The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
A1: I try to provide as many places as possible for my Ts to locate videos appropriate to their content. I also use videos (short and to the point) in my training materials #inelearn
R1--When I was still in the classroom I would create screencasts and load them into @edpuzzle for students to work with. In my current role working with Ts I make a LOT of screencasts to share little tips. #INeLearn
My students are creating with #googleslides video mashups for different topics in class. (Adding two different videos related to the topic and changing the timing to blend them together)Thanks to @ericcurts for the awesome idea.#INeLearn
R1: I am trying to move from videos that are already created on @YouTube to videos that I've created. It's more personal, and it gives more meaning to the content. It used to be difficult, and scary to do.. Winter is coming as they say... #INeLearn
R1: Let the Ss waynvestigate the tools and process with the app or platform with a simple task 1st. Allows for them to learn with a simple topic so the enjoy using video to create or respond. #INeLearn

Youtube is open to our students. Our teachers try to embed the videos we use to avoid adds and the temptation to go down the youtube rabbit hole #INeLearn
R1: We have 1st graders write personal narratives. Then they record themselves reading them, assign an QR code that is attached to the paper, it's hung in the hallway, and visitors/parents can scan and listen to the students' work! #INeLearn#EdTech#VideoInEducation

R2. Green screen is becoming ubiquitous in classrooms. It's doable. Want to put yourself on a bench with Forrest Gump?! No problem! Life is like a box of chocolates! #INeLearn
A.2 my students have used #flipgrid and they loved it. I have a goal to implement this more in the classroom to allow more creation for my Ss.#INeLearn
A2: Well currently, I teach Student Media, so video projects are easy. But when I taught ELA, did all kinds of vids: 1st person narratives, instructional, vlogging #inelearn
R1: When responding to literature via @Flipgrid, student video responses have been personal, earnest, and thoughtful. Will definitely use this tool next year. #INeLearn
I love to use Flipgrid for engagement. For example, I had each student respond to a unique pre-reading topic for a novel and then have a Canvas discussion after viewing classmatesβ videos. I also like to have them do video responses on Canvas. #INeLearn
We use a video app. Not sure of the name, but it saves to Google Drive automatically. Then Ts use @TheQRCodeGenerator to make the QR codes. Ss use the same app on their CBs to scan codes as well. We have used ClipChamp and AVideoRecorder before. #INeLearn

R2: I love it when Ss use video to reflect and highlight their experiences with service learning. Iβve also seen some amazing #HSDLeaders telling how theyβve collaborated with Ts at @LearnatRHS#INeLearn
I know a teacher @bethsmall who is using @Flipgrid to film her Abraham Lincoln Raps/Ballads. Students create a story, then each student reads a lyric from their song. Super cool. #Inelearn
Love seeing tweets like this! We need more sharing like this in the #HSDLead Community! #INeLearn My MS team loved to create resources with video for their peers-younger kids make it even more fun.
R2 I'm trying to expose more of our teachers to screencasts, @Flipgrid and video creation to demonstrate a task or skill in art and technology classes. The #edtechteam summit this past weekend really brought a lot of our Ts on board.
#INeLearn
A2: I have had students create presentations including embedded video with PowerPoint. They also used an extension like Screencastify to create voiceovers. #INeLearn
Our students create videos that compare current podcasts to literature. One example is @Serial to The Crucible. Love that project. Also, our students create their own PSAs. My favorite was one about "stop the word to end the word" #inelearn
R3 The No. ! thing is to know your district's filtering/tool access or restrictions. Do not set yourself up for lost time and frustration. Also know what your broadband can handle #INeLearn Fortunately that last one is getting better every year!
R2: Our Ts are quite reluctant to use video. Some of it is the time commitment, but I think part of it is actually because they don't want Ss to know or think they have a video recorder available 24-7. #TheyAlreadyKnow#INeLearn
R3: When creating video, donβt stress so much about perfection. Your kids will almost always appreciate amateur videos with YOU in them over fancy pants professional YouTube videos. #INeLearn
A3. @smallindiana try it yourself and model for students first. If they see that youβre not afraid to get in front of a camera and hear the sound of your own voice *cringe* then theyβll be inspired to try it too! #INeLearn
We're exploring that possibility as well for our new device rollout in the fall. I think the Ss will respond better to peers than other Ts or admin. #INeLearn
In reply to
@burnedinteacher, @ENSC_TechCoach, @AvillaSchool
R3: I didn't get to do a lot of this while I was in the classroom, but just like everything else I encourage teachers to fail forward. Trial and error is not only the best way for students to learn, but teachers as well. #inelearn
R3: Donβt worry about the specific content. Make it about you or the Ss first. Share something simple & maybe silly so the device, app and process are learned. #INeLearn
A3: The biggest thing I see with teacher using video for the first time is not thinking thru on how the students will share their video once they create it. #inelearn
R3: I tell my teachers to let them have room to fail, allow them to take chances. I also love it when they give little directions. The Ss squirm, but end the end some of them blow you away! #inelearn
R3. Consider the shot. It adds an entirely new and interesting component to storytelling. A student will naturally center the subject, and have one long shot. You need to be intentional about composition just like a student would be with transitions in writing! #INeLearn
I'll agree, but part of my mission is to educate on simple production rules; while encouraging good visual composition. That is what Flip The Lens is all about. #Inelearn
A.4 I create example slides with videos so my Ss know my expectations. I have also been creating #edugifs and teaching students how to create them as well. It's a big hit! #INeLearn
R4. I have a really great shot list that I've modified from @jcorippo! It's my go to for introducing video to students. It's great to analyze works before we turn the camera on! #INeLearn
A4: I involve students in my own video work too so they can view the process I go through. My most recent video project: https://t.co/GVBBwk70zW#inelearn
Taking an active part in the production process is important to me. They needed to know someone of expertise was of support to them. Feedback EVERY STEP of the WAY is so important when it comes to production #Inelearn
R5: Ss are creating documentaries as part of their pbl projects. Such impressive products that come from this. Our Ts do a fantastic job! @angelasbien#INeLearn
I know I am embarrassingly late to the flipgrid party, but I am going to use it to share short stories with our school board from our elementary pilot! #INeLearn
No one is ever late to the @Flipgrid party. So many folks still haven't tried it, always shocked by the first time users in my sessions this past year. #INeLearn
I have been using Screencastify to record tutorials for new staff on how to utilize the plethora of Jotforms we have for administrative tasks. Pretty exciting...I know. #INeLearn
I think at some point this year I just starting recording video without stopping and editing them for staff. If the phone rang, so be it. Our students learn from far worst videos on youtube, so now I go with it. #INeLearn
r6. It's another channel to connect to students. In storytelling, for example, it adds entirely new elements. It takes theme to a whole new level. You must consider background music, shot composition, and tone. It's like writing on steroids! #INeLearn#Woo
R6--I think introducing that video element to my room made absent Ss still feel connected to the class, the content, and the experience because they got the same authentic lesson as the Ss that were present.
#INeLearn
Full disclosure: I graduted with a degree in broadcasting, ran a short stint on local TV, as well as ran a full audio/video production curriculum for 8. So we can be buds. #Inelearn
We really wanted to tell the story from a student perspective. Then we search for days on audiojungle to find just the right songs that we could own the rights. Lot of students hands on this video. #inelearn
R6 It could slow down the pace. If you are not adding to what you are doing, but transforming assessment through video for example. Focus more on application of what was learned #INeLearn
I'm never shocked to see that students continue to fill out our SpeakUp data with the goal of becoming a video producer("youtuber"). These kids want to produce content. How are we preparing them for that? #Inelearn
R7--Introduced @Flipgrid to a T I knew would LOVE it. Immediate speed bump--cameras on student devices disabled and they were unable to correct this. Fail! #INeLearn
r7. I fail with sound all the time. All the time. I think as an educator with less than professional equipment, audio is the biggest challenge to creating a high quality product! #INeLearn
r7. I fail with sound all the time. All the time. I think as an educator with less than professional equipment, audio is the biggest challenge to creating a high quality product! #INeLearn
I can't count how many students I have talked to whose goal is to become a famous youtuber. I try to guide them, but most don't realize the amount of work involved. #inelearn
