A1: This year, I need to FOCUS! I tend to work too much because I'm disorganized. Gotta finish the task at hand and stay on track.
Still thinking about how important this really is... https://t.co/EXRRzU6Wkz
Great thought, Peg. The school day is a holistic experience. Every minute counts.
I'm full focused on keeping everything positive this year. It won't all go well, but we can think together for pos next steps.
Kathy here and I'm trying to bring an to the policy world.
A1. Really thinking about problem-solving, making connections. Lots of prompt dependency and rote memorization to overcome.
Great attitude right here... https://t.co/BCHGqgG0B6
I'm full focused on keeping everything positive this year. It won't all go well, but we can think together for pos next steps.
Please remind me of the topic
Love it Kathy. What can we do to bring our work past where we are, one step at a time?
Kathy, having and sharing an might just change the world!
YES!!! Start with the faculty. Brainstorm together and be meta about how great that feels.
I'm also trying to bring my to a position in MA, just have to open the right door
I'm focused on cultural proficiency--really want to co-construct the classroom w/Ss, listen deeply to them.
I agree! I gotta track the positive more: , postcards, high-fives, personal recognition of effort.
Say that LOUDER please! https://t.co/Edh7kqgh1I

A2 - Our Learners will have more collaborative learning and facilitating so they OWN it.
Bring this to your school! https://t.co/LPalP4y6Qk
In my day job I want to find the intersection of proficiency-based, and science
I actually made it more spacious, empty, open for co-construction w/Ss. What will we create/learn together?
We have pushed new space into the schedule to meet need that teachers felt last year. Hoping it helps.
A2 Ss sitting in pods; collaborative teams is becoming the norm. Get rid of desks & give Ss opportunity to share w/ each other
Independent and Collaborative Learning and Mutual Cooperation. https://t.co/WMs0Ev4I4h
I actually made it more spacious, empty, open for co-construction w/Ss. What will we create/learn together?
Hi - Don - Sorry I'm joining late - MS Principal Long Island

Don, pleased to have you join our Crew tonight!
Be sure you follow and and
A2 I am currently integrating making into one of the instructional sequences I created for 4th grade. Hope I can get it piloted

A2: Trying 's idea of the Think Space to work. Having a separate space for students who need to chill and reflect.
Space for T collaboration?
A2 I want 2 step out of my comfort zone when I think integration, I want to make the learning relevant and meaningful for students
We're using mixed seating--depends on activity.
I knew I'd made a difference when I stopped having to start calls with "[name] is fine..."
Space for vertical content teams. Space for exploratory teams. Space in which to support students.
Nice, I have a cozy space for this w/rug--at elem, we generally have these spaces, not always true in HS
Focus on why anyone should care about the content. Start with the problem and they'll love working the puzzle.
We've seen turn things around for Learners, Parents and Educators! https://t.co/kymQPOaNI9
I knew I'd made a difference when I stopped having to start calls with "[name] is fine..."
Love what mixed aged groups can do together--so much learning.
Relevance and Meaning... https://t.co/D7pYmp3Sq6

I'm blocking you, but Do us all a favor and leave that sort of rhetoric out of chat.

Q3 - How will more Creativity or Innovation be infused into your 16-17 School Year to ignite more learning?
Q2 - How will your Environment be refreshed for the 16-17 School Year (collaborative seating, maker space)
Not all independence is a good thing. Can good coaching "harm"?
Relationships must happen if we want optimum learning
A3 - We're planning to have our Learners create FAs, class Qns and more self-assessing.
A3 going to emphasize that nobody says you have to be an expert-try new approaches that research says will work - be a learner
I need to start an inspiration thread--and add this link and others.
WEdnesdays at 9. It's a classic chat. Great crowd.
A3: I gotta catch up with the innovation and go paperless. It's time. I've resisted too long. Gotta get on board.
But we should have something like this for big kids too! https://t.co/ldEFFbkNar
Nice, I have a cozy space for this w/rug--at elem, we generally have these spaces, not always true in HS
Q3. I have more space this year - means I can make more dedicated spaces - better for my VI Ss.

A3 important for the principal to encourage risk-taking /?creativity
Yes, I'll see how it goes. Predict it will be overused, so need to think though parameters.

I'm betting it will even out after time or make great use of it.
Our principal encouraged us to try Global Cardboard Challenge--it was a big success, now a tradition.
I've begged my home district for multi-age. I'm not sure why anyone isn't on board.
Q3. Working on using our student-centered instructional strategies to build individual post-secondary plans/goals & transition .
We are 1:1 with chromebooks now, and the kids are used to them, so now's the time to really step it up.
A3 I'm going to push my team at the Agency to be more open minded to help schools get out of the boxes they think are the answer
I really like Google Forms--so many good ways to use w/Ss. and for Ss to use too
FA = Formative Assessment
SA = Summative Assessment
SBL = Standards-Based Learning

multi-age for all learning or for selected times?
Q4 - How will Communication be heightened for the 16-17 School Year (shared Google docs, Questioning, )?
I'm scheduled to join tomorrow at Peabody Middle School for a 2-hour Chromebook workshop. https://t.co/apfYCWhnlG
Our chromebooks just got to the building. I'm very psyched. Ppl are starting to get the fever.
I'm going to have to step back the tech this year. Trigger for too many Ss in the room.
Let me know if you make any changes--so we can continue to grow the idea.
I'm fine with starting as group-regroup, especially in math, but I can go either way.
A4 - One of my SMART Goals is to made to EVERY Learner this year! I can do this!
I guess I believe everyone has room to grow and benefits from an extra set of eyes.
We all have room to Grow, Respect, Learn, Listen, Accept and Share. https://t.co/mWaPhy2X3x
I guess I believe everyone has room to grow and benefits from an extra set of eyes.
Even in my most foolishly arrogant times, I've asked for feedback and advice.
A4: Will make sure parents know about . It's invaluable with my kids. Some parents would like to be on it too.
We write a grade-level newsletter each week and send to family members, colleagues. Helps to foster team.
I just read about via . Anyone use it?
I'd like our Learners to contribute to a blog to share our collaborative learning. https://t.co/QQb4J4rTh3

a4. has been a great communication tool. Want to get more of S teams involved.
We're trying to get control of our website from the district so that we tell stories as we know them.
I'd really like to get the Ss involved more--I always welcome them, but we/they run out of time.
I get that! https://t.co/5SOg0LBd58
I'd really like to get the Ss involved more--I always welcome them, but we/they run out of time.
I'd really like to try, but I don't think we'll do it this year for a number of reasons.
Flexible groups ! https://t.co/6vv5xrMg8L
I'm fine with starting as group-regroup, especially in math, but I can go either way.

Oh, I'm like the bogeyman. I'm always lurking where you can't see me 😁
