The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.

R1: Digital connection to me is engaging students in learning that allows technology to seamlessly be integrated in the curriculum. Ss are developing skills that will allow them to be prepared for the next wave of integration and job creation. #INeLearn
#INeLearn A1 My personal view is to continue to build our connections with speakers and collaboration with classrooms throughout the US and World. Also continuing to build our Google Apps skills with our staff to benefit our Ss using Chromebooks.
R1: For every student to excitedly engage with and grow from digital content; Skills learned from digital engagement now will prep students for the future. #INeLearn#LeadUpChat
R1: I’m thinking a lot about how we engage Ss in learning and create real world solutions to problems within our community that blend the curriculum and problem together. #INeLearn
A1: getting to a place where teaching is completely re-imagined because of tech. I want to make sure we’re not just substituting. Devices are expensive replacements for paper.#INeLearn

R1. Digital connections to me means making learning relevant for Ss. Connecting them with experts and/or people experiencing what Ss are studying brings their learning to life. #INeLearn
R1: Our students are already making digital connections; they share and post online all the time. As educators, we need to help them harness the power of these connections, model good digital citizenship and the opportunity to expand knowledge and opportunity. #INeLearn
R1: Technology is every part of my job. We need to model it in a positive way for our students b/c it will be even more a part of their future! #INeLearn
R2: The story of what is going on in schools should be told by those people with first hand allcont of what’s going on in the school. If we don’t tell the story, someone else will and it might not be accurate. #INeLearn
R1: My vision for the digital future is for Ss to still be engaged with humans as much as possible, using tech to connect, access information and create. #INeLearn (this time my tardy is due to HQ & the draft)

A2: Connecting our stakeholders helps us tell OUR story of what’s happening in our schools. Using social media helps us share the great things that are happening. Parents also get to see what their kids are doing in school. #INeLearn
R2 Stakeholders are already in these digital spaces. It shows the school is real, relevant, engaged. It's a window into the learning environment. #INeLearn
#INeLearn A2. Love using Twitter and Facebook to show the community what is happening at North White. Update with photos and videos as quick as possible. Important to show what is happening in our schools. Parents love seeing pictures of their Ss engaged in lessons.

R2: Our world is so big and social media allows us to connect and make it small. It also allows us to see and connect with the entire world widening our understanding of it. #INeLearn
A2: connecting enables a "real" view or application of learning materials. Plus it builds relationships with the community, maybe even leads to mentors.
#inelearn
A2 Schools need to connect with stakeholders so we can collaborate with the 'real world' Ss are amazing, have fresh ideas, and need to be inspired by making connections outside the classroom #inelearn
R2: Social media allows for endless PD for schools and educators in our increasingly busy lives; Stakeholders have so much to offer by way of social media and schools can leverage that info for continued growth and success #INeLearn#LeadUpChat
R1: Technology is every part of my job. We need to model it in a positive way for our students b/c it will be even more a part of their future! #INeLearn
R2: That's the best way to reach many of the stakeholders. Today it's possible to know far more what's going on in schools. Just think of the days when you could only rely on what your kids told you, or that you specifically asked about, or learned from friends. #INeLearn

R2. If positive community partnerships are created and we share how we are partnering, it could lead to even more partnerships. I hear over and over from our community that they never realized they could work with us. #INeLearn
Or if it is like my kids, I get “Nothing”. So, our connections to our parents are KEY to bridging home & school connections of what goes on each day! #INeLearn

R3: are we creating the RIGHT message and is it authentic. Creating a true #PLC with members who are valued and in it “for the right reason” is important. #INeLearn

I used to do this when I was in the classroom! With guidance, and me giving the approval, my SS used to tweet about our day, our week, our projects. Great discussions about quality posts, word choice, etc #INeLearn

R3: Privacy, or lack there of; you are always “on,” ensuring that you always put your best foot forward; context and body lang are missing, which can lead to misconceptions #INeLearn#LeadUpChat
A3: it can be real easy to stay behind the keyboard and not materialize the connections. IRL connections can be powerful and authentic. That can be harder to achieve on digital.
#INeLearn
A3: Sometimes things get lost in translation digitally: you don't hear intonation, see expressions or body language. As other's have said, you may need to wait for a response. #INeLearn

A4: Always help our kids remember that people and connections are at the core of our tech tools. Whatever we do should be aimed at helping kids understand and interact with their world more #INeLearn
Admittedly, when I was in Costa Rica, I had a terrible time putting my phone down, not answering emails from summer school, and wanting to connect to my #PLC. #INeLearn

Definitely tough and years into connecting, I still struggle. I have not participated in as many chats because of this. I don’t think there is a balance, just intentionality in our connections. #INeLearn
R4: let’s admit that being online is addicting. Probably is important to have time away. My time away is helping coach my daughters softball team. Let’s go 8U. #INeLearn
R5: we must teach our Ss to be responsible digital citizens. Teaching these skills while engaging Ss in content and building online relationships is important. #INeLearn
R5: To grow academically, socially, and personally through active engagement with content that meets and adjusts to their needs; To empower sts to take ownership of their learning #INeLearn#LeadUpChat
A5: Having students connect, collaborate, create, and think critically in ways that tech makes possible. Always looking to make tech relevant for kids by doing what’s not possible without it. #INeLearn
A5 I hope my Ss make connections that will help them learn something new - connect with people that can mentor them - secure internships - learn about their passions - grow beyond the classroom #inelearn
R5: I was thinking...I think there will be a time very soon where we will have Ss from all over the world in our classes. Building relationships with different cultures through social media and classroom connections is something of the NOW. #INeLearn

R5 My vision for Ss' digital connections (starting with my own child's) is that they are not afraid to reach out to/follow experts in areas of interest #INeLearn

R6: MODEL THEM. Show Ss how to find those connections, develop means for presenting their knowledge via blogs, videos, podcasts. How to use the 4Cs. This is going to be my first month of instruction in my room this year. #INeLearn
R6: Allow students to take risks and aim high! If they ask or try for connections, the worse they can hear is “no.” They can learn from that too. #INeLearn

R7: We need to put it into language, situations and future skills that Ps and Ss understand, not just the edu-ese that we will see in our classrooms #inelearn
R7: are we going to play it safe and keep doing things the same ole way or are we going to take risks? Risk takers will fail sometimes. THATS OK!!! That’s how we learn. #INeLearn
R7. Share your journey with them. There is so much evidence that this works. This should also be considered when developing mission/vision/belief statements. #INeLearn
A7: It never hurts to share good examples with those who are unsure. Sometimes it's hard for others to envision our vision. That's one reason we all connect here: to get those great examples to share. #INeLearn
R7: We need to put it into language, situations and future skills that Ps and Ss understand, not just the edu-ese that we will see in our classrooms #inelearn
A7: Engagement! Classrooms where digital learning is happening are full of exciting, student-driven learning. Kids, teachers, etc. all want learning to capture students. Show your students’ engagement and you’ll have followers #INeLearn

Great way to end: I'll be seeing many of those important digital friends at ISTE (meeting many of them for the 1st time F2F) Too many to list! Plus we're done just in time for the Pacers' first draft pick. #INeLearn
So important! We must make sure that hesitant tech users know tech can be messy and when we are transparent about this it gives courage! Also, students can teach us SO much about tech!#INeLearn
