Q 2: You have heard a preview of the High Reliability Schools Model. What are your initial thoughts about GFPS embracing HRS? Please share 1st impressions: Pros, Cons, Hopes, Wonderments...#gfedchat
A2: I agree with Terry, I truly hope it's something that will benefit our schools and that we'll stick with for many years and not just a passing phase we'll drop in 2-3 years. #gfedchat
Q 2: You have heard a preview of the High Reliability Schools Model. What are your initial thoughts about GFPS embracing HRS? Please share 1st impressions: Pros, Cons, Hopes, Wonderments...#gfedchat
A2: It was a good way for us to reflect as a school on the things we are already doing well - and areas of improvement with a focus on becoming better with our students! #gfedchat
First impressions - At the building level we are seeing many of the things in place that make us a HRS. The district is moving in the right direction. I hope this isn't just a trend. #gfedchat
A2: I like the idea the fact that I've repeatedly heard that it isn't just a new initiative, but a way to bring together all the good things that we can, should, and hopefully already are doing in our schools... #gfedchat
A2: I definitely need to learn more about it. I think it's good to see the things we are doing well and what we can work on. Hoping all goals will be realistic and achievable! #gfedchat
A2- I believe above all, it will make us a better district. Focus on the students as learners rather than the content we teach. Change the focus. #gfedchat
A2: HRS is overwhelming at first! I feel we, as a district, is already doing some great things. Just needs consistency and also more awareness! More positive vibes that we are making a difference. #gfedchat
A2: As a parent, excited knowing my kids will get a guaranteed and viable curriculum no matter the teacher, excited as a T to see the direction we are headed #gfedchat
A2: Its a way to see what we are doing well and where we can grow in our practice of being highly effective. I like that it is a collaborative process. #gfedchat
A1: My initial thoughts were that it is something to engage and drive our district. It seemed to be practices which are already happening, but my hope is that it is a focus which continues....not something which will wilt away in a few years.
#gfedchat
#gfedchat A2: I'm interested to learn more about it. So far, it seems like everything has been an introduction about HRS. I'm interested to dig deeper.
A2: It looks like it can be a little overwhelming at first, but it seems like our schools are already heading in the right direction to be more successful #gfedchat
A2: I need to learn more about it, but I appreciate the accountability piece! We need to work as a team, at the school and district levels, in order to achieve common goals! #gfedchat
A2: I enjoy the fact that HRS incorporates all the best practices in one model. I wonder how noticeable those changes will be in the years to come. #gfedchat
Q 3: Level one of HRS involves creating a safe and collaborative culture. Describe what constitutes "safe and collaborative" for YOU collegially. #gfedchat
A3: Safe and collaborative to me means being able to share ideas in respectful ways where it's okay to disagree with others, but also to be openminded to new ideas. #gfedchat
A3: Safe and collaborative means being able to try new things and knowing that a lesson failing doesn't mean failing as a teacher - it's how we learn and grow! Also, Dr. Brenner's speech about being a team rather than a group really resonated with me. #gfedchat
A3: Safe and collaborative means that voices are heard and valued with empathy and open-mind. In the center of the discussion is our students and different opinions are valued even encouraged to engage a growth mindset. Together we are better. #gfedchat
Q 3: Level one of HRS involves creating a safe and collaborative culture. Describe what constitutes "safe and collaborative" for YOU collegially. #gfedchat
A3: I make my classroom a place where my students are welcomed, they can come talk to me at any time, and I hope they feel their voice is valued. #gfedchat
A3: Safe and collaborative implies a teamwork approach. We all need to do our part and take responsibility for our own piece of the puzzle - teachers, admin, parents, students. EVERYONE. #gfedchat
A3: Relationships, relationships, relationships. When you get to know your Ss and they know you care they feel safe. Collaborative should be Ts and Ss working together to create a safe learning environment #gfedchat
A3: Safe collaborative for me collegially means an environment that is free of judgment and where teamwork wins over competitiveness. All in it together for the kids!!!! #gfedchat
A3: a safe environment for me at school is one where i feel safe to teach my students but also safe for my own well being. When all of the teachers can work together for echother n students so they can learn n r safe as well #gfedchat
A3: "Safe and Collaborative" means non-negotiable time set aside for collaboration between ALL teams, Sp Ed included. All voices are heard and teams are working together. #gfedchat

A3: A meaningful structure to collaborate and with other team members for our students. Feeling safe to share ideas, try new things - for Ts and Ss. #gfedchat
A3: A safe and collaborative culture to me means that all voices are heard and listened to. I believe that this is SO important for our students, they want their voices heard. I also believe that it is very important for educators as well...we need to hear each other. #gfedchat
Eileen Zygarlicke, Community, late to the game. A3: Physically safe place and a place where I can safely take professional risks. Where I can work with Ss and they know it's a safe enivron. #gfedchat
A3: "safe and collaborative" = supportive, encouraging, avoiding being too critical and negative with each other (while still giving honest, realistic feedback) #gfedchat
Nathan Olson, Math Teacher @vmsroyals and @GFCGirlsGolf coach. So tired from our edc meet today that I am in bed. I will read your responses tomorrow! #gfedchat
A3: Making sure that staff and students feel safe no matter where they are at in the school, and have positive relationships with each other as much as possible. #gfedchat
For me "safe & collaborative" means establishing high trust with my colleagues and being able to take risks, openly discuss the + and - of what we are doing, and working our tails off together in the name of students. We each play a vital role and have much to offer ea. other.
A3: A safe and collaborative means that we are building relationships, making students feel safe. Modeling collaborative positive relationships among the students and staff #gfedchat
A3: Sharing ideas freely, thoughtful discussions on what to change and how to become better, working together towards a common goal for all students #gfedchat
A3: safe n collaborative environment is where all colleagues are included to express their opinions n ideas to work together for the best interest of our students #gfedchat
A3: A safe school is one full of communication and acceptance. Which in turn leads to a positive flow of collaboration between staff, students, and families. #gfedchat
A2 - I'm hoping I'm correct in understanding it is not something new to implement or a change in what good teachers and good schools are doing, but a more clear standard to measure what we are doing. #gfedchat
A3: That everyone's voice is respected. Where no one is worried about thinking out loud. We say we want that but there isn't always the follow through with self/peer accountability. Collaborating takes everyone on the team! #gfedchat
Q 4: What about safe and collaborative for our Ss? Share some strategies you employ in your classroom and/or school to ensure safety and collaboration is guaranteed for ALL students. #gfedchat
A3: Safe & collaborative = opinions are shared openly, voices are heard and respected, and you can 'fail up' with the support and encouragement of colleagues! #gfedchat
A3 - A safe and collaborative culture includes supportive teachers who work together to do what's best for students. Positive morale among teachers spreads to students. #gfedchat
A4: We talk about, we practice, all Ss have the opportunity to work with all Ss in the room. Ss work w/ others in one way or another every day. Then it becomes natural / habit #gfedchat
A4 students should be able to speak their mind without fear, teachers need to be good role models, everyone deserves respect, students should feel safe #gfedchat
A3: so many good answers shared! Positivity, working together, but also having stretch goals for yourself that make you somewhat uncomfortable and knowing your team, colleagues, and administration has your back #gfedchat
A4- Colab-By giving the students a voice and choice in their education. Safe- Forming relationships with students to let them know you are there for them and they can come to you with anything. #gfedchat
A4: As a single person of my content in my school, I look to the other middle school business teachers for collaboration. I wish we did more in school by team collaboration and mix contents together. #gfedchat
A4: One on one voice lessons ensure each student feels safe in my classroom. Because we get to know each other they feel safe sharing their voice and collaborating with the class of singers. #gfedchat
A4: Class meetings, student lead classrooms, recognizing student's unique needs as individuals and learners, engaging voice and choice, greeting students at the door, setting expectations for conduct and supporting them through practice. #gfedchat
Q 4: What about safe and collaborative for our Ss? Share some strategies you employ in your classroom and/or school to ensure safety and collaboration is guaranteed for ALL students. #gfedchat
Agreed -- there is a direct tie and that synergy is contagious. Easier said than done at times, yet if we keep a lens on what's best for kids our chances of success are high. #gfedchat
A4: talking with students and letting them know they matter and that their voice is heard. Also asking them if everything is okay and that they are feeling safe. #gfedchat
Q4: I have used morning meetings and class meetings to problem solve/make decisions about things together. We practice listening to one another, knowing what that means. #gfedchat
A4: Circle time and Olweus lessons during Advisory time and programs like SOS but i think there is a LOT more that we probably could be doing... #gfedchat
A4: For students --- Ex. peer edits of essays, I give an example of what consists of "mean, unhelpful feedback" (like, "I don't like your intro.") --Then discuss what they SHOULD give as feedback ... #BeSpecific#BeNice#gfedchat
A4: make sure students are heard, you know their backgrounds, you get to know their parents and you teach to their unique needs wants and desires so they feel comfortable to share n learn #gfedchat
A4: Treat others with respect and the way they want to be treated--I remind them of that often. We can disagree w/o being disagreeable. Safe to voice your opinion and Ss need to state it respectfully. #gfedchat
Q4: As keeper of the resource room, ALL students are welcome to use this space for safety, breaks, and learning. Every S needs a space that accommodates their needs. #gfedchat
A4: We build classroom/school community through our PBIS assemblies and school wide class meetings. Collaboration and partnership with buddy classrooms. We have student council and student leaders. #gfedchat
A4: Closing and morning meetings, lots of student voice in choices we make in our room. I always talk to them first before making a change. Lots of Plan Bs and problem solving individually and as a class, forming positive relationships with students comes first! #gfedchat
A4 - teaching students the art of conversation and collaboration and not just assuming that they know how. Also, encouraging wrong answers and celebrating my “favorite no”. #gfedchat
A4: Recognizing each of my students and their individual traits, working with other students and learning from each other, and supporting them through their failed attempts and acheivements #gfedchat
A4: I let my students watch me make mistakes, think out loud, and explore content on a deeper level. I try my best to create an atmosphere where we can learn together, struggle together, and succeed together. #gfedchat
A4: Modeling and encouraging kindness. Our theme for the year at Phoenix is "The Greatest Show" so we are promoting acceptance of everyone and encouraging students to not be afraid to express who they are #gfedchat
A4: relationships. Through honest discussions, morning and class meetings, getting down to their level. Implementing student choice and group work. Creating a family. #gfedchat
A4: Some strategies I use to ensure safety and collaboration are: encouraging mistakes, modeling how to treat others, share stories, classroom organization provides consistency...being consistently constant is KEY.#gfedchat
A4: Creating an environment for my students to feel safe. We have weekly class meetings. Ss work collaboratively together throughout the day which builds positive relationships #gfedchat
A4: Some strategies I use to ensure safety and collaboration are: encouraging mistakes, modeling how to treat others, share stories, classroom organization provides consistency...being consistently constant is KEY.
#gfedchat
A4: Ss feel safe to share ideas, feel valued and respected, are okay with making mistakes knowing they are supported by peers and teacher, team building activities, morning mtgs, time to share #gfedchat
A4: creating a trusting and safe environment that provides students the ability to contribute/share/collaborate in various ways. Modeling how to do this through interactions with Ss and Ts. They are always watching! #gfedchat
A4: getting to know my students and they abilities and traits in the PE Gym, learning that each student learns differently and supporting them as they develop the skill that is being practiced. #gfedchat
A4: From day one, learning about Ss as people! Discussing their interests, what connects them with other Ss and Ts, and creating a comfortable environment where mistakes are expected! We're all learning together! #gfedchat
A4: Our 3rd grade rooms we are using flipgrid to answer Would You Rather ?s. Ss practice respectful answers & responses. Agree/Disagree w/reasons. #gfedchat
A4 - Building relationships with students and between students helps students feel accepted and safe in the classroom. Our team does a good job of keeping track of and supporting individual students. Students know we are on their side. #gfedchat
Q 5: HRS element 1.3 is around shared decision making. Do you feel like you have a voice in your school, and if so, how? What about at the district level? Describe what is currently working & what could help increase teacher, student, or parental input. #gfedchat
A5: I feel like we as teachers are finally being heard about a lot of different things. Because so much goes into decisions that are made, we aren't always aware of how our input impacts those decisions. I think it would be powerful and help morale if we did know! #gfedchat
A5: Part of Voice comes from relationships. Once you feel like you are valued part of the team, you share your voice. This takes building trusting relationships where each person is valued, these take time and investment of energy. Well worth the effort. #gfedchat
Q 5: HRS element 1.3 is around shared decision making. Do you feel like you have a voice in your school, and if so, how? What about at the district level? Describe what is currently working & what could help increase teacher, student, or parental input. #gfedchat
A5 we have great collaboration at our school and are asked for input. I think that the district is taking strides to listen more to all stakeholders but it will take time #gfedchat
A5 Yes, I feel I have a voice in my school. We have great leadership that supports that. There is a famiy feeling. So you feel respected. I like our new sup weekly youtube messages. That helps create a feeling of being respected. #gfedchat
A5: I share my voice through being involved on committees like Every1Matters, Teaching & Learning Committee and being a Team Leader. District-wide department meetings help us feel heard as music teachers. #gfedchat
A5. I feel like my opinions are valued in the schools that I work at. I see a positive change happening at a district level and I am excited to see what the future holds. #gfedchat
A5: At Century we have a voice. @dsaxberg is willing to hear what we have to say and discuss it as a group if needed. I think on the district side staff is finally getting a voice. Finally feel respected and valued by the top. #gfedchat
Q5: Being a 2nd year teacher, I feel that I have a large voice and my decisions are supported and encouraged. Being such a small school its much easier to support and be supported from others in the school. #gfedchat
A5: I do feel like I have a voice at VMS, especially given the committees of which I am a part. It's harder to have a voice on the district level... there are SO MANY voices out there! But I do feel like I have a better chance of being heard this year than ever before! #gfedchat
A5: I think every year gets better when it comes to teachers being heard. It does not always facilitate change. Have not felt heard on a district level but that seems to be potentially changing. #gfedchat
A5: I feel like I have a voice at my school and am happy that our new supt is so clear on wanting decision making to reflect the voices of Ts. #gfedchat
A5: I have tried to make an impact at my school which in turn people ask for my advice and assistance. At the district level, I'm trying to get more involved. For only being in the district for 7 years, I'm trying really hard to be heard. #gfedchat
A5: I feel like I have voice and my opinions are valued in the schools that I work at, and have seen some feedback from them! I am glad at a district level we are finally being heard and supported! #gfedchat
A5: I feel our staff @ Discovery often is asked of our opinions/problem solving strategies. There is a respect for for working together, not being bossed around. Our ideas seemed valued and listened to. #gfedchat
A5: T's have a voice in our school. Our P, @MrsBjelde seeks input from all teams. The feel from the DO is encouraging! Effective leadership is vital to the success of any program. Relationship building is important. #gfedchat
A5: yes through team meetings, colleagues are always sharing what committee they are a part of and email with questions that they will bring to the next level. #gfedchat
A5: In the school, I feel its a safe environment to share. Staff meetings offer opportunity to be heard. District level- need to work on a process. Input from Ts for some decisions could be helpful, but there is not definite process. Advisory committees a good start.#gfedchat
A5:At the school level, I feel my voice is heard. We collaborate often. District level, I'm not I'm there yet, though it's improved I'm grateful for the people who work on committees, but,I don't always feel we are able to provide feedback before the decision is made. #gfedchat
A5: I feel as a whole--we are finally being heard and I like the direction that we are going. It's nice to have the support at our building level too. The focus groups that are being developed are a great addition. #gfedchat
A5: In the school, I feel its a safe environment to share. Staff meetings offer opportunity to be heard. District level- need to work on a process. Input from Ts for some decisions could be helpful, but there is not definite process. Advisory committees a good start. #gfedchat
A5: Sometimes my voice is heard at school, looking forward to Dr. Brenner’s leadership, I have a voice through district surveys and different committees I’m on #gfedchat
A5: I feel like my opinions are valued. I also think our district is heading in the right direction & have already seen so many positives at the district level in the first weeks of school. #gfedchat
A5: We all need to remember to take time to listen to our colleagues, Tt, parents, Ss equally across the district. Everyone in every school will have different needs, concerns and ideas that would help support comprehensive district goals as a whole :) #gfedchat
A5 Our administrators listen well and act on our input, and I too, think the superintendent is trying to improve communication between teachers and the district. I could contribute more by attending school board meetings and the parent teacher meetings at our school. #gfedchat
A5: I feel comfortable going to administration and many colleagues with concerns, questions, and dilemmas. I feel that we have open door policies for teachers just like we want for students so that our voices are heard. #gfedchat
A5: I feel like my voice is valued at my school. There's an open door. There are also many committees to be apart of in the dist to share input. #gfedchat
Q5: I feel like I do have a voice, but there are times I don't feel heard. I internalize it as because I was newer to the district an "outsider". I believe that with some of my staff I have proven myself through my actions, therefore I built respect with some staff.
#gfedchat
A5: I feel like at the school level my voice is heard because we collaborate often. At the district level I feel like it is a little more difficult. #gfedchat
At VMS, I feel that I do have a voice and I am heard when I have something to share. At the district level, I feel like I could find the right person to share to if needed. #gfedchat
#gfedchat A5: I think this is difficult to answer because it varies based on the topic or situation. However, generally I would say, "yes, I do feel heard and valued."
Q 6: HRS element 1.7 is about celebrating success. How do you celebrate student success in your classroom? Your school? How do you celebrate the success of your colleagues? What ideas do you have to improve celebratory moments in a meaningful way? #gfedchat
At VMS, I work with a great team of teachers, and while it might not be my voice directly, we work together to share ideas, comments and questions with those who should hear them! It seems as though the district is open to hearing from teachers! #gfedchat
A6: I celebrate Ss successes through verbal congratulations, sometimes with a starburst or other sweet treat. Ts I usually celebrate with coffee - lol. I think the most appreciated form of celebrating success is a compliment - telling someone you notice the great! #gfedchat
Q6: I have a champions board for team sports, students and their teams get their photos taken and placed on the board for the weeks until the next unit. Split students into different skill levels so everyone hopefully gets a chance every unit. #gfedchat
A6: Every early out our principal wants us to share any celebrations before we start PLC time. LOVE that she does this. Connects us and brings us together in personal ways #gfedchat
A6: I celebrate success by calling parents and telling them good news Also I tell Ss how proud I am of what they've done and then ask if I can post it on my website as an example for others. #gfedchat
A5 I feel we have great collaboration at our school as well. Building relationships and trust between team members has been a huge factor. Amazing things can happen when everyone comes together. #gfedchat
A5: As Ts we want our Ss to have voice and choice in the classroom and in their learning but in the past we haven’t felt like we have been heard....I feel this is changing with @BrennerTerry also @ Discovery I feel valued and feel like my thoughts/opinion matters. #gfedchat
A6: With student successes I am very vocal with those specific students. Our kids try hard and they should be acknowledged for their efforts whether they are creative, athletic, or academic. I have a wall dedicated in my room to student successes. I call it "The Fridge"#gfedchat
A6: celebrations in my classroom with a reward, verbal enthusiasm, importance of their success. celebrations at IEP meetings with parent. celebrations at assemblies for our school. #gfedchat
A6: We have a bulletin board in our lounge to celebrate successes. We have "I noticed, you matter" cards that we will out for colleagues. We Tweet shoutouts #gfedchat
A6: Our school has rallies each month and we have school wide celebrations when we hit milestones for doing the right thing. In class, I celebrate both individual and class achievements. #gfedchat
A6: In art we celebrate student success through displaying student art in our gallery and throughout the school. I also celebrate success of students, colleagues, and school just by praising all of the good and accomplishments that we have-verbally. #gfedchat
A6: i celebrate any success in my room with my littles with simple things as praise, rewards, textn their parents, pictures. I celebrate in my room not really school wide #gfedchat
A6- I think we need to acknowledge teacher success much more. We have a lot of great teachers doing innovative things and I want to know about it more. When admin witnesses innovation in the classroom or school, it should be shared. #gfedchat
A6: In my classroom we have celebration days where Ss get to choose from my celebration menu where they can eat lunch with me, play a board game, etc. activities to help with building relationships. I think that celebrating colleagues is something we could work more on #gfedchat
A6: Classroom: verbal praise, high 5s
School: We have a growing leaders tree that Ss get to add their names to
Colleagues: At the beginnings of meetings or in staff notes there are shout outs
#gfedchat
A6:Staff Shout Out board!!! In Sped, we celebrate every little or big step taken in S growth!! At the building level we have our PBIS program. I feel we are encouraging and celebrating successes!! #gfedchat
A5: I think I have felt most heard when involved with small group committees. It can be so challenging to get everyone's voice heard in a large group discussion. (unless it's in a format like this) #gfedchat
A6: When I collaborate with a teacher to provide a meaningful immersive tech experience that engages and enhances learning - we celebrate success. I love supporting teachers and student in learning! I also love when Ts or Ss are recognized for investing in learning. #gfedchat
Early in my career I asked a S focus group what kind of party or recognition event we should have to celebrate kids doing the right thing. Answer: "Ms. Gillach, you don't have to always throw a big party. We like just getting our name on the announcements." :o) Simple! #gfedchat
A6: Working with young Ss, we celebrate often and over little successes. School -proud moments, hot topics, school wide assemblies. Recognize staff at meetings. Meaningful celebration is key. Overuse of anything can decrease effectiveness. #gfedchat
A6: Celebrating growth by keeping track of progress, high fives, smiles, Good News notes home for the kiddos and hopefully some of these for each other too! #gfedchat
Positive praise and having students take pride In their work is a must. I’m excited to try seesaw as a specialist to share successes with families as well #gfedchat
A6, I struggle a little with this as I feel sometimes we "celebrate" or "reward" students for doing what they should be doing. Is that right? Should it be for doing above and beyond instead? #gfedchat
A6: I've also started using seesaw to send parents pictures when I catch their child doing something awesome. This has gone over well with parents. #gfedchat
A6: I need help with this for student success. I've been playing the idea in my head of writing/creating a classroom website and email parents of updates. I just don't know how it will work yet. #gfedchat
A6: We do a lot of "5 second celebrations" during lessons and work, but we also have right on targets. I do a class bingo board and WBT class tallies. I think we could work more on recognizing teachers and the great work they do every day. #gfedchat
A6: In my new role, I'm still trying to figure out how to celebrate success. So far I've done a lot of assessments with hesitant readers and I can't say enough how many have impressed me, despite every reason they SHOULD struggle. I'm trying to really emphasize my awe. #gfedchat
A6: I recently received a note from a colleague who noticed some great things happening in my classroom. I want to include more of this with my Ss, - either through more notes home, in class, or even just a high five and a conversation about how proud they should be! #gfedchat
Q5: I definitely feel heard at my school and that is a huge part of why I love my job. Happy that the Supt. and Assist. are interested in visiting our schools. 😀 #gfedchat
Q6: I celebrate student success by posting student work in the classroom. I like to send positive emails/phone calls to parents about their students. We resurrected the "Sunshine Committee" at ESMS to boost morale, celebrate, and support each other.
#gfedchat
A6: We celebrate:
Class = Every1Matter cards, high fives, positive emails/phonecalls home, Twitter; School = student of the month, ACE awards, assembly; Staff = Bazey Builder Award, staff meetings, Staff Shoutouts, thank you notes #gfedchat
A6: My 5yo son gave me a great idea w a #brilliant block I have: put it on a Ss desk when they do something great. Now it's not just decoration. He's so smart! #brilliant#gfedchat
Love post cards that go home! Carried a stack with me all the time to fill out at a moments notice. Engrained in me at Century and brought to Kelly! LOVE these!! #gfedchat
A6: At Community we have S of the Block in which Ts nominate Ss. Lots of positive reinforcement there. Telling Ss they've done a terrific job on something takes little time or effort but can payoff in big dividends as to how Ss will work for you in future. #gfedchat
A6: celebrating moments with colleagues- I like that we are asked to share some of our moments with the staff at the start of staff meetings. Great way to always start on some positive notes #gfedchat
A6: Getting to know your Ss in order to establishing "personal" goals for Ss, beyond grades, celebrating goals reached as the Ss grows and matures as a young adult and the rest will hopefully fall into place #gfedchat
Q 7: Thank you for joining us and for being an amazing human! Please share something you might try, change, or reinforce as a result of tonight's chat. We appreciate your supporting a safe & collaborative Twitter Chat! :-) #gfedchat
A6: I love to send a positive note, call, or email home to parents. They always respond so positively. Plus, it’s a great way to build relationships with them. #gfedchat
A6: I love when the class instinctively cheers on a classmate. I also use a former gift from a student to celebrate whole class/ group/ independent awesomeness! It’s the Wave of Awesomeness. #gfedchat
Q 7: Thank you for joining us and for being an amazing human! Please share something you might try, change, or reinforce as a result of tonight's chat. We appreciate your supporting a safe & collaborative Twitter Chat! :-) #gfedchat
A7: im going to continue praising n celebrating my ss learning n expand on ways to do so ive learned more here. I want to b included more in school activities to feel we belong n i will do more w my colleagues #gfedchat
Q7: I want to recognize fellow teachers at my school for positive things I notice. A great way to build a positive atmosphere and make others feel good! #gfedchat
A7. I would like to make more of an effort to recognize all of the awesome teachers I get to work with every day! Hand-written notes can make someone's day! #gfedchat
A7: One of my main goals for this school year is to conference more one-on-one with students to hear their voices and give praise. This is something I will continue to work on and reinforce! #celebrateitall#gfedchat
A7: Want to create a shoutout board in classroom where Ss add post it notes or write on papers designated for each child to acknowledge awesome things or improvements #gfedchat
A7: Be mindful of the power of praise and celebrate growth in Ss..even small growth is growth and something to acknowledge. I tell Ss when I see improvement & tell them what to work on next. #gfedchat
A7: I love @JenNeil12 's idea about the brilliant block! That's AWESOME!!!! Will you ask your 5yo if I can steal this idea? Also @kcebula, I love your dance party idea! #gfedchat
A7: I like the idea of starting staff meetings with verbal shout outs to other T's! ALL S's need to be met where they are at in that moment, not where we want them to be. #gfedchat
A7: recognizing my fellow teacher's hard work and successes & letting them know we notice and are genuinely proud of them. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork#gfedchat
A7: celebrating both student and teacher success. getting to know my colleagues better in order to have a safer and more collaborative culture! #gfedchat
A7: Continue to pay attention to Ss needs and changes and celebrate for their personal accomplishments. Encourage fellow teachers/team members when they are doing a great job with students. #gfedchat
A7: Allowing the students to celebrate and enjoy the sweet smell of success with their classmates all while showing sportsmanship to the opposing teams. #gfedchat
A7: I feel like I give a lot of verbal praise to students and colleagues alike, but a big goal of mine this year in general is to write more notes - thank yous, Royal Pride Cards, birthday cards. All of those.. I want to show ppl that I care and appreciate them! #gfedchat
A6: I think my favorite way to celebrate is a quick "guess what just happened" moment with a neighboring teacher. Someone you bounce ideas off of and can have a quick Grey's Anatomy dancing moment with or a piece of chocolate @oconnorsroom#gfedchat
A7: Someone mentioned using Seesaw to send home when a child is caught doing something good. I have used Seesaw to share student work but I like the idea of sending posts about when Ss are caught doing something nice for someone else. #gfedchat
A7: Brilliant Block!! I love that!! Such an easy, yet meaningful celebration! I also want to pay it forward by celebrating all of the awesome people I work with! Knowing you are appreciated is huge! #gfedchat
