The #educoach hashtag is used by instructional coaches around the world. We chat each Wednesday at 8pm CST on Twitter and use the hashtag throughout the week to share resources, ask questions and collaborate with instructional coaches.
A1: I'm most proud of the variety of offerings I facilitated to meet the "public teaching" component of our teachers' PD at one of my schools! https://t.co/b25lfAbT0P#educoach
A2: At one of my schools, I have found they are really resistant to any formal PD. Working with the principals to reshape culture and offerings in the spring. #educoach
A2- encouraging those great teachers who are resistant to change to make a shift! Same for those who don’t think they’ve got it within them to do it! #educoach
That's unfortunate! I find really strong teacher can often get the MOST benefit from coaching cycles. Then they can help spread their awesomeness! #educoach

Our literacy team has helped set the goals of PD. Some has been required because of a grant. What's weird is many teachers in the school are receptive to 1-on-1 coaching. They hate PD. #educoach
A2 Time & resistance are always the most difficult. At the regional level we aren’t based on a campus & everything must fit a schedule We’re also not contracted by Ts seeking support but rather As with Ts they want to get support. It can be tricky to gain trust this way #educoach
Wonder if it’s because of lack of voice and choice? Whereas with coaching, it’s differentiated based on needs of teacher/students. Hmm...interesting challenge! #educoach
A3: I am really suffering from "imposter syndrome" -- even after almost 7 years experience, plenty of progress w/ Ts, and some nice accolades. I can still let one bad (or neutral!) moment shake me! #educoach
A3 I think I can always grow through coaching in the partnership approach. I believe it’s the best, but the fixer/control freak in me doesn’t always allow for this approach to feel natural. #educoach#instructionalcoaching

I think that's part of it. I think PD doesn't feel meaningful because there was not strong vision w/ previous admin. New admin are forming a vision, so I think there is potential. #educoach
A4: What questions could you have ready to promote reflection? "What went well?" "What surprised you?" "What would you do differently next time?" #educoach
I have to talk down my inner fixer a lot. A problem with that too is it affects us all psychologically as we feel we FAIL if we cannot fix. We SIMPLY cannot fix though. #educoach
@kennycmckee - Another very common feeling. Yet, remember, coaches don't need to be the expert. We are partners. I was once reminded we are like ducks on water. We keep things looking smooth, are paddling like heck underneath the water. #educoach
A5: do further investigation- get feedback, get a clearer picture (video is an awesome tool for this), and figure out how I might measure it for a goal. #educoach
Sometimes as a coach, I feel like The Receiver in the novel The Giver. The Receiver holds all the others' horrible memories and experiences to protect the stability of those around him. Is that crazy? #educoach
A5 I just added a page to my #bulletjournal with 3 columns. Headings: goal, action, purpose. Next month I think I will add a 4th column: results. #educoach
A5: I actually write down all of my goals, and I use a 0-5 number system to rate them. This tells me where I've succeeded, where some effort would make a big difference, and what I might want to take off my plate. #educoach
A6: I am continuing my focus on health. I lost 15 lbs during the first semester and met most exercise goals. In the spring, I want a bit more running and a little less caffeine. #educoach
A7 By making time for me and my health again, reinstating my miracle morning routine and pouring into the health and fitness groups I coach- they always cause me to do better for my self. #educoach
A7 I have a goal to get back to blogging more and sharing coaching resources via newsletter, twitter, #virtualcoaching, etc so others can SHINE. #educoach
A7: I am signing up for a bunch of races throughout the year. I call it "health insurance." I am doing the "marathon" version of this series: https://t.co/LkPScEsfXD#educoach
A6/A7: Goal of getting back into writing more frequently as well as tackle a couple more half marathons. I’ll get there by carving out intentional time for both! #educoach
A7: I think it’s important to realize that negativity and frustrations aren’t often directed at you but often times delievered to you. So, it’s important to listen without taking things personally. #educoach
A9: The principal has explained to the teachers that he sees a benefit from me working with them. It's not the most organic way, but it may be the only way! #educoach

A10: For my group of resistant teachers, I will need to really focus on data-based, neutral discussions. I will also need to do positive self-talk in my car each morning to remind me of the immense capacity they have to be powerful forces in students' lives. #educoach
Yes. I think good coaching only happens when you believe in the person you coach. Sometimes that is given, and sometimes I have to have "sit-down" with myself beforehand. #educoach
A10: I found a habit app that might help. So far, I'm using the winter break vacation excuse for my health goals... Sorry to jump in and out of #educoach tonight...
