Clarissa Miles here! Tech Coach at LPS and RWS and co-founder of #rcstechchat :-) I am sooooooo happy to have you guys joining us tonight. #rcstechchat
A1: The TN Ready hashtag was a great opportunity to see how people outside of public ed perceived what was going on. So many tweets that SUPPORTED the work of teachers! #RCSTechChat
A1 Well, we’ve had quite a bit of explaining to do, but it has given us a chance to brag on the students. They have tried so hard even with the craziness! #rcstechchat
A1 Well...it has definitely sparked a conversation between educators, parents, and stakeholders. So, any conversation on improving education is positive in my book! #RCSTechChat
Q1 #rcstechchat TNReady challenges provided motivation for parents and the community to really take a closer look at our assessment program and forge partnerships with teachers and school admins.
A1: The TN Ready hashtag was a great opportunity to see how people outside of public ed perceived what was going on. So many tweets that SUPPORTED the work of teachers! #RCSTechChat
A1: anytime you get a chance to get in contact with parents, whether it be for a tough reason, it gives an opportunity to say something positive about their student as well- show that you care! #RCSTechChat
A1 The challenges presented by TNReady and how the students have adapted and overcome have allowed us as a faculty to compliment and praise them for their attitudes and their reactions towards adversity.
#RCSTechChat
I think if anything it's opened the door for conversation between parents and teachers. It's enabled the parents to better understand what is happening. #RCSTechChat
A1: I sent this email home the day after the testing went down. I hoped it would give a positive tone to testing, and it did! I was glad to encourage some parents ☺️ #RCSTechChat
A1I teach elementary, so we haven't had any challenges with the test itself. The testing process does give us opportunities to work with students on using a growth mindset to help with the stress. This can be hard sometimes especially for the younger students. #RCSTechChat
A1 While Dept of Ed is supporting the message from the media is that does not count, I have a further question how do we get students to try no matter what on anything like the test, even if they do not like it. #RCSTechChat
A1. I have had a student achieve the status “Happiest student” I have ever tested. He loved responding no matter what the question style was. :) #RCSTechChat
A1- I think it gave us an opportunity to reach out more and even though there were frustrations, we were able to show parents that we were working hard regardless. #rcstechchat
A1 I would say that technology (Twitter, email) makes it easy to quickly get information out to parents and students. I use online resources (although in AP and I, not TNReady courses) but it makes it easier for the students to have everything in one place. #RCSTechChat
A1: Luckily we didn't have any problems to speak of. But I know teachers for tested students were in continued contact with parents and family beforehand.
#RCSTechChat
A1 It has been an opportunity for more transparency with parents. And is a great opportunity to open/encourage communication between teacher-student-parent about the testing process.
#RCSTechChat
A1: By staying positive during the challenges we faced with Tn Ready modeled to the students that in the face of challenge you rise up and face it positively instead of having a negative attitude! #RCSTechChat
A1: I sent this email home the day after the testing went down. I hoped it would give a positive tone to testing, and it did! I was glad to encourage some parents ☺️ #RCSTechChat
A1 - It's good to start with the easy questions.
Encouraging the students and parents has been a new challenge for me. But overall it seems that tensions have cooled down and the kids are ready to go.
#RCSTechChat
A1- i have been able to provide parents with tips and activities to help their child prepare for the test: review games, activities, etc
forgot to add:
#RCSTechChat
A1: It has been tough being positive about TNReady. I do think it is one thing that faculty, parents, and students have the same basic feelings about.
#RCSTechChat
Ugh attempt #2
A1. I think if anything it's opened the door for communication between parents and teachers. Sure, things haven't gone as planned, but the students have persevered and so have the teachers. #RCSTechChat
I think have to use the analogy of games and gaming. There will be sections in a game that are hard or that they don't like, but they keep trying to win the game no matter what. #RCSTechChat
A1 I had a few parents ask “do they really have to test” or “is his really going to count”. While I couldn’t give them the answers they were looking for, it gave me the opportunity to assure them that we’ve more than prepared their children and that we’re all along for the ride!
A1- Through the challenges, I truly believe educators are beginning to step up and share true solutions and ask the right questions to leaders, while simultaneously communicating openly with our students and parents. We all are our kids’ advocates #RCSTechChat
A1) Students and parents got to witness teachers and administrators adjusting on the run - a quality of a lot of successful educators. These 'adjustments' were quickly communicated to all involved.
#RCSTechChat
If anything it's allowing us to be honest, yes there have been some hiccups in the testing, but at the same time we are all sticking it out and staying positive. #RCSTechChat
Yes and we can always use that. It is our duty (from a research to practice standpoint) to meet families where they are - we need to listen to see where we're hitting and missing 🎯 #RCSTechChat
Q2: How have technology tools like @seesaw, @classdojo or learning management systems changed the way that you create community in your classroom or school? #RCSTechChat
A1- Parents and teachers have both been frustrated through this process however parents have been supportive. In my opinion, it has made the communication stronger and allowed us to show them that one test doesn’t define their child! #RCSTechChat
That might be the silver lining. I think all stakeholders have really shined at positive and clear communication over the past couple weeks. #RCSTechChat
A2: My teachers are using a variety of tools to model appropriate online behavior. It's amazing to see how that modeling brings a stronger community to the physical classroom. #RCSTechChat
#rcstechchat A1 It has to start with teachers, if we are negative then our students and ultimately our parents will be negative. When testing it is hard to stay positive when seeing he size of the test.
A2: Dojo has been so helpful in communicating with parents! They can easily see how their child is doing, and it is so easy to send quick, positive messages to parents! #RCSTechChat
A2: I’ve honestly never used these types of apps (I’ve had house points to use as an incentive), but I’ve heard great things! Hope to learn more at @EdCampBoro! #RCSTechChat

Q2 @ClassDojo has been a game changer for Laverne schools for parent involvement. We are reaching parents at an all time high rate through the app. The translation feature caters to our many ethnicities. #rcstechchat
I personally use @Seesaw in my classroom. I love the ease of being able to show parents a snippet of what their child is learning and producing in school. The feedback from parents has been great! It's so easy to use too, so I like that aspect! #RCSTechChat

Technology has changed the community within my classroom by me reaching out and trying to meet my students where they are. They live in a technology driven world and bringing that into the classroom provides real world lessons and engages them with what they know! #RCSTechChat
A2 I love ClassDojo and have used it for years. I use it in conjunction with my classroom economy. It allows me share the positive things a students does with parents. This is the best thing about it for me. #RCSTechChat
A2: Class Dojo is an awesome way to communicate with parents throughout the day to let them know how their child is doing during class! This has helped parents feel more involved! #RCSTechChat
A2 #rcstechchat We have Jupiter Grades at RMS and it is amazing. Teachers/Parents/Students stay connected throughout the day -- and everyone knows what is going on. It allows a feeling of collaboration.

I am not familiar with those programs, but I have used programs such as Remind to quickly communicate with parents and teachers. It's nice to be able to spread the word when there is a change to the schedule or a typo in the AK.#RCSTechChat
A2 I haven't used anything like that in class yet, but I want to start using something g like it next year intreasted to see the benefits if each one #RCSTechChat
It's one of the best parent involvement tech tools I have ever seen. The class story and portfolio features puts it head and shoulders above competitors and its FREE. @ClassDojo#rcstechchat
A2 I love ClassDojo and have used it for years. I use it in conjunction with my classroom economy. It allows me share the positive things a students does with parents. This is the best thing about it for me. #RCSTechChat
#rcstechchat. I agree --listening is one of the most important parts of working together. It shows respect and you gain so much from seeing another perspecitve

A2:Technology has changed the community within my classroom by me reaching out and trying to meet my students where they are. They live in a technology driven world and bringing that into the classroom provides real world lessons and engages them with what they know!#RCSTechChat
A2 as a secondary school teacher, we use various methods to communicate to parents, iNow allows students and parents to constantly check progress. Remind is useful as well in bringing parents into the classroom as well. #RCSTechChat
A2- @Seesaw has allowed me to provide real time videos, assignments, announcements, and pictures to parents. They feel actively a part of their child’s day and can give their child real time feedback. 🙌🏻 #rcstechchat
I also think Class Dojo is a great way to communicate with the parents. The teachers keep in close contact with the parents often. I have seen how it has helped with behavior issues in the classroom.
#rcstechchat
Many, many, many great tools out there (📸 ISTE expo example) but these are only tools. Educators cannot let them BE THE WORK. Our relationships btwn home & school must be the work. #RCSTechChat
Q2: How have technology tools like @seesaw, @classdojo or learning management systems changed the way that you create community in your classroom or school? #RCSTechChat
A2 Although I haven’t implemented yet, Microsoft Teams is a great way to get the kids involved online. The middle school uses it, so I plan to use it with my freshmen as well next year. Twitter and Remind 101 are awesome for communication! #RCSTechchat
#rcstechchat -- I love REMIND too -- as a parent, it has kept me in the loop of my own kiddos and what is going on at their school. I really like that app.
I use @RemindHQ in 6th grade & for drama club and I love it!! So easy to use from my phone & not have to worry about logging into my email! #RCSTechChat
A2- when my students are earning points, they are really motivated and encourage others to make smart choices and be on task. This really helps to build a positive community in our classroom
#RCSTechChat
My son is in middle school and his teachers use remind and it really helps me keep on top of things "with" him. I've used remind in the past as well. #RCSTechChat
I ALWAYS struggled with that. I never found a good answer. Twitter was the closest thing to effective. But I never felt like I reached EVERYBODY. #RCSTechChat
You use one tool that reaches them all at once. Many of the tools we are talking about allows you to send one message and/or text and reach all parents or just certain ones. #rcstechchat
A3: @Seesaw has been the gamechanger for many of our teachers. It keeps them informed from an academic perspective on what their students are doing. Twitter has been very helpful to admins when info has go out quick. #RCSTechChat
#rcstechchat. A2. I have shared some information on see saw with another teacher and they granted be permission to add into their account. Don’t forget to share with special area teachers. We want to communicate with parents as well.
A2- We have set up remind for our guidance and office staff so they can text students either as a grade level or individually about updates. #rcstechchat
A3 Twitter is an easy way to share what we are doing throughout the day. I also like to have the students help with what tweets we send out to give them ownership. It's also great to see what other teachers are doing in the county and around the country. #RCSTechChat
A3 We use Facebook and twitter to send out announcements and post details about events happening at HHS. We also post all morning announcements on YouTube. Parents constantly comment on all of these platforms. #rcstechchat
A3 Twitter is such an excellent method to provide information to anyone who cares to know, instantly. Our school does an excellent job celebrating our successes both in and out of the classroom, as well as communicate important information
#RCSTechChat
#RCSTechChat I don't use every new tool that comes out, but use those I do pick up more effectively. That said, I haven't used @seesaw or @classdojo but what I have seen is that available tech has transformed my classroom in three ways:
In reply to
@tcarey98, @Seesaw, @ClassDojo, @Seesaw, @ClassDojo
A3: LHS does a great job always tweeting out support for clubs, sports teams, and extra curriculars. It gets the community excited for what we’re doing! #RCSTechChat
A3 All of our teacher have Edlio pages that they are to use for communication and assignments. Many of our teachers use the features on Microsoft as well. Again, Twitter is a quick and easy form of communication! #RCSTechchat
A3- JCE is using twitter to build community. it gives parents and stakeholders an opportunity to see all of the amazing things our students are doing.
#RCSTechChat
Q3-We use the school's Twitter feed to try to send out lots of different communications, but we also use SchoolMessenger to send out a Parent Newsletter every week to our parents. #RCSTechChat
A3: My school uses twitter to update parents on things going on at school with pictures of the students involvement and changes made to extra curricular schedules! #RCSTechChat
A3 Barfield has Twitter. I have my account. But disappointed I don’t have more parents that are on. And I struggle with worrying about posting the “wrong” things (since I’m special ed and have the whole confidentiality thing). #RCSTechChat
A3: At a big high school there is so much going on that information is always being disseminated. We have a twitter feed on our school website and we actually have an app that students, parents, and faculty use to get information about what's happening.#RCSTechChat
A 3. My school is rather unique, but I think they do a great job reaching parents at all levels (elem, mid, & high). The PTO is very active on FB and always posts events, pictures, schedules, etc. Very informative! #RCSTechChat
A3: Not only does Rocky Fork have a Twitter but also many of our sports and clubs. This way we can reach parents and students in a different way but still get important information to them! #RCSTechChat
A3) With a lot going on at school, we use social media to communicate important info and share proud moments of our school community that would often go unnoticed.
#RCSTechChat
A3. At La Vergne High the use of twitter by faculty staff students and admin is really changing the perception of the school by constantly showing all the great things all of our stakeholders are involved in on a daily basis #RCSTechChat
I personally LOVE when other schools in our district tweet out what is going on in their schools so I can borrow (steal) the ideas. They are so amazing. @JCElem_RCS & @DavidYoureeElem has some of the best tweets about what is going on at their school! #rcstechchat
When @mylifeasatechie and I tell you that Twitter has changed our lives, we are not joking. We've grown our PLN and are more involved in the tech world than ever before! #RCSTechChat
Although we (school) don't have a FB page, our parents created one and sometimes, it can get very negative with the comments of what is said. Our AP does a good job of hopping in sometimes and deflecting some of the negativity.#RCSTechChat
A3- My daughter’s school posts on Facebook and tweets about stuff going on at her school.
Emails are the main source of communication at our school. #RCSTechChat
A3- My schools are a little shy on the social media game...we are a @ClassDojo school wide school so we use that class story feed just as we would a twitter feed or FB feed. That way our parents only have to look in one place. #RCSTechChat
A3: We have SEVERAL faculty including administration that are very active on Twitter. There is so much out there to see and share not only within out school but across the county.
#RCSTechChat
A3: Our administration encourages every teacher, team, and club to use Twitter, to Tweet any news or accolades to the school twitter (@LHSintheNews) and to tag every tweet #RespectOurL. #RCSTechChat
2. Student ownership and responsibility. Once students are trained to use tech and resources as expected, they can do so much without me standing behind them and prodding them. No excuses of not knowing when it's all in their hands. #RCSTechChat
A3- Simply starting a school @Twitter and training on other social media platforms begins the trickle down effect with teachers and parents. #rcstechchat
#rcstechchat I think Remind is especially popular with the High Schools because of the ability to text students and parents reminders and information. They don't have to use 2 different platforms to communicate with both students and parent.
#rcstechchat A3. My problem is to remember to use Twitter. With everything we have to now it hard to remember. Plus also remembering which students can’t be photographed
Q4: What is your school doing to ensure that all stakeholders feel welcome and vital to your school’s community? How do you know it is effective? #RCSTechChat
A5: We communicate via email, social media, paper and phone to ensure parents have all the information. We are clear and careful in our communications. We know we are effective because of our parental support and minimal conflicts. #RCSTechChat
A4- Both of my schools are Title 1 schools. We invite all of the stake holders to our annual spring planning meetings and give them a say in how our funds are spend and allow them to give input on trainings, school events etc #RCSTechChat
Q4: What is your school doing to ensure that all stakeholders feel welcome and vital to your school’s community? How do you know it is effective? #RCSTechChat
A4 Because of our size we are very open and available for drop ins. We are a choice school, so parents and students drop in for a tour and chat often! We love to show off HHS to anyone that will listen! 😄 #rcstechchat
A4: at LHS we have a “Community Connections” initiative where we bring in local businesses and supporters to events on campus and in turn promote them at our football games. It’s established a supportive community for our school and gets more involvement #RCSTechChat
A4 I think Barfield is excellent at building relationships. With everyone. Parents, students, family members. We know everything about every student. #thorough#RCSTechChat
A4- Continued. I know it is effective because those stakeholders don't just how up once a year. We are seeing them continually involved throughout the school year. #rcstechchat
A4 Following up to questions 3, communication is majorly important in making stakeholders feel welcome and vital to a school community. Lines of communication are more open than they ever have been with the use of technology.
#RCSTechChat
A4: At JCE, we assign a classroom greeter from every class. When someone walks into the classroom, there is a designated student to get up, welcome them to the class, and shake their hand. It teaches the students soft skills as well as makes visitors feel welcome. #RCSTechChat
A4 We have a huge community /stakeholder involvement. We do a school wide back to school and end of the year picnic. These are such great ways to start and end the year. #RCSTechChat
A4-We use SchoolMessenger to email out the Parent Newsletter (which is a Weebly blog link), use Twitter, our Web Page where events, images, news are all posted to ensure everyone has info and feels part of the SCH community. #RCSTechChat
I feel our school does a wonderful job of communicating with stakeholders and parents. I think that’s why we have few parental conflicts/misunderstandings #RCSTechChat
A4) Good Question. Providing access and clear communication are two things that we try to do to ensure that the community feels welcome. I think that you can gauge the effectiveness by looking at involvement in school events. #RCSTechChat
Our PTO does a wonderful job involving parents and giving them a "place" in our school community. Our administration is also very approachable and interactive with parents (at school/online/at events).
#RCSTechChat
A4:At the high school level I think the single biggest way we make parents feel welcome is by quick and easy access to their student's updated grades. InfoNow makes the grading process very transparent. #RCSTechChat
A4: at LHS we have a “Community Connections” initiative where we bring in local businesses and supporters to events on campus and in turn promote them at our football games. It’s established a supportive community for our school and gets more involvement #RCSTechChat
A4: Our school communicates in several different ways to make sure that parents have all of the information that they need. Our school is also very involved with the community!! #RCSTechChat
A4- At JCE, we invite stakeholders to special events at our school. Each year we host a special breakfast for stakeholders and people in our community who help support JCE's faculty and students. We also invite stakeholders to our Spring Planning Meeting
#RCSTechChat
A4 - Athletics are a big part of our culture. We bridged the gap by introducing an ACT information meeting for parents, followed by fee entry into that night's basketball game. #RCSTechChat
We keep our parents involved and they are constantly coming to the school for events and award ceremonies and sport signings and choir concerts and many other things. Our enrollment seems to be increasing every year so I believe it’s working. #rcstechchat
#rcstechchat I agree with you --the ability to see the grades and assignments at the High School level is so important --especially since their grades can affect their future.
A4. I think the biggest way is by making it available to parents and asking for feedback. Encouraging parents and community to participate. We implemented a community partners project that brought stakeholders into the building to offer feedback #RCSTechChat
A4: we invite the community to different events that our school has done such as a STEAM night. The community was invited and it was a great turn out! It was a great way to involve the community as well as stakeholders. #RCSTechChat
A4: Twitter is our primary communication channel. I think we're effective at getting information to the community and local media through Twitter. Various teachers, teams, and clubs do a good jog supporting/promoting one another on Twitter also. #RCSTechChat
A4: PTO, PTO, PTO! We have the greatest PTO! Are parents are very involved in the school. We also have numerous outreaches to the community to involve them in the Arts programs at TFAA. #RCSTechChat
Q4 Ensuring that stakeholders feel welcomed is so important in this day and age. Email, Twitter, and other social media opens that line of communication so that opinions and voices can always be heard #RCSTechChat
A4
I think it starts with a sense of feeling welcome. Gone are the feelings of intimidation and judgment. This gives parent a sense of belonging, thus a feeling that they too belong and have a purpose in our school. #RCSTechChat
A4: As a Title school we have Planning meetings involving parents, CO personnel, and other school sponsors. We've also had a number of school events outside of those meetings involving parents and community stakeholders.
#RCSTechChat
Q4-Pt 2--On our campus, we know it's effective when we see how many stakeholders from all 3 campuses show up-especially for different collaborative Fine Arts events! #itsacreekthing#rcstechchat
A4: PTO, PTO, PTO! We have the greatest PTO! Are parents are very involved in the school. We also have numerous outreaches to the community to involve them in the Arts programs at TFAA. #RCSTechChat
Communication is done in various ways. Email and social media are just a few. We also great children and families in the morning and afternoon. I believe it is working because there haven't been issues and smiles. #Rcstechchat
A4) We do a great job of encouraging everyone to be involved in our school. Again, communication is the key. I think it is vital that we make all stakeholders feel welcomed and valued.
#RCSTechChat
A4- Teachers do a great job to keep parents involved. We have great support from parents and administration. People are always welcome at our school. We consistently let them know they are appreciated. #RCSTechChat
A4: Communication is done in various ways. Email and social media are just a few. We also great children and families in the morning and afternoon. I believe it is working because there haven't been issues and smiles. #Rcstechchat
#rcstechchat. A4. Not matter how, good we are we must remember that it is the parents choice. Our communication needs to be timely and about important things. We need to make sure that informs is important and not over saturate them. Or else they will tune us out!
I think schools don't realize how many community members/ businesses want to be involved in helping the schools...we HAVE to open the door and communicate with them to get them involved. #rcstechchat
I think schools don't realize how many community members/ businesses want to be involved in helping the schools...we HAVE to open the door and communicate with them to get them involved. #rcstechchat
A4: @RockyForkMS uses social media and hosts events at the school for parents to be involved and informed about testing, STEAM, and the school in general. Definitely awesome! #RCSTechChat
Having worked in marketing/advertising, I've often thought that schools/districts could use a PR consultation PD every few years to adapt the changing media landscape. #RCSTechChat
A5: Fun Run, Field Day and Fall Festival are highly effective events for us. Many of our former students return with their families to visit 10 years after they've left us! Traditional events still go A LONG WAY to build community! #RCSTechChat
A4: At JCE, we assign a classroom greeter from every class. When someone walks into the classroom, there is a designated student to get up, welcome them to the class, and shake their hand. It teaches the students soft skills as well as makes visitors feel welcome. #RCSTechChat
A4 ~ I also think open communication is key. Parents don't want to hear about events (good or bad) from their child. They want to hear what is or has happened from the administrators. #RCSTechChat
A5: Pep rallys have been great for students! We also occasionally will have an in-school basketball game or faculty/student game that kids love to come support and dress up for #RCSTechChat
A5: I think that our pep rallies and grub hubs have helped build community within our school with our students. It’s important to let kids still be kids and we allow them to do that by providing these types of experiences. #RCSTechChat
A5: 2 things we do in the Oakland IB community is have a Murder Mystery night in the fall and a Trivia Nigh in the winter. The students love it, but it’s not for the entire school or community. Students do enjoy coming to school and doing something fun after hours.
#RCSTechChat
#rcstechchat. A5. At Barfield our affine Arts/ Curriculum Fair nights bring in hundreds each time we have it. I think the smallest group of students we had was about 80 students. Largest over 200 students plus parents.
A5: I think our extra curricular activities really help. This year, I coached the Botball club, Girl's on the Run, and archery. It really helped seeing parents outside of the "normal" school day. #RCSTechChat
A5-Implementing the house system that @ronclarkacademy (Harry Potter) uses has been the best thing i have seen for this at RWS in the 15 years I have been there. It has transformed our school. We have pride, community, and a sense of belonging that is off the charts! #rcstechchat
A5 ~ I personally was impressed with the way the community came out and supported the students during our Homecoming Parade. The streets were shut down and everyone was outside cheering and enjoying the parade. Can't think of a better way to involve the community! #RCSTechChat
Q5 Freshman Orientation is one of my favorites- parents and students get SO excited for high school to start and they’re amazed by all of the clubs and organizations we have. We also had a festival for our first home football game this year that was a big success. #RCSTechChat
A5) Sporting Events often bring an entire school community together with involvement of Teams, Cheerleaders, Student Fans, Dance Teams, and Marching Bands. #RCSTechChat
Q5 I think we have our tried and true traditions. But there’s always room for new ideas to meet the needs of our community. With that said, Special Olympics with @area16sotn is a family reunion like nobody’s business. #RCSTechChat
A5 We also do a night of the arts, which raises money for our music and art programs. Parents are able to see their child's artwork and watch them perform. #RCSTechChat
I agree. Within certain communities and groups there are often activities to support and encourage each other, and IB is especially good at this. #RCSTechChat
A5: It's a weird answer, but we host a lot of big, multi-team swim meets and get a lot of positive feedback from parents & coaches from other schools and from local businesses. #RCSTechChat
A5- Our school does a “promote up” day. Here, the students are able to meet their teacher for next year. There is no guessing all summer long. This allows the student and teacher to start building a relationship! #RCSTechChat
I agree! This is what I remember the most about being in school and having school pride. It always tied back to a sporting event/pep rally! #RCSTechChat
A5) Sporting Events often bring an entire school community together with involvement of Teams, Cheerleaders, Student Fans, Dance Teams, and Marching Bands. #RCSTechChat
A5: Our Open House in the Fall always brings out parents and current/former students, We had a Fun Run in the fall that brought out a number of parents. Our Spirit Day in the Spring involves the entire school and several parents
#RCSTechChat
A5~ Also the community support at our sporting events. So many alumni and members of the community return to games year after year. The first football game was 2 hours away and I sat next to an elderly man who said he has never missed a game! #RCSTechChat
A5- Hands down, it is definitely our back to school package delivery. We personally deliver a package to every JCE student (at his/her home) the week before school starts. It is AMAZING!! Talk about building community!!!!
#RCSTechChat
A5- Traditions are important @WeAreBarfield Present and former students and parents still continue to come and support activities we’ve ad for years. #RCSTechChat
I just want to remind everyone that after the last question tonight please don't log off until you complete the form at the end. This is how we know who joined in and who to give credit to. Please make sure you do this :-) #rcstechchat
A6: We have a relationship with 4H. We have support from local restaurants. Academically, we have more room for growth when it comes to facilitating ongoing relationships with our high growth industries. @RuthWorksTN is underutilized asset. #RCSTechChat
A6: I mentioned the Community Connections but the basketball team also has partnered with local businesses to sell discount cards as a fundraiser but also get more kids at those businesses as well #RCSTechChat
#RCSTechChat. It must start with the teachers and parents. Getting to know the businesses and leaders personally. Not just asking for a give me. When we support local businesses they will will support us!
A6: our school has a thing called “community connections” where different organizations are invited into the school to be involved in various things! #RCSTechChat
A6:Many of our students participate in the Rutherford Co Youth Leadership Program. This program provides students with access to a variety of businesses. #RCSTechChat
A6 ~ The one first thing that popped in my head was Maple Street Grill closing their doors and feeding all employees at Eagleville prior to school beginning. I was very impressed! #RCSTechChat
A4: Our school holds events that the public is encouraged to come and be apart “fashion shows, silent auctions and transforming in to a medical center” just to name a few ... We love our community..#RCSTechChat
