Howdy #EduAR from Barbara, school counselor and author of What's Under Your Cape? in Texas, where the @KidsForPeace team built us a Peace Garden and Playground!
It’s the 3rd, maybe?? I’m not planning on it for sure cuz I have some family commitments - but it’s a possibility!! We could carpool part way if I do!! #eduAR
A1: If Time is on my side, I feel that I do not have to rush in order to complete the task at hand or I have ample time to support or help a particular person/program grow. #EduAR
Haha!! I’ve never been to Arkansas but if everyone is as amazing as you, @bethhill2829 & @SavageLizabeth... I can only imagine it would be a great place to work!

A1) For me it means I am doing what is best to ensure that all students are successful. I value every second to be the difference in the lives of my students. #EduAr
A1: Every one has exactly the same amount of time every day; we need to make friends with the minutes we're given rather than bemoan those that have slipped away or that we don't think we have in abundance. 86400 seconds every day to embrace life and be passionate! #eduAR
A1 time on my side; we all have the same amount of time. Everyone has 24 hour days. We use our time for what we value. If we have time on our side, we have the gift of ample time #EduAr
A2) Time is everything in education. There is so little time, and so much to do--literally, there are lives at stake. But, at the same *time*, we have to remember to take time to build relationships and cultivate joy with our students. Tough to balance! #eduar
A2 careful planning - intentional lesson & experience design all must fit realistically into a pre-determined timed schedule; the challenge using time for relationships that actually connect the learning to kids ❤️#EduAr

A2 ; It is one of our biggest resource and we have to learn to master it to be effective. It's seems like , our time is not our own but we can manage the beast if we work at it! #eduar
A2: best advice I ever got was that time is the variable, students are the constant. Time revolves around them, not the other way around.would I ever want to say I would have loved to have helped this child read but there just wasn’t time? #eduar
A2: An effective educator helps fill in the cracks of a school, such as tutoring Ss, mentoring, coaching and without extra time these things can’t happen. #EduAR
A2 Our teaching days are split up into different kinds of time: Planning time, teaching time, Conference time, Lunch time, travel time....We need to figure out how to use each block of time to the fullest to best meet the needs of our Ss. #eduAR
A2 #EduAR as an effective educator I think that you definitely need to find a good balance when considering time used in all aspects of your life and find the best balance that works for you and your family
A2: I think it’s vital for Ts to maximize the time they have!! There’s so much to do & it’s important to prioritize & utilize all available time to accomplish tasks! #eduar
A3 By being so passionate about our Ss and content that WE are the distraction that engages the class during our instructional time. #eduAR Maybe a little #tlap ?
A3 #EduAR we need to teach our kiddos to be as flexible as we are in the world of education, to roll with the punches by teaching bell to bell and modeling to our kiddos to and meet and greet interruptions with grace and turn them into learning experiences
A3: Ts can do a lot to manage distractions but admin has to prioritize instructional time. The # of announcements & interruptions I see on some campuses is crazy. #eduar
A3: We utilize CHAMPS at school! It establishes clear expectations for Ss & helps maximize instructional time because Ss always know what’s expected of them for each task! #EduAr
Q3 As a building leader I have to make sure that teachers are supported and allowed to engage students in high levels of learning every moment possible. Less disruptions to the schedule with fluff and bigger blocks of uninterrupted instructional time are crucial! #eduar
A3) I love how Ron Clark says "beware the 'bundt-cake-teacher'!" Don't lose valuable time to those who want to bring you down. Keep your chin up, nose to the grindstone, and eyes on the prize: student success. #eduar

Life is not distraction free therefore having a learning environment distraction free is not sensible. Teach students how to navigate distractions while keeping on task. #EduAr
A2 #EduAR we can’t eliminate distractions but instead teach kiddos how to handle them more successfully as life is filled with them and they need to learn how to cope in the real world!!
A4: I think it's because time is such a precious gift. I think it's important that we spend our time playing more, doing more magical and whimsical things, being intentional about how we spend those precious moments. Practice #mindfulness to help capture those worries. #eduAR
A4: Many Ts feel that there’s not enough time in the day to accomplish all that needs to be down! I’m very scheduled orientated & keep a to-do list so I maximize my time & don’t feel like I’ve fallen behind! #EduAr
Q4 Because we all worry about this one thing, " are we doing enough...." And time is, in most cases is our enemy when it comes to doing enough for our kids! #eduar
A4 Because of the inordinate number of things that we have to accomplish each day. Ss should be the biggest thing on our plates despite the other things we are 'required' to do. #eduAR
A4) It's the one of the few things that money *really* can't buy. Truth be told, we educators can put things off as long as we want, but like our fearless hero @JohnnyKey_AR said, time isn't on the side of many of our kiddos. #eduar
A4: bc sometimes we tend to focus on getting all the small activities done rather than ensuring the big concepts are learned. Sometimes the practices with most impact take less time...but they seem too easy. #eduar
A4, I’m always hard on myself if my Ss run short on time. There is a whole lot of inner reflection on how to fix it for the following class- what to change, leave out, split into multiple sessions, etc #eduar
A4: Pushing back a bit ...because my #oneword is engage...
I think too often we use "time" as an excuse. WE must prioritze, be intentional and utilize the time we have to make the BIGGEST impact we can. #eduar
A5: I think establishing routines & procedures is essential!! We focus the 1st 2 weeks of school on practicing what’s expected for EVERYTHING! The intentional focus to practice then saves tremendously time throughout the year! #EduAR
A4: There are so many demands put on teachers by people who have forgotten what its like to be in a classroom, or have never been in a classroom. Those people just don't get it! #eduAR

A5: I spend time in classrooms listening and learning. Take my office with me and answer emails while on the move. I feel more productive and in touch with the heart of what is going on in our building. #EduAr
A5) Vulnerable moment here-- this is my downfall. I *always* have the best laid plans for student agency. My kids are so GOOD at asking good questions, that *I* always end up collecting the papers, cleaning up the materials, etc! #eduAR

A5 #eduar I am a very strong believer in taking the time to teach things correctly in the first place (ie teach to’s for routines and procedures) and that it will in turn save you time in the long run!!
A5: I save time by working in classrooms instead of an office. It helps my heart big time. Grab my backpack and sometimes a rolling office and hit the halls. #EduAR
A5, There is always so much stuff Ss need to use to create! I make sure it is bundled as much as possible and assign jobs so the supplies are quick to get out. #eduAR

It keeps me sane! I gave up my office this year. I have a phone and a desk in our conference room, so I use that space when I need to make phone calls and after school when I work. #EduAR
A6) Close your door, turn off your tv, turn off your wifi. Get the papers graded and the lessons planned, then you can hang out with your colleagues. The kids. are. everything. #eduAR
Q 6 To learn to prioritize. Every issue or task is not urgent or important! It is ok to take things off your plate and learn to say , "no" to things! #eduar
A6:my #oneword for 2018- FOCUS. Follow One Course Until Successful. Make a plan and follow through. I’ve had to get myself back to that, and it works. Plans may be adjusted, but focus on what is in front of you. #eduar
A6) Ooo! And get plenty of rest. We educators often forget how much more efficient we are when we get a good night's sleep! Speaking of...thanks #eduar for a great conversation!
Slow and steady has won a race or two. :). It’s not about the time. It’s about the learning. It’s not about the product. It’s about the process. It’s not about limits. It’s about experiences. You ROCK when you throw out the CLOCK. #EduAr
A6, As a person with TM struggles, timers are great for EVERYTHING! I made a point to know the time I need to be finished instructing and know the time I need to give them a warning before clean up. #thestruggleisreal#eduAR

A6: Understand that you'll never have an empty to-do list. Do what you can, when you can, the best you can. Breathe, smile and enjoy the journey. #EduAR
Thank you #EduAr. Always an inspiring hour - but who’s keeping “time” 😐. Every educator on the planet should join this on Thursday nights. Seriously. Have a fabulous Friday #EduAr

Thx. On a personal note, for me time management is the difference between when I'm working and when I'm on vacation. On vacation, I dawdle, dabble, get distracted, and don't time manage. Sometimes, I spend an hour thinking about nothing...Q6 #eduAR
