Wednesday March 30, 2016 9:00 PM EDT
Welcome to ! Connie from NY-excited to be here w/ my P Jon, , to discuss Teacher Driven PD! https://t.co/lMgKkFp1Xp
Good evening everyone! Thank you for having us! Jon Sanfratello, principal of Batavia CTE Center, NY, GM w/ .
Great to be here w/ tonight discussing Teacher Driven PD! https://t.co/dSeQvgcF2g
Rachel, T and Tech Integrator from NY! Excited that is moderating tonight!
Thank you all so much for joining us this eve! I'm Jonathan & I co-org with . Ready to talk PD https://t.co/AAA3GDnmWW
Sean from Orland Park IL - Co-organizer of w/ and excited for and to GM tonight's chat.
Steve the PD Guru is in the house tonight!
Glad you could join us tonight Steve.
Q1: As we REFLECT on PD how can we encourage teachers to share their honest opinions w/ administration? https://t.co/Er5pEmT0hr
Looking forward to learning from you!
Yes, Rachel. This is how I started this journey. The feedback from teachers is crucial. https://t.co/Cgzftw7rXj
A1 I think offering a Google Form might be one way to ask for feedback. If you ask the right questions, feedback is valuable
Share our individual honest opinions with administrators and tell others about it.
Dan, business teacher from St. Louis. Ready for some !
A1: I think Ts tend to be afraid of saying what they really feel b/c of repercussions. Anonymous feedback can be a good thing
Hi Dan! Glad you're here. Love our regulars.
Use a format or “frame” like: Opinion --> Reason(s) --> Evidence
Steve, yes. It has to be honest or no change will take place. I love honest feedback to grow. https://t.co/P5lZPcmnN7
Share our individual honest opinions with administrators and tell others about it.
A1: Leaders need to build relationships w/ T's so they fell comfortable sharing their opinions w/o fear of reprisal.
Welcome Dan! Glad to have you join us this evening as we talk Teacher Driven PD.
Dawn from NY checking in!
Yes, Sean. I have used both and it works for our building. It works and staff, like Connie, are honest. https://t.co/Kf7q08yH40
A1: I think Ts tend to be afraid of saying what they really feel b/c of repercussions. Anonymous feedback can be a good thing
A1: Use a format or “frame” like: Opinion --> Reason(s) --> Evidence
A1: allow Ts to see that they can express their feelings within any kickback. We usually fill out a survey at the end.
Our principal started on similar route. Asking Ts what they wanted for PD content this year. Great 1st step.
Hello! Excited to be here with you all!
https://t.co/2wbwVwKhEL
A1: If the As are worth their weight in salt, they welcome constructive feedback so that Ts are having their needs met.
A1: A1: Ask your administrator to ask everyone for their honest opinions.
A1: Re: “Kickback-free response”: Secure a commitment from your administrator for non-judgmental response.
A1: T's need to know what they need 1st. What is meaningful for them.
A1: Ask your Admin to be a part of the PD design process. Then any constructive criticism isn't OF them but of how PD can evolve
I started when I first become principal. I agree 1st great step. It begins to build trust. https://t.co/z9DhCF1PzJ
Our principal started on similar route. Asking Ts what they wanted for PD content this year. Great 1st step.
I think this is easier said than done. Many T's I know are "afraid" to share honest opinion.
If Admin look for honest feedback & Ts can support negative feedback, then it's valid. Important for Ts to feel valid
Amen to this Rachel! https://t.co/kHsdn99etq
A1: I think that if Ts want to seek out , then they should seek out teacher voice.
yes. Completely anonymous. Ts can then fully express their feelings.
What type of response have you had? Do most fill out the survey?
A1: I think that if Ts see action from their feedback than they grow more comfortable with offering more of their opinions
A1 Jumping in late. 4th 5th grade classroom T. Adm who build relationships & provides multiple avenues for comm gets feedback
Jumping in late. Jarod Borman. Tech Integration Specialist in NE IA.
Yes, then hopefully build on that too. Build all PD around what T’s want & choice.
Need to ensure people analyzing survey are on the same "open minded" boat. Discuss negative comments openly
A1: B4 going anonymous think about the relationship between anonymity, honesty, and trust.
A2: Let them be part of PD.. submitting ideas.. volunteering to present PD
A2: A building-wide agreement that all PD will be developed by teachers.
Yes Kali-agreed! If we share opinions & nothing happens we will B more reluctant @ share in the future! https://t.co/wUaVvXal2j
A1: I think that if Ts see action from their feedback than they grow more comfortable with offering more of their opinions
So Ts would response with their Opinion, give reason for it, and then cite evidence?
Ts are more apt to share when they see adm act upon comments/suggestions/requests. Frequent face-to-face check ins are essential
Yes! PD can’t be opposite of what T’s want. It will crush any hopes of change and innovation.
Welcome Jarod! Glad to have you aboard tonight!
A2: An agreement only to pursue PD based on something that is already working in the building.
A2: Structure PD as (Teachers Teaching Teachers) so peers educate peers. PD shouldn't be one to many but one to small group
A2: This is what I use to help Ts identify an instructional weakness in order to make it a strength. https://t.co/4G2CLoPaIP
So true Sean! Great point!
Yes! It can’t be admin vs. T’s or nothing will get accomplished.
A2: T's reaching out to fellow T's. "safety in numbers"! Helps when u have others to share ideas of what can be good for all
A2 Empower Ts to lead PD by giving them the stage @ mtgs. Spotlight T expertise, broadcast to community. Also encourage !
A2: Plan you PD with a teacher team. One from each dept or each grade team. NEVER put design control in one person's hands.
Yes Rachel! Growth occurs when we move outside of our comfort zone. https://t.co/Ic41dVdANb
A2: Ts need to get out of their comfort zone and realize if they seek out and voice needs, PD doesn't just happen to them.
Great insight Tim. If Ts don't see admin act on suggestions or requests, they'll lose faith in this 'open' system
We use this method as an option in “Tech Sessions” during . https://t.co/0H4mA9riuF https://t.co/taC9a0R1x9
A2: Structure PD as (Teachers Teaching Teachers) so peers educate peers. PD shouldn't be one to many but one to small group
Sorry late to join Meg Ormiston from Burr Ridge, IL love Great topic about PD and 1to1
Then use anonymous survey or the culture is fractured?
Hmmmm..... Good point Steve. I think in some environments it still feels too threatening to T's to be honest.
Also great reinforcement for 21st century learning skills. Don't just give a comment or idea - back it up w/ research
Hi! Danielle here! T in alt Ed I always feel empowered when I can submit ideas and share them https://t.co/ljiRXXTLV1
A2: Let them be part of PD.. submitting ideas.. volunteering to present PD
A2: Make it clear that no mass-mandated practices come out of PD. Let people go first who want to go first.
Yes! I believe in a collaborative approach. It should be a team to change PD.
Do you think a "formal" agreement or just an organic agreement?
That levels the playing field, creates comfortable setting; unites co-workers. https://t.co/TMA6vUkxWf
A2: Structure PD as (Teachers Teaching Teachers) so peers educate peers. PD shouldn't be one to many but one to small group
Fortunate to have receptive adm. We write a yr end reflection. Adm writes us back with ideas sparked by our piece.
This is something we're working on in our school right now!
Yes! Ts love it! That's how we do our teacher in service days each year.
I agree 100%! T’s need to feel valid and PD should be for them to grow! https://t.co/lGItQJv0Ac
If Admin look for honest feedback & Ts can support negative feedback, then it's valid. Important for Ts to feel valid
True. So we have to go to what I call "Agreement Zero": The agreement that we will govern ourselves by agreement.
I've heard "If they won't sign their name it's not valid" Couldn't disagree more! Ts need to feel free to share ideas & comments
Just like in the classrooms teams of teachers doing PD can be flexible, not always grade levels or depts
Lucky that our school allocated time for Collaborative Inquiry groups. T groups focused on a question or goal. Great learning.
Yes! Some T's naturally take the lead but we need to ensure that all T's feel comfortable.
A2: have an opportunity to have sessions. Edcamp styles. Allow them to express their passions.
Love this idea of rewarding risk taking Rachel! https://t.co/2LcD3u0N72
A2: We can empower more Ts by rewarding risk taking.
Teacher PD time is so valuable we need to meet everyone where they are, flexibly group, and focus on learning
I've seen open collaboration in cross curricular areas grow a ton since we started PLC's last year.
Agreed! It will be real. Now, if culture is positive, then it wouldn’t matter what is said. https://t.co/GyUPavPPht
yes. Completely anonymous. Ts can then fully express their feelings.
A2 Spotlight the great things other Ts are doing so they can see how amazing they actually are. Many don't think they have much.
We do a digital badge program and give a badge for being a presenter.
Glad you could join us tonight
Yes! Self-organizing teams!
A3: Trust is key. As need to trust that Ts will make T driven PD meaningful and partake in it.
A3: It’s everything. Ts trust admins to provide and protect time for learning. Admins trust Ts to use time allowed.
Q3 is a great one about trust. Every district is so different. Can’t wait for this thread
Have you been able to have an style PD experience? Feedback?
Yes Tim! We did a mini-edcamp last PD day-T's really loved it & many experts' came out of the woodwork! https://t.co/FMDWuYUs2O
A2 Empower Ts to lead PD by giving them the stage @ mtgs. Spotlight T expertise, broadcast to community. Also encourage !
Agreed Kali!! https://t.co/FiLZXS6y1R
A1: I think that if Ts see action from their feedback than they grow more comfortable with offering more of their opinions
Derek checking in from for a minute or 2.
A3: Trust is the only thing that matters. Without it, real change is moot.
I've heard of digital badges but really don't know much about them. Could you tell me more please!
I’m researching a lot about badging for PD, can you share more? https://t.co/yXjUtHPoGY
We do a digital badge program and give a badge for being a presenter.
A3 Districts need to TRUST their Ts to be adults & professionals. Let them do what THEY need, not what DISTRICTS always need.
Not only a threat honesty, but worse. Taking attendance of Ts & keeping in large room so nobody can leave
The problem w/ “PD” is admins blur the lines between “training” and “learning.” Have-to vs. WANT-to.
RETI is all about teacher teams! One of my teammates is in the house w/ us tonight!
Thanks, sorry for the rain delay on my end! Dry now ready to learn! https://t.co/IPNDQHwZmg
Glad you could join us tonight
A3: Covey says, “Trust is about character and competence.” Do we do what we say? Do we do it well? Start here.
Isn't that why the model of PD is taking hold in so many different parts of the world?
If you're afraid Ts are going to leave PD, then maybe you should take a closer look at your PD.
Laughing out loud! We ditched attendance lists-so demeaning to T's!
A3: Agree to the following: "The only way to build trust is to trust." Make, keep, and manage agreements.
Do you find the digital badges work for those Ts who may not exist in the digital world?
Agreed! https://t.co/kHYvAT5NH4
A2: 2 words. Growth Mindset. Ask them to go in with open mind. That usually cinches the deal when they experience T driven PD.
We don't do them, but I know of schools that do. (Even secretly Shhhhhh!)
How is that digital badge program working? I'd love to see one implemented by my district.
Amen! Our T's used to "steal away' but now they actually enjoy conference days!
Great to have a "local" with us.
Ts apply for badges, badges get approved, Ts names get put in a drawing for badges each nine weeks.
I agree Training is “easy” to schedule, real learning is messy, not sequential, but SO fun! https://t.co/vYZsntOahw
The problem w/ “PD” is admins blur the lines between “training” and “learning.” Have-to vs. WANT-to.
I haven't had an style PD in my school, but many friends have & they LOVED it! Makes me want to try.
A3: Trust is KEY;T's need to trust admin,& vice versa. That trust is what empowers all;trust=stepping out of comfort zone=growth
Ts love it! Some have started using badges in their classrooms.
I just did a hybrid of it and held an "open lab" where Ts brought topics they wanted to learn and I trained them.
A1: Spotlighting ideas and presenting them to each other sparks interest with each other during meetings
Such a sad and yet true statement for too many schools and districts! https://t.co/FDDcd1IdPW
The problem w/ “PD” is admins blur the lines between “training” and “learning.” Have-to vs. WANT-to.
I have a system for formal agreement that I've used in many organizations. So I vote for formal.
Yes! We post the badges outside of their rooms. Ts are competitive no one wants to have a door w no badges
Yes! If they want to leave, maybe the issue is more about the lack of *useful* PD.
Make sure you prep Ts for it. Sometimes Ts expect someone to 'teach them'. Maybe do a hybrid EdCamp
I agree Derek, but I have had some admins, say it is just free time. I disagree, I learn when I choose! https://t.co/rtQOaPfjqu
Isn't that why the model of PD is taking hold in so many different parts of the world?
R teachers required # badges or is just for their own satisfaction?
Adding so many knew like-minded people to my PLN tonight. Love it!
I like that idea of PD being a professional responsibility Rachel! https://t.co/2QezqrTXU6
A3: Everyone needs to trust that As and Ts understand PD is a professional responsibility.
So they are digital AND hardcopy?
T’s have amazing ideas. Give them an opportunity and it opens up doors. https://t.co/5r8XNbn1Sw
A2 Spotlight the great things other Ts are doing so they can see how amazing they actually are. Many don't think they have much.
I've wanted to leave many PD sessions over my last 20yrs in Edu!
Secretly keeping tabs of Ts during PD is awful. Although we used to get paid for attendance.
Yes, all kinds of folks are afraid. We have to let them be afraid while others go forward—inviting them in regularly.
The more admin gives up, the better the PD is.
Ts also see the badges on other Ts doors and ask about the badge.
Mixing up Ts away from their teams help encourage productive conversations for a common school goal
Couldn't agree more Karla!
I would love to see badges in some of my districts, some Ss and Ts are ready! Thanks! https://t.co/gU64ezIZlA
Ts love it! Some have started using badges in their classrooms.
Leaving should be allowed. I "Core Protocols" this is called a "checkout".
It's their own satisfaction. Our district is all about choices and not pushing stuff on Ts.
Sounds like a good way to get buy-in on w/ PD. I like this idea. https://t.co/Hd2YVIZsLM
Yes! We post the badges outside of their rooms. Ts are competitive no one wants to have a door w no badges
As an admin being visible and having constant discussions with staff is crucial. https://t.co/IpVpQEq3Cz
Ts are more apt to share when they see adm act upon comments/suggestions/requests. Frequent face-to-face check ins are essential
WHAT?? Admin saying that Edcamp is free time???
Amazing what happens when T's must rely on each other. "Everyone u meet knows something u don't"! https://t.co/c2eyGnJYIF
A3: trust that the Ts will use their time wisely and find information that will better their teaching as well as report back.
Agreed! If it's a required time thing w/ the school, then allow them time to be productive.
Yes, we mainly do a hardcopy to encourage other Ts that maybe aren't buying in. Let me find a picture.
If PD was intrinsically motivating, then we don’t need “accountability.”
This is what we do! Our PD day’s have more meaning because of it.
A3 Key= build capacity for Ts to reflect on practice, student need & ID steps; facilitate HQ learning so Ts Trust the process
A4 I appreciate the efforts of facilitating & end of yr tech camp. Choice, prof growth, support from school!
They say it's free-time b/c they don't actually know what an is & why it's useful! They need to attend one.
Just wondering, because I encourage a similar method with schools I work with.
That's similar to what we've been trying to do. https://t.co/7mGWG6W2qA
A4: When we ask Ts what they would like follow up on, we then created help sessions based on those needs.
A4: We have to learn to "Respect the 'No'". Treat people like individual professionals. Nothing required. Everything invited.
A2: Mixing up Ts away from their teams help encourage productive conversations for a common school goal
This happened in one district they could not understand the choice of Edcamp it was all about control https://t.co/bmZ4JDqXjT
WHAT?? Admin saying that Edcamp is free time???
NAILED IT! Trust Ts to have that Growth Mindset. They won't disappoint you & your school will flourish https://t.co/8pIYLYvEbY
A3: trust that the Ts will use their time wisely and find information that will better their teaching as well as report back.
A4: we just ran our first days. Many teachers found it useful and really enjoyed it.
Teacher Teams so imp! Trust within that grp is huge; helps to make PD great for all involved. https://t.co/IhWqvYYKGg
RETI is all about teacher teams! One of my teammates is in the house w/ us tonight!
A4 We occasionally meet w/ other schools based on grade levels to discuss actual needs & issues. Those were great PD times!
You're right. But we can agree never to have useless PD by doing PD through invitation.
Isn't it crazy how we preach Voice&Choice for S's but rarely are T's given this same consideration!
The only accountability should be on the creator of the PD to allow for personal growth
exactly. I had them bring topics they wanted to learn. Then we tackled them together.
NO! It is not free time. It gives T’s the opportunity to learn something they want to learn about.
And being able to walk out shows there may be an issue, esp if LOTS walk out.
Love the idea of having S's involved in PD for T's! https://t.co/HPA9nzn6l2
A4: Our Student Tech Team has pushed into classes as well as helping Ts troubleshoot.
Well said! https://t.co/VPAyj29Efn
The only accountability should be on the creator of the PD to allow for personal growth
And teacher teams are oh so much fun!! Love my team!
especially when they can pic something they are passionate about.
I Totally agree! Our T’s need custom PD! I’m developing online, on-demand, FREE, PD for teachers! https://t.co/w16W7T2HlD
Isn't it crazy how we preach Voice&Choice for S's but rarely are T's given this same consideration!
A3: Collaboratively creating annual goals at beginning of school year helps Ts feel valued as a building
Yes, this is what districts should be doing. If it is pushed, then there is no buy-in.
Exactly. So I think this calls for an agreement, right? Let's look at foundational agreements.
If we can collect that ahead of time, we can build small common groups that Ts weren't aware of.
Isn't it funny how you say it was great PD but only happens occasionally. How do we change that?
Love this model, it works! PD+T’s+S’s= fun and success! https://t.co/qd1q55kZwI
Love the idea of having S's involved in PD for T's! https://t.co/HPA9nzn6l2
A4: Our Student Tech Team has pushed into classes as well as helping Ts troubleshoot.
It takes a special grp of individs to make it work! https://t.co/jjWvlbrsYO
Hmmmm..... Good point Steve. I think in some environments it still feels too threatening to T's to be honest.
Exactly! Choice for PD is a great idea! We offer lots of classes during Summer & all are choice.
Absolutely crazy. No 1 wants to be forced then it allows for a more negative environment were Ts time is not valued.
Yes-impt to ask for feedback and then use that feedback to help improve
I have a few friends who know they can tell me when I'm off target It's a nice way to say PD wasn't good.
Q5:Reflect-Empower-Trust-Implement=RETI Which step is most impt as districts move toward T driven PD? https://t.co/02nvnWqduq
I totally agree! Teachers should have a voice in what they WANT to learn! https://t.co/o1WBeiMIBm
NO! It is not free time. It gives T’s the opportunity to learn something they want to learn about.
Smiling! Thank goodness you're not one of those close minded P's - I'd have to fire you! LOL!
Let's tie A1 into this. Adm could ask for feedback re areas of growth. Bld style PD
It is the only way for true PD to work!
Which is where a modified style can really be useful, esp the 1st or 2nd time.
And it’s growth-minded of you to accept the feedback willingly.
A4: When schools allow self-organizing teams to move forward independently of others.
Make the time for it monthly, at least.
Sorry if I multitasked the wrong message, I am the farthest from closed minded P, and PD! https://t.co/QxXyVPOkXb
Smiling! Thank goodness you're not one of those close minded P's - I'd have to fire you! LOL!
I often run into the idea of wanting more structured PD but many Ts in my district just want free time for class work.
That's amazing Meg!! We'd love you to share out!
How does the summer work? Much involvement?
It is a great idea! We are a small school district and have almost reached a 1000 badges applied for!
A5: It all has to start with trust.
That environment will tear a school apart. T’s need to be valued…always.
And that is SO valuable as a presenter. I love asking for honest feedback, esp from trusted friends.
Implement - too many PD’s don’t allow for or encourage Ts to TRY their new found knowledge. https://t.co/jghWCZlGTP
Q5:Reflect-Empower-Trust-Implement=RETI Which step is most impt as districts move toward T driven PD? https://t.co/02nvnWqduq
I'd be interested in hearing more on your thoughts about having a formal agreement...
We have that special group at GVEP!!! It includes the two of you!
I’m writing a module on now, we need to start with our teachers and admins https://t.co/ucf1yvjHV6
And it’s growth-minded of you to accept the feedback willingly.
I agree! Ts love choices!
I agree - Trust is instrumental! https://t.co/PMi4ruPHaa
A5: I think trust is the most important. Without it, the rest cannot be possible.
A5: Trust is built when individuals make and manage agreements with each other. Start with small agreements. Keep them. Move up!
By the RETI method and taking feedback constantly.
A5: it all starts with trust. Without trust, self-directed PD will never flourish.
A5 Implementation is the most important b/c it pushes to actually have the T driven PD in the first place.
A5 Great question . I will go with reflect. Effective PD cannot occur if individuals cannot think about what areas need focus.
A5 Reflect: on Ss needs/ work, the "what" (collaborate, create) not the "how" (wiki) of tech; time for Ts to risk & discuss
Do many T's come since it's summer? I'm 1 of crazy one's that does go to PD in summer but not all
True! Those are great PD times. I want to use that model as much as possible.
A5 Empower would be the toughest, b/c it takes Trust to another level. "I trust you to drive my Ferrari, but I'll hold the keys"
I don’t want to take over the chat, but I have created over 30 FREE modules for IEA members. all tech https://t.co/9gfc48FkJr
The district has Ts prepare & teach PD sessions on specific topics. I'm teaching 2.
A5: Trust leads to Empowerment which leads to Implementation which leads to Reflection=growth. One feeds the other.
I am sure that district is not a positive culture. Too bad.
Sorry Meg! I was directing that at Jon - my P. Just teasing him a little!!
Agreed! Couldn't have said it better!
Summers are 100% voluntary but we can get Univ credit for lane changes for cheaper $!
All agreements are "formal". It's just that most are "norm-al" and not explicit.
I opened 1st day of school this year with "I'm Sean, and I go to conferences" (Said in AA voice)
Haha…I’m glad too! I’m about my staff, positive culture and growth mindset! https://t.co/gbSOsgGagq
Smiling! Thank goodness you're not one of those close minded P's - I'd have to fire you! LOL!
We try to provide a balance because we know T's time is valuable. 1/2 day PD, 1/2 day curriculum/other work
Dang folks! I have to go back to playing Dad now. I've had a blast & learned a TON! Thanks!
The big question: Are they paid or reimbursed in some way?
Q6: How do leaders in your school encourage teacher participation in the development of PD? https://t.co/pGS1X9ZWiS
It was too bad, the right teachers were excited, the others wanted to make sure they didn’t look bad https://t.co/HEqHbbpI18
I am sure that district is not a positive culture. Too bad.
This is great. That is apart of our model. The T’s plan & present. Well, admin does too.
So the key is transparency. What can we agree to? Write them down. It's a start.
Thanks for joining us. We're here every Wed 8 CST
A4: Continuous feedback FROM T's TO T's that are leading PD. Creates a culture of we're all in this together!
We are paid for being the PD presenters so that's nice. Not a lot, but a little extra.
This is such a great point. Often there is no follow up provided so the implementing new learning never happens.
Q6 I always want teachers involved in PD, but many times we go back to the same T’s when do they get PD? How?
There are certain places we go to help, but culture is rough. Focus on making it better for Ss.
That frustrates me. As a T, that is why I am now an admin.
Thanks for sharing Steve!
Sorry to leave early. Thanks for the chat, and add me to your PLN to we can stay connected. https://t.co/M2OSFVbW5z
Sorry I missed ! Was looking forward to joining...It'll have to be next week! :(
That's good. Doesn't need to be a lot of $$ for Ts to know they're appreciated.
Few minutes left Mandy. Talking Teacher Driven PD
A6: The way to get someone to participate is to invite them. If "No" accept, re-invite later. Cultures of invitation are strong.
I can’t imagine how frustrating it is as an admin! Lucky I visit all types of systems, hope renewed! https://t.co/HXjAemRSqu
That frustrates me. As a T, that is why I am now an admin.
I know didn't say it, but if you're looking for a GREAT resource on changing PD - check out https://t.co/1tKUE4WnBr
I'm learning that. A personal invitation goes a long way...
Love this! The more choice and opportunity..the better for T’s.
Right. Does anyone go into teaching for the $$$?
Our admin builds on what T's suggest; listen & respond w/alt ideas, suggestions; Our admin rocks! https://t.co/2oyMk4yTdd
This is great. That is apart of our model. The T’s plan & present. Well, admin does too.
Culture is REALLY rough, and it stops learning with T’s https://t.co/w7PgPDU8Aw
There are certain places we go to help, but culture is rough. Focus on making it better for Ss.
That is awesome Sean!!!! https://t.co/FLppaJcTYl
I opened 1st day of school this year with "I'm Sean, and I go to conferences" (Said in AA voice)
Big lesson for me, too. But I realized that is what I do with kids. Why wasn't I treating adults the same way?
Thanks & . Continue to share your expertise by jumping over to the slowchat at . Qs by PSTs looking for ans.
Did you hear that Jon... They get $$$$ :-)
THAT is what drives it forward! That empowers! https://t.co/s2MwMyQCa2
And it’s growth-minded of you to accept the feedback willingly.
https://t.co/x1Ase2X2VX
A6: By valuing PD that is not traditional. Realizing that if Ts are seeking out learning, reward and encourage that.
A6: our admin seeks out T input on what should be covered on PD days. Admin meets with PD committee to discuss topics.
That is awesome! Luckily my colleagues like is working with me and our staff!
Food brings people together. I often take a few $$$ off my fee to give back for good food.
Food? Haha. I know…$$$ is what we all want.
That's a great plan. I probably spent $100+ on food last year for PLC's. Worth every cent
Yes, feel the tension I have.
Great teams on every front. https://t.co/fDqlZMZU5c
That is awesome! Luckily my colleagues like is working with me and our staff!
Last Word: What key take-a-way from tonight's chat will you share w/ your fellow T's & administrators? https://t.co/D4xYZ2ooHC
I try to do something often for my entire staff. It’s my thank you for all they do.
And just think you get to travel with me to next week. How much is that worth??
Last word PD in is a challenge. 1 size does not fit all, provide teacher voice and choice, provide online options for credit
https://t.co/1daHSV14Hx
