Q1: How do you identify the reason why your school fundraises?

A1. All of our fundraisers are conducted through our parent organization and used for playground maintenance or supporting Ts 
 
 
 
- 
 A1: our student council fund raises for school spirit. Our K-kids fund raise for FMSC.
 
 
 
- 
A1. We also have fundraisers to reduce the cost of our 5th grade overnight field trip. 
 
 
 
- 
 A1: student council has been able to purchase a mascot costume, Spartan Flag, a painting, and a little library! Spirit!

A1: We are a new school so we NEED a lot of things....

Q3: Share out some fundraising ideas you have used that were successful at your school?

 A3: we do a bi-annual Culver's Night. Ts and admin serve the community. 10% of register goes to our school
 
 
 
- 
A3. We have used Coca-Cola, Krispy Kreme, Amish Recipes, Kona Ice, & Butter Braids as fundraisers. 
 
 
 
- 
A3. We've also sold Texas Roadhouse gift cards and peeler cards or discount cards.

A3. We have fall festivals and spring flings which bring a big crowd and raise lots of $ in a single evening.

A3. This year we tried selling laundry detergent.  Not a good turnout the first try...going to try again in spring.

Q3: What has been your favorite fundraiser that you have been apart of? 
 
 
 
- 
A3: We have done peeler cards, great American magazines, Little Lambs cookie dough, Zumbathon, silent basket auction.

 A3: we had a Halloween Carnival. Admission was a canned food for pantry. We raised a ton of food for people in need. Not $ but...

A3. My favorite fundraiser of all time was Donkey Basketball. Can't use that one anymore due to liability though. :(

 a3.  The Book Fair is always my favorite!

A3: planning a spring fling, paragon gifts, inaugural ornaments, yo-dots. Whew!

 a3 My AP and I let Ss throw cupcake whipped cream pies in our face for the Fall Festival. Huge lines!

Has anyone done the duct tape fundraiser where students buy a piece of duct tape to tape the principal to a wall?

A3. We also do spirit nights at Chick Fil A, Zaxby's and Mr. Gatti's.

 I've heard of that! Never done it.  would totally do it.

A3. Another popular fundraiser is our Jr. Pro basketball program...it's a lot of work though.

Q4: What has been something that you have used as a result of a successful fundraiser?

 I've seen a lot of pics. I am super claustrophobic so I don't think I could handle it.

 depends on how long we have to hang up there!

 My AP has done it at another school. Her big lesson was wear long sleeves.

Q4: How have you used the funding that was raised? Some have already answered this.

A4. We have used the funds to add mulch to our playground which is expensive and to replace equipment on the playground. 
 
 
 
- 
A4. We've also used funds to reduce the costs of field trips for all students. 
 
 
 
- 
A4: we buying school signs, printer ink, playground equipment so far. Hopefully our current fundraiser we can get a mascot!

A4. The parent organization also uses some money for teacher appreciation week.

A4. Teachers and school clubs are also allocated funds that they can use for their classrooms.

Q5: If students are involved in the fundraising activity, are they learning about the concept of philanthropy?

 A4: the mascot purchase has been great! We've had a lot of fun with it!

A5. Our last Kona Ice fundraiser was a can food drive...bring a can food item and get a $ off your Kona Ice. 
 
 
 
- 
 A5: our K-kids (Jr. Kiwanis) are all about service. This year all proceeds go to FMSC. Great cause!

 a5 yes. We do a lot of fundraising for Tiger Christmas, St Jude, the local Needline, and Special Olympics

A5: we are in the middle of a Christmas canned food drive right now. Over 700 cans so far!

 Before we sign off, what is a holiday tradition at your school? Let's hear some great ideas!

A4. We do a lot of fundraising for community organizations. Collecting for Toys for Tots and hats/mittens/scarves right now.

 a5 we are in a canned food drive right now too! Our goal is 2000 cans! We lack a little over 400. 
 
 
 
-

Our entire staff acts out the 12 Days of Christmas for the Ss on the last day before break and then we sing carols with the Ss.

The staff has an annual Christmas breakfast before school on the last day and enjoys food & fellowship before the holidays.

 MMS Tiger Band Concert, Secret Santa with Staff, Winter Gathering, Ugly Sweater, sugar them up on Friday & send them home
 
 
 
- 
We have Secret Santa every year...it's optional and participation is declining, but it's there for those that want to. 
 
 
 
- 
Lots of grade levels do December Holidays Around the World. I'm teaching the KG about Germany this week.

 Snowball Dance, PBIS Winter Minute to Win It games last day, Office Staff Cracker Barrell Breakfast
