This chat is for coaches of all levels interested in professional learning and networking and sponsored by @SidelinePower and the host of the #PoweredUp Clinic #TXHSFBCHAT
Tonight's topic is Choose and Explain. You will be presented two plays in each question. Pick the one you want in your offense and explain why. Should be fun! #TXHSFBCHAT

A1. IZ. Quicker hitting , more north south , easier to block , backs with vision can be successful as opposed to OZ where back has to be fast or oline has to be quick to block it. #txhsfbchat
A1 thatâs a very difficult choice for me. I am a âzone guyâ I cut my teeth running zone and only zone and I feel to be successful you have to be able to do both in any situation #TXHSFBCHAT
A1: I think I want to do more Outside Zone this next yr. I think you get bigger creases and it is better with the RPO game and not having to worry about having OL upfield. #txhsfbchat
Inside Zone: Every inside run play (including my gap scheme plays) are based off of the inside zone rules that I use. It's rock in which the run game is built upon in the offense that I run. #txhsfbchat
A1 - have done both and will continue to use both. Wide Zone needs a RB that reads well and is patient. IZ is more of a vertical press and easier for the RB.

Digging the Thundercats theme....Hooooo!!!!
Thundercats and Transformers at 4:00 and 4:30 after school were the bomb way back in the day.
#txhsfbchat
A1). I love Inside Zone especially with it tied into our RPO part of our offense. Itâs a quick play and it allows us to make our reads fast and get the ball in and out of the air when we throw. #TXHSFBCHAT
Hey #TXHSFBCHAT, we are releasing a new playbook product for you TONIGHT! This is the playbook software you've been waiting for.
Check it out here: https://t.co/vy0eYdO0mD
A1. IZ for me. Never seem to get the OL to hold the frontside block for OZ coming across the formation. Rather hit OZ fast like with a Lead Zone concept. #TXHSFBCHAT
A2. Power Weakside becomes strong side with puller at POA allows a slightly smaller OL to use quickness and aggression, technique and momentum to his advantage. Gives a back with vision an option to cut second level and can include a second blocker from anywhere #txhsfbchat
A1: Inside Zone. Letâs get multiple hats on the DL and put our earth movers to work! Add in a 3 way go with the backs...multiple tags/ RPO off it...gotta have it! #TXHSFBChat
Q3 Levels. Pre snap read on the comeback then a post snap read on the trips side. Allows you to make a dual read without really having to stress your QB #TXHSFBCHAT
A3.) I love the levels concept. Especially if theyâre in a cover 2. CB bites on the flat or the corner route. Drop the ball on the outside shoulder. Safety should be deep. If he attacks X, throw it deep. #TXHSFBCHAT
I like both itâs hard to pick one. I love the flood especially with a mobile QB that can throw on the roll. With levels I can tag certain people to things with levels. #txhsfbchat
A3: Iâve always like when teams run drop back flood and sprint flood. Providing vertical stretch and a rhythm bench but adding the protection of a speed out can build to a qbâs confidence #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: Flood! Make it look like power with POP protection. Roll out with it looking like Zone. But Iâm a fan of space...find it...exploit it! #TXHSFBCHAT
Q3. At the high school level I would say flood because you can roll out and cut the field in half. Also you can make flood a concept and get to those same spots from multiple formations. #TXHSFBCHAT
We will make a lock call which tells the tackle to block out on the back side end. The qb will then read the backside LB. If he goes over the top play side the qb runs up in the void. #txhsfbchat
Well, that's another advantage of Outside Zone. You can read the backside DT easier than you can with Inside Zone. On IZ, the DT can play both easier because they are not that far apart.
#txhsfbchat
A4: Mesh. If everyoneâs covered it gives the quarterback the opportunity to scramble. If a defense game plans for the snag concept, could be tough to get completions. Iâm a high schooler and trying to soak up as much as I can! Take it easy on me guys #TXHSFBCHAT
A4. I am a snag guy I think it's really easy for a qb and is usually a quick throw so puts less pressure on the Oline to hold blocks. Again you can tag stuff for a home run shot against certain looks. #TXHSFBCHAT
This is like picking between a snicker and a Mr. Goodbar lol. I love both!!! Snag read are very easy can run it out of many formations. Mesh 𤤠I ran it out of every formation. It creates a lot of issues for the LBs. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Snag. Great for getting that better athlete matchup with the LB. makes for a nice RPO with Zone/ Trap/ Pin Pull away. Sometimes mesh takes longer to develop so not great for weaker/ younger OL #TXHSFBCHAT
Q4. Tough one here but mesh works well in 7on7 and when you have protection. Conversely snag works in any setting. 2 WR snag/3 WR snag/ 1 RB 1 WR/ 1 RB 2 WR/ RPO Snag/ #3 runs bubble/ #3 runs a flat. Endless Possibilities #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: I love Levels in the Red Zone but I REALLY love the Flood concept. It is one of the very best Pass plays to have in your Offense and it is so versatile and it is excellent to run with Play-Action. #txhsfbchat
we have set WR rules for IZ- depending on formation, field/boundary, solo WR. Rules are very simple and we rep is ALOT. Play side is RPO and backside is pre snap read/gift thrown #txhsfbchat
This is always a fun chat tonight Gents!

A4: Have to go with Snag.
1. Easier play to protect and
2. Has answers vs both Zone and Man.
Mesh vs Zone = Fail! Am I right, @CoachDubMaddox? #txhsfbchat
A5: IMO depends on your QB I personally like speed option anytime you have a QB that can run that effectively t the HS level you are sure to win some games. #txhsfbchat
A5. Speed option. Fast, puts two best players on O (usually) in space right away. Option to throw or shovel inside attacks perimeter quickly decisively. Not boring đ #txhsfbchat
