A2-One of my classes really gave me a run for my money this year. I challenged all my students to show growth on NWEA this year. That class that took all my teacher ninja skills, 90% of them grew by the end of the year!! It made it that much more worth it!! #122edchat

A2: A 3rd gr. who really responded to the new way of learning phonics through @IMSEOG. He went from barely coping words to writing on his own with phonetic or correct spelling to really working and understanding how to read as well. Most progress he has ever made. #122edchat
A2 Simple shift to just giving dedicated independent reading time and having convos with kids about good books, bad books, next reads, etc. We made reading a priority (as much as I could afford to in 50 minute periods). I think I helped to create more readers. #122edchat

A2: My class created Maker projects and hosted a school maker faire - they had over 650 kids/adults come through and see their projects and talk to them about the process and test some out with hands on demos #122edchat

A3 My grade partner is an amazing collaborator. After our students read Animal Farm, we came up with the idea for our students to look at the Animal Farm comic @JohnLangArt made & create comics about books that impacted them. Like #LettersAboutLiterature in comic form! #122edchat
A2. I had that Ss who had some problems in with learning with writing, goofing around, parent said his T said complaints about him. Working with him, verbally he was able to express himself and actually led the class quite well with discussions! #122edchat

A2: I taught my friend #gamification and she did it with her 6th grade sci class. The result was AMAZING! The level of engagement soared, homework problem nearly disappeared and so much more! Now 5th graders are asking to do the same. #122edchat

A4: The gentleman that cleans my room, Bong, is simply amazing. He works hard to make sure our room is tidy and really clean. He is kind to the kids and always has a warm hello for us in the morning. I hold him in high regard. #122edchat

A4: The general assistant in our building, Cynthia McArtis, is AMAZING! She greets Ss for breakfast duty, assists in the clinic, provides coverage for Ts to attend meetings, meets with struggling readers to provide additional support, maintains our reading room. . . #122edchat

A4: I would have to say our school's bookkeeper...she has been such a HUGE help with library budgets and helping us get the most out of our money! #122EdChat#punkrocklibrarian
My math department chair took a leap of faith to go with the computerized curriculum this year he did it because it was best for the students and he implemented it and took some grief lots of praise but he forged ahead because it was simply for the students #122edchat
A4b Yes, our office staff is amazing as is our custodial staff! A day does not go by when I am not shooting the sh*t with Hector and Cesar and Victor...they are my buds! (pardon my cussing) #122edchat

A5: I will celebrate ME by getting a much needed massage, heading to MI for overdue #family time then to IL for #ISTE2018 , and MN for @flipgrid LIVE .... but for realz - I'll also be catching up on sleep, and reading Culturize to continue chatting with #122edchat

I just wanted to take a moment and let my pal @megan_hacholski know she has made a huge impact on the culture of our school. Our students were so lucky to have you. We are all lucky to have worked with you!! You will be missed!! #122EdChat
A2 - first trimester I did a unit on the brain. Ss had to research a brain disease/disorder, create infographic then put together a five minute presentation. Most of my Ss chose a brain disease/disorder that affected them or their family in some way. Powerful stuff #122edchat

A4 Maria Dowler is a lady who does everything for everyone at MHS. She has a heart of gold and is one of the kindest persons I have ever met. #122edchat
A5 There is no special celebration except the gift of time to gear up for another go. As I do every summer, I work on the next school year. I catch up on edu-reads, gather colleagues 2gether for #EduSummerCamp to work on shared goals, have friend & family time & sleep! #122edchat
A3 - my guy Doug (again not on SM). His chess team made it to Nat’ls and two Ss placed in top 40. Nothing like our #alted Ss realizing there is NO DIFFERENCE between them and their counterparts #122edchat
A5: Make sure to take time and reflect on all that was accomplished this year. We had some highs and lows, but our Ss definitely had “glows” and “grows”. I’m proud of everything new that I tried and am blessed to end the year on a positive note! #122edchat

A5: I start with reflection and I had a lot of growth this year. I get to do something a bit different this summer...I’m spending 3 days by myself (haven’t had time to myself in a long time)...then two trips...Texas and California. #122edchat
A4 our support staff is phenomenal. But I like to give lots of kudos to our custodial and maintenance folks. They just don’t seem to get enough credit yet they always work hard long hours and it seems like they are forgotten when the thank you‘s are given out #122edchat
A5. I like to reflect, and try and remember what the Ss were most interested in for topics in learning, to utilize for planning, and take some of their comments of likes and suggestions for activities to do! #122edchat
A4 - our Support Staff, MMR we call them (Marie, Maddy and Rob) keep our ship moving regardless of the conditions. They know exactly when things need to get done, oftentimes before the rest of us. Not sure how we’d make it without them #122edchat
A5: Lots of ocean time and since I’m “home” in Southern California, today on my walk I went by my elementary, jr. high and high schools and then to some of my “spots” listening to 70’s music. It was so fun! #122edchat
