Right?! When @MiniMatisse shares a project, she's not messing around. I've been using variations of her 2-point perspective lesson for Y E A R S. And the videos she adds are so helpful! #K12ArtChat

A4: anyone who knows me knows I adore showing students the magical world of oil pastels! I love working with these for landscapes and still life. I also just wrapped up an opened ended/choice based oil pastel unit with 8th graders and they rocked it! #k12artchat
A4 currently making hurricane compositions using oil pastels-vibrant colors, great blending to create new colors and show movement. Inspired by George Rodrique's hurricane series my 4th graders are loving it #K12ArtChat
A2: Have to repeat painting rules and clean up constantly! But kids are getting it. Watercolor blow painting for astronaut hair, acrylic arcade games, middle school agamographs, and kindergarten tempera mousepaint” with their own mice ! #k12artchat
Q7: No… I didn’t forget. We need to highlight FIBERS!! What are your best tips and tricks when it comes to bringing fibers into the classroom! So many people #Cursh on fibers, share your wisdom! #k12ArtChat
A6- I'm skipping to my favorite medium to teach & that my students to use, which is Clay! We use red clay. I started our First Clay Olympics this week! It's been AWESOME, with these events: Team Pug, Indiv. Slab Table, Indiv. Pottery Wheel. #k12artchat
A6 my ss LOVE clay (me... meh) but I always strive to make it fun! Their excitement ales me excited!!! But this #playfoam WE CAN’T GET ENOUGHT!!!! #k12artchat
A5: I'm not a huge fan of chalk, so it is usually my students teaching me more than I am teaching them! O'keefe is always a hit with pastels as well as creative portrait work! #k12artchat
A6 ah, clay, my love. Anything and everything from coils, pinching, slabs, carving, texture, wish my budget allowed more than one project per year per grade. Some polka dot penguins for our Authors in April visit with Lenore Look last year #K12ArtChat
A2: Watercolor! It is a favorite material with all of my students. I introduce watercolor paint at the preschool level. The possibilities are endless! By the time my students reach 5th grade, they’re watercolor pros. #k12artchat
Q8: There was one more medium in the #Crush series. Ink… maybe ink pen, brush ink, printmaking ink, digital prints… How to you use ink in your work/class? #k12ArtChat
A7: I just posted on Fibers today on my #Crush Series...Here is a current lesson I'm working on with 4th grade... RECORDER CASES! https://t.co/rAzegfuQ5X#k12ArtChat
A5 Love using chalk with younger students, but it is definitely messy. My favorite is to use them to practice mixing colors. Kids love graffiti names and I love cosmic art inspired by Peter Max.#K12ArtChat
fibers- The usual tree plates, clay loom, cardboard loom, rag weaving (Ss have fun tearing all the fabric strips), fabric landscapes with scraps. #K12ArtChat
A3- how we use markers, in high school Art 1, is after we use pencil to create our Pointillisms, we go over them in Sharpie. They about a month, but, thru look pretty dang good when we get them finished #k12artchat
This was a crazy idea I had to have my 8th graders do a self-portrait by creating a shoe through slab building. This is my clay #crush shoe #k12ArtChat
For more about this #Crush Series, please visit my blog to see all the lessons highlighted for each of the mediums mentioned tonight. #k12ArtChathttps://t.co/rAzegfMqXv
A6- For more on 'Clay' PLEASE look at my twitter page, @MattCockrellArt as I have been posting videos/ pictures of our First Clay Olympics there this whole week. Our last day is tomorrow! It's been awesome! #k12artchat
A2 I think. Lol I had an amazing time today with gel presses for our texture printmaking. The students LOVED them - couple of the boys wanted there own just to play! #k12artchat
A6: Ah clay! My one true downfall - I don't love it, but I know the kiddos do! We do not have a kiln so we have tried working with air dry clay in the past. One idea that was a success were animal slab boxes! This art teacher needs more clay ideas in her toolbox! #k12artchat
A5- I love teaching Chalk pastel, in Art 1, as it allows for realism to be achieved, with hard work and determination. My students crave this medium. Chalk Pastel has also won Best of Show at our last Two Art Shows! #k12artchat
Thanks! I will pass your kind words along to the artists! These were personal hex signs symbolic of things my ss want to fill their lives with❤️ #k12artchat
A8 Printing ink is great! Never has my class been as quiet and focused as when we did linoleum prints. I was nervous about cutting but we thoroughly discussed and demonstrated safety. Results=awesome! #K12ArtChat
A4: Oil pastels are one of the greatest supplies in my elementary classes. I like to push what the kids can do with detail, line, pattern, and shape. And they're always fascinated by getting sticky while they draw 😷#k12ArtChat
Q7: I’m introducing fibers to mixed media next week- starting with fabric dyeing and embroidery. I’m so excited! Here’s my teacher sample (so far). #k12ArtChat

A8: inks are also super fun to bring into any mixed media work. This portrait background was created by blowing India ink with a straw - simple and the students thought it was super cool! #k12artchat
