Welcome, everyone to the #ProDriven chat. Could not be more excited to have @iCoachKate moderating tonight. Hopefully everyone had a chance to vote before joining us :)
A1: Reading great PD books, visiting with my mentor for reflection/direction, and attending amazing conferences to connect with other educators/learn as much as possible to help me do a better job leading the learners in my care! #ProDriven
A1: No 2 days are ever alike, which means I have to be flexible in my facilitation of learning, which also means I have to be flexible in my own learning. Constantly learning, but with a focus. #ProDriven
A1: visible progress through data (quantitative, qualitative, or even anecdotal). I need feedback to keep filling my bucket. As a coach without a classroom, I have to guard against throwing everything out there to see what sticks. #ProDriven
A2: I think the ever evolving system of education keeps me motivated. The students are ever changing, there is always a teacher ready to learn more. #ProDriven
A2: My motivation stems from authentic learning experiences, specifically learning experiences in the social-emotional realm of the student! #ProDriven
This question often strikes up the most conversation when it comes to education. We are so conditioned by extrinsic motivators that it’s difficult sometimes to allow the flame of intrinsic motivation to ignite and spread. #ProDriven
Don’t know if I can share the tool, but I am excited to partner with my MS Coach partner in the feeder pattern on getting baseline data around Tier 1 interventions in classrooms. Excited for that tool/data conversation #ProDriven
A2: The greatest motivator is the lightbulb moments I see in even adult learners, but more important, that re-ignition of passion to learn after enduring traditional PD that tends to snuff it out. #ProDriven
I so agree. But I have found the only thing that truly motivates me IS the intrinsic. I think that’s true for my students and the teachers with whom I work as well. #ProDriven
A2: connecting with colleagues across the world; connecting with education researchers on Twitter... I’ve been kind of ecstatic because Rock Wormeli has retweeted some recent posts 🤗 #ProDriven
And sometimes those who have intrinsic motivation to educate may get classified as doing “too much” or not having “boundaries.” There is always a line, but our passion is our strength.
A2b: but seriously, @twitter has been great for connecting directly (and meaningfully) with education leaders around the globe. They are willing to connect and dialogue! #ProDriven

I always say my 7 year old is strong willed and I never have to worry about her being taken advantage of in life, bc she has passion, the will to learn and a strong will. #ProDriven Not a bad combo in my mind.
It’s a mix of you do this that we picked as well as employee edcamp-like in service days. I those better b/c I can pick and I usually get to be a presenter. #ProDriven
A2: New-to-me district, so I'm not really sure. #ProDriven . So much of our training for PreK in through Head Start, since we have Head Start students in our classrooms, even though the classrooms are housed in district buildings. #ProDriven
A3: I think it looks different across the district, we are in a large district. Our building has PD Tracks, which allow teachers to select their focus and grow in that area throughout the year. They also have personalized learning minutes that take place of a work day. #ProDriven
A4: as a coach, I def need to do a better job of collecting feedback so that I can analyze it and make changes to the PD I offer. I’d like to create some Qs that generate more effective feedback tho #ProDriven
A4: I value feedback from students on their perceptions of the class. Their perception is their reality, so I think it’s important to meet them to talk through any disconnects I see. #ProDriven
Not much teacher agency there, huh? I have been pleasantly surprised with my district's switch to a healthy mix of teacher-led, teacher-designed choices and the usual direct. More the former than the latter. #ProDriven

A4: Specifically, I like hearing what worked well with my facilitation, but I always seek feedback that points out some weaknesses…because I know it’s the first step in turning them into strengths. #ProDriven
A4: I seek regular feedback from ppl I work with. I constantly am seeking those educational conversations and processing my ideas and thoughts through conversation. #ProDriven
A4: I am always asking those who have been in sessions and meetings I facilitate, or drive, to give me feedback on what worked and what I could improve. I want to model what we ask teachers to with their students. #ProDriven
Often I see my students have misconceptions about how “school” works. I want them to feel they have voice, but will not hesitate to step in if they try to take advantage 😂 #ProDriven
I always appreciate choices, collaboration, time to process and personalization. Edcamps, conference type learning is always good. I have been happy with the PD Tracks to guide growth as well. #ProDriven
I think this is one of the best new trends in professional learning. I L-O-V-E self-directed/driven PD. It's perfect for those of us with families and coaching and... I dunno, lives?? #ProDriven
#ProDriven is looking for moderators starting Tuesdays after Thanksgiving through March! Anyone interested? Contact @jbormann3 or me via Twitter message and let us know a date you want! #ProDriven

A5: oh boy... here goes... 🤗 I think PL that is rooted in a solid anchor text or research gives confidence and consistency. I think we could do some great longitudinal PL on @robertjmarzano “New Art and Science of Teaching” #ProDriven
A5: choice! I cant say that enough. But there’s something to be said for meaningful choice. If you are choosing from the leftovers or the choices don’t apply to you it’s hard. #ProDriven
A5: when I design PD I try to keep it relevant for all subject areas or a wide range of grade levels. I also try to have fun and encourage Ts to take risks and try new things #ProDriven
A5: Mine would be specific to my age group. So many times I go to meetings where someone will say, "but not for PreK..." I understand the needs to see where we're supposed to be taking the Ss, but what about something that pertains to now? #ProDriven
I like to add raffles to my PD. We also do a monthly PD challenge to enter in a raffle to win an Amazon gift card. Prizes are always good. :) #ProDriven
A6: um, always! We do this job together but it is so hard to get out of our “4 walls”. I have learned so much from watching other levels and schools. We must seek these opportunities out. #ProDriven
That's one reason I am so thankful for social media like @Twitter - I've made more connections with teachers who teach what I teach and who give me feedback and fresh ideas where I couldn't find it before. #ProDriven
And now there’s the book that walks through the WHY and HOW to such a model. Celebrated the 1-year anniversary last week. Get your signed copies here -> https://t.co/M2umJEr8UG#ProDriven
A5: recently I’ve seen a few PD choice boards and challenge boards to encourage Ts to try something they haven’t done. And they can earn dress down days and others. I think the extrinsic motivators might help entice some growth to begin. I love it #ProDriven
Girl, we DO need to talk! I completely agree. "Collaborating" with people who don't share your pedagogical or professional philosophies makes it difficult to actually collaborate and it becomes a series of meetings, not collaborative learning. #ProDriven
A7: Creating a product or solving a problem motivates me to seek collaborative prof learning. #ProDriven And sometimes I just need a group to help me process information.
A7: cross-curricular work is what really drives me as a professional! I also have found such great ideas about teaching and learning watching primary level teachers work. They are experts in the learning process and anytime we collaborate and scale up it is great #ProDriven
A8: I would eventually write a book of my growth and experiences, but finding time and the dedication outside the work day are my humps to work over right now. #ProDriven
A8: I would love to publish more of my research. I really hope to be in C&I work at professional levels working with new and aspiring teachers. #ProDriven

Next year's is on June 4th, 2019. It doens't say anything about the location as of yet. #ProDriven
Yes I’ve experienced the forced PLC. 🙅♀️. But the culture of collaboration and discussion has to support an environment that allows it to grow organically. #prodriven

My friends, I'm out of questions tonight. It has been so wonderful to spend this time with so many with the #ProDriven attitude. Thank you to @jbormann3 and @MrsStephenson3 for hooking me up with this awesome group!

A8: Maybe not talked about as often, but it would leave me feeling far more positive, competent, and inquisitive. I just spent two days at Midwest Google Summit more or less in a meditative personal PD state. It was glorious. #ProDriven
So true. I've experienced it more than the organic, truly collaborative model, but the tides are turning in my building and my district, thanks to some thoughtful redesign by our district. We have so many awesome people leading now. #ProDriven

A8: My dream job would be to be a PD facilitator/speaker in the area of the importance of involving parents in their child's education starting early on (PreK) and the tools involved in facilitating that. #ProDriven But for now, I'm happy working with my littles. #ProDriven
Glad I could drop in tonight. Always a great chat here! Thinking about moderating one day when my schedule relaxes a bit! Thanks @iCoachKate and @jbormann3#ProDriven
