-
Judy from PUHSD its warming up and I'm working in the yard this week
-
A1: Some say that they don’t blog because they aren't good at writing. One sure fire way to get better at writing is to write.
-
A1: Playing Ds advocate, I'd say blogging would be waste of valuable time if you haven't integrated it to help Ss or prof. life.
-
-
Hello Everyone! Bob, T/C - tweeting from Libertyville, IL. Avid blogger, interested in discussing this topic with all of you!
-
A1: People will be able to see my inner thoughts and how I really feel about some of my Ss and coworkers
-
Should of just included you as well as response.
-
A1: One reason not to blog is fear of being vulnerable. Real writing is honest and hard to fake.
-
a1: Blogging is all about creating a personal brand. Teachers should be more altruistic.
-
A1: you should not blog because it will take away from the detailed, quality feedback should be giving Ss (reaching here)
-
There is definitely a real risk here. How to vent with anonymity is difficult in this age
-
A1 First-timer here - Ts who aren't interested in sharing their learning transparently shouldn't blog. Bloggers are givers!
-
A1: Devils advocate says too personal or I'm not good enough or who cares...
-
Welcome to . Great to have you!
-
A1: Does the devil need an advocate? Reasons not to blog - if you can't dedicate the time or authenticity. It can't feel forced.
-
A0: Jed math/tech geek

I think this is what holds back some teachers, but expressing and evaluating our work on a blog will make us better
-
Q1b: Imagine a world without bloggers. What would that look like? What would be different?
-
great point, there is some discomfort in revealing ourselves to others - it's about growth!
-
A1b: A world without writers/storytellers is a world that does not communicate/share what it is to be human.
-
A1: I don’t know what to write about; can’t find the time; no one will read it anyway.
-
Hey Friends of It’s Kathy here from Upland. I teach 9th graders (Honors and college prep biology) Glad we are talking about BLOGS
-
A1B: 1990, where information was gathered from the dewey decimal system and discussions in Teachers lounge
-
Bloggers can also be reflective. That's mostly why I blog.
-
oh you're late, well we will help you through the next 1/2 hr anyway
-
a1b: A world w/out bloggers is like a room without windows. You can't see out and others can't see in.
-
Some interpret branding as a bad thing, I think it represents our values - all good!
-
A1b: W/O blogging, we'd lose a great, less formal platform to share our thoughts and form ideas that can lead to something larger.
-
A1b: That world would be disconnected and less effective.
-
Interesting, seeing the mind of the T, revealing oneself...interesting
-
A1- I really can’t find the time- I have like 5 different posts started but can’t seem to get past 1st few sentences of each one
-
I’m with you on this

Most of my posts are reflective therapy, so I'm with you!
-
I agree. Just playing a bit of devil's advocate. :)

-
-
Oh wow, I don't blame 'em, I'd rather be there than out here.
-
Q2: What do/can you get from reading other's blogs?
-
-
A2: I read a wide range of blogs. Some are like a meal and some are like dessert. Mix in the fun with the cerebral.
-
A1b Hard to imagine since there are hundreds of millions of bloggers, & a billion blog readers - stories need to be told!
-
A2: When I'm highly interested in learning more, I love learning about the author's musings in a less formalized setting.

A2 Other bloggers R models 4 my publishing, other blogs deepen my knowledge, broaden perspective, & make me ask better questions.

-
a2: Blogs that go into the depth cause me to wonder: should I do that? would it add to my class? Does it solve a problem?
-
. Not really more authentic voice, just more voice.

A2: I also like reading others experiences so that I don’t feel like I’m on an island.
