way to have a learning focus is to create engaging material that promotes learning. I think acknowledging the fact that summer is coming is appropriate but it needs to be emphasized that there is still work to be done. #Apchat
  • AP_Renner Apr 29 @ 8:16 PM EDT
A2: Continue to publicly celebrate the great things that are going on in the building and highlighting the high levels of rigor that I see in the classrooms on a daily basis. #apchat
  • jcwastler - Moderator Apr 29 @ 8:20 PM EDT
A2: It goes to conversations. Talk about learning, not July. Encourage continual engagement and not countdown calendars. #APChat
  • jcwastler - Moderator Apr 29 @ 8:25 PM EDT
Q3: How can we use celebrations to encourage the end of the year to motivate our next year? #APChat
  • Miller_Taylor6 Apr 29 @ 8:28 PM EDT
I think celebrating success motivates us to do more. The celebration of the hard work put in at the end of the year would promote even more success for the next year. #APchat
  • AP_Renner Apr 29 @ 8:29 PM EDT
A3: Celebrations are great. They help us to realize the impact we are having and that is very motivating. I like to push however for not just celebrating, but focusing on the adult actions that led to success. That way it can be replicated by others! #APChat
  • jcwastler - Moderator Apr 29 @ 8:31 PM EDT
Great perspective! It reminds us of the unseen that results in the seen. #APChat

  • jcwastler - Moderator Apr 29 @ 8:31 PM EDT
Q4: How do you balance all the needs (testing, scheduling, etc.) of closing out the year without losing sight of our ultimate goal of learning? #APChat
  • AP_Renner Apr 29 @ 8:34 PM EDT
A5: When there is a change of leadership people tend to expect a degree of change. This is a fantastic opportunity to energize the stakeholders and bring about a positive impact on education! #APChat
