Thank you for visiting #ksedchat. We welcome all educators to our chat that runs Mondays at 8 p.m. Central. Though many of our educators have their homes in Kansas, all teachers are welcome to pop in and join in on the learning.
A2: I am constantly sharing on my insta and showing them my FB, Twitter, and snaps so I can be a positive model. I also call them out when I see something I don't like. I let them know when they are being poor citizens and friends. #ksedchat
A3: We recently became 1:1 chromebooks at our grade level. Digital responsibility is talked about daily in my classroom. I don't have explicit lessons, just little bits woven into my existing plans. #ksedchat
A4: It's hard for 6th Grade. They are very gullible. I try to talk about credible sites and double checking facts. I've used @Newsela in the past and it does a good job of balancing views in a safe digital space. #ksedchat
A5: Educating parents and teachers on how to teach this. We don't have enough PD or community outreach for digital citizenship. Too many teachers and parents shy away and let kids have free reign with no parameters or consequences for negative behavior. #ksedchat
