A1: I begin year with "not your buddy" speech. Follow it with "I'm your surrogate Dad from 8-3" speech.

I always mention, I am friendly, but I am not your friend. I am your teacher. Definitely want to keep roles.

A5: I try to limit using my "teacher voice." and when I do, I make sure I give a warning before or explain why after.
