That's exactly why I get to know my students. #edcamp had a shirt that I bought that says Love First Teach Second. You must have those relationships first then you will be able to teach.

#edcamp was so much fun and so informative. Us TOCers decided to get out of our comfort zones & host a chat. We were SHOCKED at how many educators came to lend their insight to us as future teachers. @TSunyow#lgbteach
@SUNYOldWestbury TOC members were empowered by learning about creating inclusive classroosm for LBGTQ students at #LBGTeach. They even ran a session asking seasoned teachers to share what they felt future teachers need to know to properly support LGBTQ students.Thanks #edCamp!
Keynote speaker @dr_niri_art was the perfect way to start #edcamp. Informative, engaging and insightful. And, did we mention she can sing?!?! She inspired us to take a moment to really think about the multiple oppressions that many LBGTQ students deal with daily.
Thanks to @deniseemmons2 texting me as she prepared for #EdCampLacey and asking what an #edcamp was like, I was inspired to work on my #sketchnote goal. Later this week a blog will follow.
