Q1) How have your teaching and learning, interests and ideas, been transformed by online education?
#OnlineEd

Apr 13 @ 12:14 PM EDT
A1) Accessibility - once out of college it becomes harder to engage with higher ed - life schedules - online learning bridges gap

Online education is what works for me and my busy schedule, and I seek more internet resources now!

There's a component of this for all of us I think - access, flexibility, technological possibilities :)

Can you tell us more about seeking internet resources? Is it the availability of collections online that helps?

Apr 13 @ 12:17 PM EDT
@jshamsy
Agreed - there was a time when "going back to school" meant stopping work, or attending classes on weekends/evenings only.

It's definitely the easy accessibility. Resources like Edutopia have helped with online courses and my class I teach.

Online libraries and great sites like

make all the difference! Always like to hear from practicing teachers.

#iolchat

exactly..now you can do both. With that being said..I think there is a fine line between being flexible/meeting objectives

fine line in terms of finding a balance in time and effort? Flexible doesn't mean "less time required" (as you know).

Agreed..thinking because school isn't full-time there may be misunderstanding that standards are reduced/less rigorous?

What seems scary is the short term nature of it all - w/online comes more contracting and less long-term?

Everything does seem compressed, doesn't it? Learn more, learn it faster. Teach more, teach it faster.

#iolchat

A3) Oh wow....trip down memory lane. I think it is better & certainly more accepted.
#iolchat

Apr 13 @ 12:43 PM EDT
First online degree was blended - lectures on video tape to watch w/discussions online. Much more integrated today

Time for our last Q ...4) What sort of online education transformations would you like to see in the future?
