TED_ED: Q2 How does exposing our students to a variety of ideas enhance their education?
https://t.co/HjTJzc1mOG #…
-
A2: it allows our students to develop their own thoughts, opinions, and highlight their own interests
-
Multiple pathways to the same destination does something to our brains, those neurons build pathways
-
A2 not just ideas but opportunities to experience them in practice.
-
A2 exposing to a variety of ideas forces students to think critically and evaluate
-
a2: Make it a celebration and give brainstorming its rightfulplace. Show Ss Ah ha moments come from stirring & brewing thoughts
-
Same principle as diversity. Variety of ideas = expanding mindsets + horizons. Invaluable.
-
A2) Exposing Ss to new ideas each day is my whole world! This allows them to think beyond the box of their school comfort zone
-
A2. Plus, you never know what will stick with a kidlet
-
A2: it encourages Ss to research, learn independently, and develop their own thoughts.
-
A2) The more you can get Ss out of classrooms and out there in the trenches, the easier it will be for them to except new ideas
-
they learn to explore, compare, analyze the ideas and come up with conclusions and finally enhance their knowledge
-
A2) The more you can get Ss out of classrooms and out there in the real world the easier it will be for them to accept new ideas
-
A2: My students are excited when they have ownership of their learning and exposure sparks new ideas with my students
-
A2: It can help raise awareness around different ways of thinking and help SS become interested in metacoginition.
-
A2: Exposure to different ideas helps students gain different perspectives - which leads to empathy.
-
-

-
one thing that works well IMO is flipped learning - they do the learning first and we fill the gaps
-
-
-
helping them to identify their own gaps and the need to fill those gaps and then enjoying the benefits of filling them
-
A3 engage them in producing concepts and critical characteristics for a topic / unit they are studying - let them lead
-
A2 my Ss are so excited 2 have voice & choice in their topics, creative visuals & tools 4 presentations! They love
-
by letting them discuss with each other, work with other Ss and interchange knowledge about anything
-
A3 Support Ss in developing higher level ?s and suggesting tools & resources for learning concepts
-
A3 Open-ended inquiries, problem-based learning, modeling yr own learning gaps & how you work daily to bridge them
-
A3: using guided writing or encouraging small gp discussions & allowing SS to identify gaps and where to begin looking for ans.
