A1 it took a long time, but I have finally reached nirvana - able to balance fun and engaging with high expectations and love. Finally confident to share what I do and teach teachers and learn from teachers. Ok to admit failure and to not know everything. #Satchat

Passionate teachers having professional discussions about what is best for kids is what leads to a better education system. This quote comes from the introduction of https://t.co/C3hefWGqR9
This is why we love #satchat!

Thanks. There is something special about the MLB hats & uniforms from the 70's. And of course as a history teacher, this hat can be a lesson in itself. RIP Expos. #satchat#sschat
A!: A happy one, an old one, a blessed one, and (for better or worse) a pale male one.
But this is assuming I can figure out how to do a selfie on a cell phone....
#satchat

A1: An educator who consistently pursues improvement, harbors a growth mindset and one who tries to make every decision with an eye for what’s best for students & the school even when those decisions are difficult. #Satchat

A1: I see a learner first and always and an educator who wants to make tech integration meaningful. Never willing to accept that change isn’t possible, if it is best for kids #satchat
A1: What type of educator am I? Well, I am a great supporter of my team first and formost. If we can't support our teachers, we are never going to get ahead. I foster a cummunity where kids cone 1st! Tech is a tool, but only if it has a positive impact. #satchat
#satchat A1, one that is trying to get away from spoon feeding his students and trying to give them the responsibility to learn for themselves. This is very difficult.
A1- someone who is excited and loves what he does. A servant. Tries to be positive with everyone and every situation. Loves continuously learning about the craft of teaching and leadership. #satchat
A1: I see a #4OCF Rouge teacher who is passionate about learning and showing S's how to do the same. Always curious, all about relationships and mindset. #satchat Google geek too... #gttribe

A1 A growing educator that works tirelessly to create engaging activities for his students, while allowing them to master the skills necessary for their lives. I'm grateful for learning new things daily from my Twitter PLN, which allows me to get better. #satchat
A1: After an admittedly rough week, this is a welcomed topic. I see an educator who’s in education for the right reason...Kids. To help guide them where they want to go and provide support in so many areas of their life. #satchat
A1 Probably the most laid back , empowering, supportive , “think outside the box “ student focused admin you’ll ever meet ( references available upon request 😂😂😂) #satchat@DynamicDuda338#WonderTwins
A1. I see a Passionate educator..putting Ss and their learning first at all times..I truly value Reflecting..How can I become a better educator each day. #satchat
I see myself as a teacher who tries to understand and know my students. I like to think I put everything I have into every lesson. Differentiation and innovation are always at the top of my mind #satchat
A1: My first reaction to the question is to reflect on those who see something different in me than what I see, and then help me raise expectations for myself. I need mentors who push me beyond what I can see. #satchat
1A: I see an educator who enjoys learning and seeking new initiatives when something doesn't work. Seeks connecting staff to resources for increased student growth. #satchat
A1: I see an educator who is passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of educators, and someone who wants to foster real change in today’s schools through innovative research. #satchat
A2 - Critical of methods/strategies in the classroom...just because something feels fun or popular...that doesn't mean it's effective for learning. #satchat
A1b I saw a quote earlier this week asking if I was embarrassed how I used to teach? The answer is yes! I hope the answer is yes when I reflect on every year, as it will only allow for future growth. #satchat
A2: I think my strengths are that I consistently try to keep learning and try to make innovative activities for my students. I want them to be interested in what they are learning, and I find that becomes more difficult every year. #satchat
A2: Strengths as an educator - student centered, creative, life-long learner, communicator, collaborator, and one that seeks to teach the whole child. #satchat
A2: One of my strengths is self-reflection and being able to admit that I made a mistake. This allows me to change. I'm not afraid to take risks and to do things differently. I love my students and I want what's best for them as individuals as well as learners. #satchat
A2- I’m a good talent evaluator (get right people on the bus) I can calm mad people down(a real skill) I am always positive, driven, and motivated #satchat
@TheBradCurrie has been very supportive of what I do in my classroom for the sake of students, so much so that I can almost overlook that he is an Eagles fan #satchat
Q2 going down the rabbit hole is both my strength and weakness. Able to scrap lesson plan when something is needed, able to make so many connections, and tie history into current events. #satchat
A2-Empathy. Listening and trying to always be solutions oriented. Understanding that as adults, we face some of the same issues as students, so what would I want done for me. Some students face more than I will ever see, so asking them what do they need. #satchat
A2 I'm always willing to try something new even if it's challenging, I'm comfortable asking for help when I need it, and I'm willing to share when I have something that can help other Ts and Ss. #satchat
A2: Creative, hard working, relate well w/Ss, able to see how to apply things to what I do, able to work "within the box," and constantly spread positivity with Ss and staff. #satchat
Enthusiasm is infectious. Tapping into crazy levels of energy and 21st century content relevance to drive student engagement through the roof. #satchat
A2 I am willing to admit that the way it has always been may not be the best at the moment. Responding to Ss needs and exploring innovation if it helps Ss succeed. Systems thinker and reflective (at times, too hard on myself). #satchat
A1 I’d say I’m not afraid to try something new, I listen to my staff, I’m always on the lookout for new ways to do things that bring fun and excitement in the classroom and if it doesn’t work ... no big deal - you just try another way #Satchat
A1: Someone who believes educators spark the minds that change the world and who wants to remain strong enough to speak up every time it's necessary. #satchat
Arriving late... A2 My strengths as an educator is my knowledge base. Understanding what I can share is not necessarily what everyone else knows. Just because I know and understand something does not mean that everyone else does too #satchat
A2: Strength as an educator:
1. focused on our students, their learning, needs, and improving their learning experience
2. focused on our teachers, their teaching, learning, needs and improving their practice
It's always about teaching and learning!!
#satchat
A2 Being open to learning new things from anyone who has something to teach me. Being positive and supportive. Keeping kids at the center of all my decisions. Remembering what it's like to be in that classroom even though I am no longer in that role. #satchat
A1: I see an educator who is usually cheerful, just wants to make learning experiences better for students, and relentlessly drives to #becomebetter. #satchat
A2: Strengths - ability to build strong relationships with students, to plan engaging lessons, to help other teachers without hesitation and to understand that I can ALWAYS learn something from anyone!! #satchat
A2) Content knowledge. Reliability. Honesty. Ability to put kids first. Still working on taking care of me, my family, and then my classroom (in that order!) #satchat
A2: I feel I connect with people (adults and students), I am relentless about what is right for kids, I love both teaching and learning. Those are my strengths as an educator #satchat
A2) my superpower is resilience-it can be difficult at times but leaders have to be prepared for a tidal wave of pushback and stand strong. Find your tribe. #satchat
#satchat I see someone who wants to keep it real in the classroom, wants the students to know the why as well as the how, and wants to learn as much as teach. She is also smiling. A lot.
A2. I think one of my biggest strengths is my ability to built positive, trusting relationships with all stakeholders. We can’t do this work alone. #satchat
My assumption is that all educators should be lifelong learners. The need to stay on top our craft is critical for the sake of the next generation. #satchat
Problem with education system is unequal funding of public schools based off property tax zip codes, promoting inequality. Republican philosophy punishing poor performing schools funding rather than reorganizing and investing in technology & teachers dooms our system #satchat
A2 Always looking to improve and do something new. My personal philosophy is try at least one new thing each year! We must work hard each year to stay relevant! #satchat
A2: I think one of my greatest strengths is being able to establish a clear vision and then to articulate the work necessary to bring that vision to life. #Satchat
A1: My strength as an educator is my flexibility. I have taught a variety of grade levels, teach college level, been an administrator, and now a coach. What a view! #satchat
A2: My greatest strength.... INJECT HUMOR! Find a way to make it fun or at least take some of the bite out of the challenges and/or obstacles. Be the person you want to work for. Have their backs and rally on TOGETHER!! #satchat
#satchat A2 That I love my position and I want my students to succeed even when they don’t see the big picture yet. Not afraid to try new things in the classroom.
A2b: Forgot to add risk taker. I see something new that I think will benefit my Ss, I jump in and do it. Sometimes on the same day or next day that I discover or learn about it. #satchat
A2: A strength is building relationships with students and families. I keep those relationships going beyond first grade by talking with former students & parents & encouraging them as they progress #SatChat
A2 I like to experiment, try new things in my classroom, model learning and how to react to events when they do not go as planned. empower students to have a stake in their learning and get them to think outside the box or worksheet. #satchat
A2: Strength as an educator:
1. focused on our students, their learning, needs, and improving their learning experience
2. focused on our teachers, their teaching, learning, needs and improving their practice
It's always about teaching and learning!!
#satchat
I was at that point two years ago - almost quit teaching. I found a way out through my Tweeps, brought my passion into the classroom, and never looked back. I hope it gets better for you! https://t.co/yCbrZO76fH#Satchat
A2: my superpower is my background as a special educator. As a person who does a lot of training and working with teachers, my special ed instincts often help me better serve the people I’m working with #satchat
A1 cont. I want others to be in my classroom to observe, to give critical feedback in order to help me grow. I admit that I am a work in progress, even to my Ss. #satchat
A2: ability to stay calm (or at least fake it enough to calm others!), finding the best in challenging students, and being willing try new things #satchat
A2 My strength is always reflecting: does it work, does it match my philosophy, is it helping students grow intellectually & socially & being willing to toss something when it doesn't & seeing each student as unique individuals #satchat
A1: One who's supercharged by the "real world," is done w bureaucracy (even if it means having to leave), has discovered real endless learning & is passionate about giving kids the same "You really can!" epiphany I've had. #satchat
I see an educator who still loves what she does after 25 years. I am as passionate about learning new things and new ways as ever. Not ready to retire! #satchat
Thanks @SenatorDurbin for running your mouth & making PUBLIC statements that damage diplomatic relationships between the United States & foreign nations and put our TROOPS IN DANGER in those countries.
Nice work shithole!
#SaturdayMorning#CensureDurbin#ImNeverGoingto#satchat
A2: My strengths are my commitment to building rapport with my Ss and families. Getting to know individuals, helping where they need it most not just academic focus. #satchat
Hi everyone 1st timer to #satchat A2: I am one to take risks with idea. Not taht will do harm, but calculated risks or support others who are taking risks to build a culture of teachers looking to improve
@kwildehealey - sorry, that response was for you - not so much Susan. We are all here for each other - the PLN on Twitter is powerful and uplifting. Great to not be on an island. #Satchat
I was at that point two years ago - almost quit teaching. I found a way out through my Tweeps, brought my passion into the classroom, and never looked back. I hope it gets better for you! https://t.co/yCbrZO76fH#Satchat
I'm not afraid to "walk the walk" with people - kids, parents, staff, administrators. Honestly, that's a challenge of leadership, but it's also where the greatest rewards lie. #satchat
A1: I see a 25 year veteran kindergarten teacher and school leader, who wakes up everyday excited to provide a safe and nurturing environment, encourage S’s to ask questions, and foster a love of learning. #satchat
I agree. I have been very lucky to have and excellent mentors. Now I go out of my way to intentionally support young teachers and connect them with others to play that role. We have to support each other on this for sure. #satchat
My pleasure! I recently went through a down period - ended up changing districts after 10 years because you have to do what you need to do to keep the passion. Undervalued is not acceptable. You need to find where you can shine! #satchat
A2. I think my strengths are that my students trust me, they truly believe it is our classroom, my willingness to try whatever they need to be successful, and letting students take control of their education #satchat
A3 One of my weaknesses is that I talk too much when I’m excited. Shut up, Lauren. Make room for them to be excited. Or take the cue that they’re not, and listen for what they *are* excited about. #satchat
A3: My patience (or lack there of) is a definite weakness for me. I need to remember to take a few seconds to cool down before responding and remember that their behavior comes from a position. #satchat#winwindiscipline
Same boat here. #Twitter changed my teaching career. The right PLN is everything. Let’s you know there are a ton of top-tier educators out there who are right there with you, and that you’re not the crazy one for trying. #satchat
Since my daughter was born and I began to teach Environmental Sci., I’ve made it clear with emotion to my students their future (and one as my daughter’s elders) is at stake within our class’ issues. I’m good at making sure they know I’m not wasting their time. #satchat
Chris, I have had the pleasure to see those strengths through your tweets over the past several years. Thank you for always being authentic & genuine. #satchat
A3 Due to all the hats, weaknesses are keeping myself organized with the volume of work, finding work life balance, and being too hard on myself when things fall short. #satchat
A3: I am absolutely not at all good at: remembering to take roll consistently, handing out anything given to me from the office or a club, grading research papers (Well, getting started. I rock it once I get going...), inventory, filling out forms...#satchat
Reading, researching, digging, connecting--asking why & applying passions to all things. Diving down rabbit holes. What isn't: collecting data for sake of data. Having to standardize "because," doing dittos, exams, high-stakes evals & tests... #satchat
A3: A weakness that I’m mindful of and constantly trying to improve is my tendency to be impatient with adults...particularly when I feel the person is placing their own agenda above the needs of the students or our school! #Satchat
A3 Workaholic. Need to schedule breaks in. I have been better at that this year though! No need to stay late at work if you are already done with today’s items. #satchat
A3 I forget that I can't do everything on my own and I don't know everything. My way is not the only way or the best way. I work on this all the time. #satchat
A3: Being too critical of myself, worrying about what others think about my work, not thinking that little ol' me can change any of the traditional nature of education in a trans-formative way. #satchat
A3) Letting adults affect my thinking rather than Ss...still working on this, but I’m getting much better! Differentiation, tech integration, innovation, and cross-sub integration will always be areas of improvement for me, bc they’re a MUST! #satchat
A3: Often, I get excited about new ideas and take on more than I can handle, resulting in being mediocre at a lot of things instead of great at a few #satchat#2018goals
A3:
Falling into the same trap anybody with an official certificate of anything has fallen into--we accept walls that should not exist--which may be the biggest cost of being what we proudly call "professional."
(Oh, and double spacing after periods....)
#satchat
A3 To give up on educators that do not bring passion to the job. As a peer, I do not waste my time with them (though I should encourage them more), but I also feel that it is not my job responsibility (even though it brings down the school's culture). #satchat
A3- Weakness would be the "hard conversations" Those are never fun, but necessary at some point. Some people aren't concerned about solutions, so driving that conversation around solutions is difficult when it's one sided. #satchat
A3) Impatience! Change is hard, takes a long time, and is messy! Easy to forget that others may just be beginning a journey that others in the organization have been on a long while. Take the long view. #satchat
If Twitter keeps shadowbanning, restricting & otherwise interfering with both left & right accounts to appease centrists, it will end up being nothing but a sad Hillbot congregation like Verrit. And no one likes Verrit.
#SaturdayMorning#satchat
My greatest weakness as an educator is the inability to say NO. I'll say yes to doing things even when I know I'm already stretched with time. #satchat
A2: Background knowledge and experiences (all the wonderful and smart people I have had the honor to know and work with over the years), commitment to all children, and dedication to problem solving in and out of the classroom. I also ask a lot of Qs #satchat
A3 - Finding balance in home and work. And then balance within work as to what to pursue and tackle. Seems to be a similar #satchat them. I'm pretty sure the #LeadLAP 10:30ET chat will be about this!
A3: My weakness is definitely trying to stay on top of things...planning, organization, timeliness of feedback, interventions, SLO's, eval., mentoring a student teacher, fighting for public ed, my own family #SatChat
Yeah..... I can relate. I have made it an ongoing goal to keep track of my "contributions". If left unchecked, I have a tendency to hijack the room!! #satchat
A3 One of my weaknesses is that I talk too much when I’m excited. Shut up, Lauren. Make room for them to be excited. Or take the cue that they’re not, and listen for what they *are* excited about. #satchat
A3: worrying that it's never enough; did I miss something, did I fail them? In the same token, it causes me to reflect and improve but hard not 2 get down on myself first. #satchat
A3: Too often I let what interests & excites me guide the direction I take. Not always a bad thing, but as Ts we can't spend a month on something just because we like it. I get distracted from some important tasks by coming up with more interesting things to do. #satchat
A3: One weakness is letting my passion and drive to improve cloud the practical steps needed to manage change. I've learned a lot over the years. Older and wiser (I hope). #satchat
A3: my weakness is that I sometimes show I am upset when something I believe is best for kids doesn’t happen. This is not effective anyway and there is always more than one way to do something. #satchat
Glad to know I'm not the only one. Usually pretty good with this, but as soon as things become busy, that's the first thing to go. Wonder why that is? #satchat
A3 Organization. The Desk Monster (whose power is the baility to spread papers, paper clips, etc over my desk top) often defeats me. I think there is a benefit to my serendipitous nature, but often Im wasting valuable time finding/re-doing what's been done #satchat
You got it! Put my name on a sticky note, give it to the secretary, and make sure the call goes through. :) Looking for a nice log home, so it will be a few years. Don't leave without me! lol #satchat
A3) Weakness🤨 Something I am definitely working on this year is being more visible for my teachers & students. Getting into more classrooms daily & connecting with students #satchat
A3: weakness is reigning IT in. IT is usually excitement, ideas, and anything that I read about, see or experience that I want to make a reality in my environment ASAP. Patience is a virtue....that I’m working on finding #satchat#honesty
A3- balance- in #highereducation I’m always “on” and have to force myself to separate teaching and home. I’ve been more cognizant lately of putting devices down and focusing on the person in front of me. #satchat
A3 Weaknesses...taking chances in the classroom adds stress to Ss, lessons that fail can sometimes throw classroom off track, could pay better attention to fine details. #satchat
This is a really great topic. The balance between looking through the wall and separating from negativity. Maybe you're building it up by building positivity cohorts:) #satchat
#satchat
Christians & Patriots, remember & obey! Savior Trump Christ gave up his greedy rich lifestyle to sacrifice his white fat body, blood & hair for our salvation in the name of Trumpism, bigotry, racism, hate, & ignorance. Be Loyal! Honor & Worship! Say Amen!
So true! My PLN was a saving grace! That, and being inspired by the EdCamp teachers I met by attending. Made me realize that there would be a great place for me. I found it last month. Love my new home. #satchat
BAMMM -Schools have been using the silo model way too long. All the research point to collaborative models being so much more effective to support high levels of learning for ALL students. WE way more effective than ME. #satchat
My passion - leads to impatience. I’m learning to take my time and enjoy the journey ... And who doesn’t prefer to be on a rollercoaster than a carousel? 🎢 #satchat
A3: My weakness as an educator has to be my continuous struggle with time. Ugh change my schedule like an early dismissal and all bets are off😖 #satchat
A3a: And in complete transparency my weaknesses are also coffee and shoes. Can’t pass either up. So just don’t ask to see my closet or how many cups I have had...#satchat
A1. There’ are a few more gray hairs in the goatee but I see a wiser leader who cares deeply for his students and staff. The smile is completely genuine. A few wrinkles from being “battle” tested but a guy who’s filled with love and great memories of teaching. #satchat
1/ Hmmm. Yes. But more. My learning epiphany has been that sometimes schools aren't the places of real learning. Outside schools are. So how do we flip that and leave red tape and bring back passion/authentic desire? #satchat
A3. I love being connected, but still have trouble putting myself out there sometimes. Trying to remember that: “not everyone will agree/support/cheerlead” - to embrace that versus run from it is challenging for me! #satchat
Another risk @JoyceMatthews_ is changing how I spent our budget and great an avenue for teacher voice. I blogged a little about it if you are interested https://t.co/gCbTS6IENd#satchat
A3: My weakness as an educator would have to be that I doubt myself all the time. I know what I am doing is right, I know thinking outside the box is great but sometimes when others think you are too “non traditional” and doubt you, sometimes that doubt sticks to you. #satchat
With anything that is suggested/implemented, if I do not feel that it is best for kids (after research/collaboration), I will influence for something that is a better use of time for the students. #satchat
A4: Without reflection there is no growth. There is also the chance that you are only seeing the negative. Take a look at the positive/improve your outlook. #satchat
Here's to all who have shared the need for balance. Now go have a great Saturday. Hug your family, play hard, and be forever grateful. Thanks for the great #satchat
A4 If you don't reflect and look in the mirror, you don't have the opportunity to celebrate what you're doing well and what you need to work on. #satchat
A3: My strength can also be my weakness. I focus so intently on each student being proficient that I can totally bog down and stay on a topic waaaay too long. #satchat
2/ I was experiencing feelings of stagnation, institutionalization in schools and realized students were, too. So I started taking my passions and "doing for real," and teaching students to do the same. Life changing. Powerful. #satchat
A3: Also have been working on talking less. If I find myself lecturing for more than 5-7 minutes, it’s time to move on and let the Ss do the talking. #satchat
This sounds like me too. On one hand it’s very rewarding to be a part of so many meaningful projects, but it can definitely be taxing at times! #satchat
My greatest weakness as an educator is the inability to say NO. I'll say yes to doing things even when I know I'm already stretched with time. #satchat
A4: An educator's career is decades long. Much can and should change. It's a long journey, impt to see where you have been and where you want to go. #satchat
A4: I love this question! I reflect all of the time- this week I sent out a survey to staff after our staff meeting- one positive, one improvement and "other"- I have learned so much! #satchat
A3) Delegation is sometimes a weakness for me - not because I’m a control freak, but because l don’t want to add anything else to anyone else’s plate. #satchat
A3: Sharing too much information: my Dear Mom regularly told me that I try and educate my colleagues too often, to my own detriment. She was correct.. So, trying to cut back. #satchat
A4 - Education is changing every day and we need to be on it to best reach our kids. Plus we all need change to make it fresh. Reflect where you are and where you wanna be and it's likely you'll come up with something more engaging for you and those your reach #satchat
A4: without reflection we could end up in the "way we've always done it" cycle! We need to understand that everything we do can be improved. Look at how we treat each student and colleague. We can always be better! #satchat
A4: Reflection can aid self-awareness which helps us to grow as people and educators. Reflection that leads to identifying your core beliefs as an educator can also be very helpful #satchat
A4: Reflection builds awareness-gives us feedback-we grow by understanding our successes and failures, time to reflect build our efficacy and consciousness-win/win! #satchat
A4: Because when things are going "well" it seems that nothing can go wrong and that we are on Cloud 9. It is important to realize that there are still areas of constraint where growth can take place. #satchat
I have found that you can accelerate the work by better planning before it starts. Listen, consider barriers, listen, discuss options, listen, plan adult learning/support needed. And then listen some more. :) #satchat
#satchat GM- Theresa Humanities Director from Long Island- A1- I see an educator who was learned & changed so much in 17 yrs-I see a piece of all my mentors along the way- each wrinkle -freckle symbolizes new ideas, conversations, students and teachers who have taught me
A4: So important! Reflecting is how we improve. We ask our students to examine their work so they can learn from mistakes and build on strengths. We absolutely need to do the same! #satchat
Another strength that is needed to be a risk taker is tuning out nay sayers. What I do in my classroom may not be another teacher's cup of tea, but Im not going to allow their rolling of the eyes to stop me from trying something new to better reach my students #satchat
A4 I can’t imagine how I’d keep growing without regularly reflecting, and I really can’t imagine how I’d keep doing this work without growing. #satchat
A mentor of mine always says we tell ourselves some pretty good stories about how things are going. So it's important to reflect, alone and with others, to better understand our reality. #satchat
A3: I often have too many irons in the fire, involved in too many projects. Also work long hours, I've been told I should make more time for myself. Planning is not my strong suit. #satchat
A4 so you’re not that teacher w/ LPs she hasn’t changed since 1989 & so you’re not accidentally hurting kids (through bias, misperceptions, etc.) #satchat
A3 - #satchat Weaknesses - timid, not good at tooting my horn, could go deeper in lessons, don’t spend enough 1:1 time w/ each student, often think my idea is only idea
A4) Reflection is like checking the GPS on a long trip- are we on the right road? Did I miss a turn? It’s also importantly take stock of core values-what really matters? #satchat
A4- we can get complacent and content if we don’t reflect often. Good is the enemy of great and we sometimes need a look in the mirror to see how we can be better! #satchat
A4 We are so fortunate to be connected to a great #PLN, to work with super kids, and talented Ts. These connections provide us new insights and ways of thinking. Reflection of who we are brings these experiences into context. #satchat
A4: Reflection cultivates growth. It's good also to see how far we've come and how far we've still have left to go. Reflection pushes us to continue to stretch, open our minds on what's possible, what's better, and where we should be heading. #satchat
A4: Reflection is important for a number of reasons...to ensure your actions match your core beliefs & values, to evaluate if your practices & processes are yielding the desired outcomes, to ensure you remain up to speed in an ever changing world! #Satchat
A3: I have to say.... sometimes deep listening is a challenge. I pride myself in the relationships I maintain, but sometimes it is difficult to find a place to pull in when the waters are moving swiftly! #satchat
Q4: reflection is important at work and in life! If we don’t think back on things, it’s like we are above learning. Which seems ridiculous to me. #satchat
A4 Reflection means I have slowed down enough to look. Stop trying to change 4 flat tires while driving down the freeway and get the jack out. #satchat
A4: Reflection allows us an opportunity to examine our core beliefs and to make changes. These changes often allows us to grow. Growth is key! #satchat
Great and honest response. A culture based on a commitment to high levels of learning for ALL must be built to allow for safe and honest feedback on difficult questions of student learning. #satchat
I offer daily encouragements/thoughts/ideas EVERY day on our staff fridge. However, I also know the old saying about leading a horse to water. #satchat
3/ I realized the default answer I got in schools was "no," or "you can't." If & if was being told "you can't," so were kids. Culturally. So, now I make sure any time I deal w a kid/teen, it's "You're going to be world class in this!! Here's how." #satchat /end
A4: Running on autopilot is a lousy way to go through life. Reflection allows you to celebrate the good & identify/modify the “room for improvements”. #Satchat
A4 If you don't reflect, you can't see the troubles and the triumphs that you have seen. Reflection will also provide the initial road map of where you want to go as an educator, or with a particular student, or just an idea. #satchat
A4: I find that reflection yields growth. #blogging#PLN#twitter#reading - all keys to my own reflection, growth, and steps on my journey in education #satchat
To my PLN, my Mercer County superintendent colleagues and I have put out a Call to Action on mental health and teen suicide. Look for the below symbol on all Mercer County School Districts for resources. There is always HOPE & HELP!

A4: I am a deeply reflective person, much of which takes place in my head. But, I reflect many times throughout the day, but not just about teaching. #satchat
A4) Reflection is vital to growing professionally & personally. Taking time to reflect on what has or has not worked, helps us all to #becomebetter#satchat
A4- being reflective is important because you spend the most time with yourself. Therefore you have the biggest impact on who you are and what you do each day. #satchat
A4: I think in the world we live in where others doubt us, look down on us and tell us we are not good enough... we need to constantly reflect and evaluate ourselves so we don’t become what those negative people say we are! #satchat
A4: Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful.
- Margaret J. Wheatley
#satchat
A4 reflection should be happening daily. Reflection allows me to make adjustments or continue on the during the lesson I am currently teaching. #satchat
I've thought about tacking a list both in my office at home and clssrm of the things I must straighten up before I leave. But then I would need a note to remind me of the list. It would be perpetual. Maybe I need to hire a personal assistant LOL #satchat
Scott, I think that "balance" is a myth. And I have much more to say about that sometime if interested. You can stop looking and have a different perspective.
A4- I need to know how I can get better. Self reflection is one of the most valuable pieces and if it's done correctly, it can have a huge impact. Receiving reflection also comes with actions. Can't just be told, actions have to follow. #satchat
A4 Reflection gets you out of the weeds and allows you to look at the forest. Seeing overall direction. Focus on some positives, since the negatives are always so amplified in my head. #satchat
Reflection is key - my students will be grading their own writing efforts through a reflection sheet. Should be interesting, but I want them to understand its importance as a step in the process. #satchat We all learn from looking in the mirror once in a while.
A4- reflecting forces me to reevaluate situations from a more global perspective. Does this help others? Does this move me toward a goal? I can then make better time decisions (my weakness) #satchat
Most welcome - we send the wrong message to our kids and each other that unless they always finish they have failed. Knowing when to “hold em and when to fold em” is a life skill #satchat
A4 - #satchat - reflection is necessary because I refuse to be the same teacher every year - not evolving w/ new opportunities would be boring & im not a boring teacher
A4: If we don't reflect, we don't think about how we can improve and we would not give ourselves credit for the things that went well... In a career where trends are ever changing, it is so important to constantly reflect. #satchat
A4 Reflection allows for growth. If you don't feel like you do this, think about any professional growth book that you have read. You read it and then implement some ideas. Why? Because you have reflected about your teaching and you believe it will make you better. #satchat
A3. A weakness I have is that my willingness to try new things leaves me mid-air in a leap of faith from time to time. I’m not afraid to fail so I tend to jump in when I need to maybe tap the breaks. Blessing and a curse I guess. #satchat
A4.2: blogging has been one of the best ways I've reflected. Creates time for me to sit back and put into words where I've been and where I want to be! #satchat
A4: Reflecting is the only way we will recognize why things are going well, why we are getting stuck and why our systems and students are progressing (or not!) Reflecting is all about the important WHYs of our practice. #satchat
A4 reflection is essential and I would add critical evaluation too. One of the best tools for this is blogging because you can share what you learn too #satchat
There are many different paths to mastery, and how a student gets there largely depends on their funds of knowledge. We’re most successful when we allow students to have the agency to puzzle + ruminate. With mandates, evals, etc., this can be dififcult to remember. #satchat
A4: Love this question -
Reflection=Growth
Reflection is so important, especially in education. Reflecting allows us to grow, change, and be better everyday!
#satchat
A4: Helps us identify where we are right now, & where you want to go: steps we need to take, skills/attitudes we still need to work on, & finding help along the way. #satchat
A4. Without reflection, it’s too easy to fall into the same habits, same lessons, same assessments. A set of questions I use for tech integration works here: 1) what [tools] do I want? 2) what do I want to be able to do? 3) what do I want my students to be able to do? #satchat
A4 I think sometimes you just need to pause and see if the educator you want to be ( in your minds eye) is the educator you are ... if not you need to change things up until you become what you strive to be #satchat@DynamicDuda338#WonderTwins
#satchat A4- reflection is so imp because we are all infallible- we are human & make mistakes - we need to learn from those mistakes - my best learning came from my biggest mistakes
A4: It is a MANDATORY practice to reflect my practice regularly and witb fidelity. Great leaders gain perspectives from ALL stakeholders and use it to fuel the fire! I have learned not to do so results in a troubled organization!! Ask questions and reflect often!! #satchat
A4: Reflection is necessary for growth. It can sometimes be painful to reflect on shortcomings, but that’s the only way to improve. #satchat#reflection#improvement#growth
Been using the old planning posters with small post-its today. They caught on and I was really impressed that they were using the right vocabulary. (Although not repeatable, resolution or precise).
I like @MeehanDJO’s suggestions to turn off all those apps... they just add to the noise. For focus, I’ve been using a #bulletjournal to keep me moving forward. Helps with my artsy inclinations too #satchat
A4 What was the point if youre not going to reflect on what you did? Maybe it's me, but I dont like doing something just to do it, what was its purpose, did you achieve it, was it good/bad, etc. Reflection is the #1 characteristic of growth #satchat
A4 metacognition is a high impact strategy to positively influence learning - taking time to think about what how you think and what you do is a critical learning tool- good for adults not just kids #satchat
A5: Let them know you are there for support. Do not pressure, but nudge and encourage. People need to reflect and grow at their own pace in order for it to stick and be effective. #satchat
A4: If we don't reflect, we don't think about how we can improve and we would not give ourselves credit for the things that went well... In a career where trends are ever changing, it is so important to constantly reflect. #satchat
Democrats now want to tie the word 'chain' to slavery. I wonder what fluffy, bullshit, feel-good word they will come up with to deceive the public in place of the word 'chain' in 'chain migration.'

It includes mental health & teen suicide risk of all of our students and we are building and looking for resources / services / programs to address these issues with our students and our communities. We started with a large presentation & now want to do focused sessions
#satchat
A4: #satchat Reflection is important for personal and professional growth. We have to pause to reflect on what was learned frequently. We should process in segments. This reflection about reflecting comes from EWR: https://t.co/uSY7UmZEts
A4-We need to reflect in all areas of life-as teachers, as parents, as partners. My dad would tell me one "dies" when one stops learning. And sadly there are many who are "dead" but still influencing. #satchat
I'd definitely try it! Write and post it on twitter! Tag a few followers and let people into your reflection! People do care! It's a great feeling! #satchat
A4 I’d add that the world changes, too. My kids are scared by the world right now - facing immigration and health care challenges; hearing 45’s comments; I’m using new skills to stay relevant to them. #satchat
A4: If I could gift every teacher one thing, it would be 5 minutes at the end of every lesson to reflect. It is that powerful. What went well, didn’t go well, what changes are needed. We are so busy doing we have little time for thinking.#satchat
A4: I don’t want to become a T who teaches same content year after year after year. Reflecting helps me keep things fresh and interesting for my Ss and myself. #satchat
From time to time isn't nearly enough. Educators must reflect on their practice every single day.
To know if I'm effective, I must ask, "What did I do? Did it help kids? What was right/wrong about it? Where should I go next?"
#satchat
A5: Be the change you wish to see-model an attitude of gracious collaboration and empower others to grow together! Give Ts what they need and let them run with it! #satchat
A5: This is sketchy territory. I believe in supporting people who actively seek help. I have tried, and for most of my career, to support and educate colleagues when they really didn't want it - at least, not from me. #satchat
Yes I agree that it should be mandatory. We should always be asking and reflecting as it not only demonstrated best practice but also because it is good for us. #satchat
We *can* control our institutions over the long-term by refusing to acquiesce so easily. I'm guessing less than 10 teachers on #satchat this morning have addressed racism in their buildings.
A5 Model, encourage, support. Cheer like crazy when they take a risk that they have been afraid to take. Answer questions and just like with students, be present. #satchat
A5: Recognize that everyone is at a different place with different circumstances & experiences and that's ok. Everyone has value & brings something unique to the table as an educator. Meet each other where they are & work together to best educate Ss #satchat
Agree. Recently had to do this and realized that I only saw what went wrong rather than what went right. Someone else had to point it out to me on what went right. #growthmindset#satchat
A4: Growth. It’s imperative we strive for excellence in education. Keeping current with trends and issues and working to meet expectations of the school community as a whole. Reflection allows us to be aware of where we are and how we can improve. #satchat
I do mine as needed. I have a close group in my PLN that I tag my posts to and they give support. Keep a close group and re-evaluate when you can. #satchat
The world will change with your example, not with your opinion. Do something good today, an act of kindness goes a long way. Show love, others will follow. #SaturdayMotivation#SaturdayMorning#satchat
This idea of reflection as a route self-improvement is incredibly important because many teachers don’t get what they need from the eval process or district-provided PD. We need to learn how to reflect + make time for it both personally + in spaces like this to grow. #satchat
@dcpsmoss, I love that quote about the smartest person in the room is the room. I remind myself of that often. I never want to be "that guy" who gets passion and enthusiasm confused witb arrogance. #satchat
I can relate, too. I have to remind myself that to be truly reflective, I have to listen to every stakeholder who speaks and take their point of view into my reflection...instead of just mine.
A5 Help by sharing and demonstrating best practice. If I learn or know about something that is useful to all it is important to share. Offer training sessions on #PLN or using a specific online tool. The more we share the more we learn #satchat
We are constantly changing and the work can get deep, fast. We need to reflect to make sure we are still working towards our vision and if that vision needs tweaking. #satchat
When I watch kids making something sometimes they lose interest or just aren’t ready to finish but take away something from the process they can use - kind of an Edison moment #satchat
A5. I teach Ts #TicklingTech Tuesdays to introduce SMALL, useable #edtech in the classroom. Result: Ts come to me for help & ideas. No issue is too small. Once comfortable, a T will take off on their own.
#satchat
A5) Starts with dialogue and the leads to discussion. Connect with those that are where you aim to be and be open to receive information & adjust your mindset as needed #satchat
A4: We are constantly changing and the work can get deep, fast. We need to reflect to make sure we are still working towards our vision and if that vision needs tweaking. #satchat
Share ideas, thoughts, concerns, etc. We don't know what we don't know, so.. COMMUNICATE!!! Actions tend to speak louder than words, so I would also model while stopping to take time to reflect with others. #satchat
A5 It's that everyone needs to share what they are doing. We all grow when we are sharing and trying new things. If they are growing, it gives me new ideas and motivations to continue to evolve. We abhor "It's always been done this way." #SatChat
A5: Meeting educators where they are, establishing “the why” when asking them to embrace a change or take a risk, modeling for them what progress looks like with it being ok for setbacks along the journey to growth! #Satchat
A5-Share ideas, thoughts, concerns, etc. We don't know what we don't know, so.. COMMUNICATE!!! Actions tend to speak louder than words, so I would also model while stopping to take time to reflect with others. #satchat
A5 Be excited about what YOU do in classroom & w/students, I know I am more willing to listen to someone who presents an idea that way. When someone approaches me w/attitude of "Im right, youre wrong" their arrogance leads me to reject anything they have to say #satchat
A5: Give them opportunities to try, fail, and try again. Open doors to other classrooms and give Ts opportunities to see what is happening. Not teach in silos. #satchat
#satchat People cannot make rational decisions or talk about future if they do not understand the path they just walked -
#Democrats must address the current threat to our democracy if there is going to be a way forward
Prior 2 Campaigns 2018, DEMAND #independentcommission
A5: It's easier than ever thanks to tech! We can chat on Twitter, Skype or GHO individually or for a workshop/bookstudy, we can chat and discuss on Voxer. And, I started a global pineapple chart. We can post things daily or frequently to #EDUdailyTweets . #satchat
A5-#satchat by never wasting their time with meaningless PD or faculty meeting. By being intentional with everything I do. I am open to mentor and guide and hopefully will make more of an impact this year
A5: Be professional in criticism--and I don't mean "professional" as being nice, I mean professional as in incisive and deep feedback when needed. Education needs something like medicine's Morbidity and Mortality conferences--point out each other's mistakes.
#satchat
A5: Find ways to make the virtual world less virtual w/chat transcripts, etc. to use as an entry point & initiate a Twitter challenge- check out #bellinghamps...we're on Day 9 of our 18 day challenge! #satchat
A5 Listening to understand, not just respond. Sharing what works for me with the awareness that it may not work for them. Taking time to sit alongside and help. Just what I do with Ss! #satchat
A5: By sharing our own professional learning practices and inviting them into the digital educator 🌍 #twitter#podcasts#pln#bookchats#satchat I try to find one thing that can be meaningful to each teacher I work with as a starting point
A4: We ask our Ss to grow so to be the best role model possible, honoring mistakes and improving supports our mission. Plus how boring for everyone to be the same over and over? #satchat
A5: How can we help fellow educators as they continue to evolve in the physical and virtual worlds? Sit side-by-side with them as you help. It's not enough to learn new skills by doing once. Doing new skills must be repeated frequently to become newly-learned habits. #satchat
A5 Form and support a #PLN, network through professional organizations such as @PAECT Contribute to the conversation and practice what you preach. #satchat
With their complicit SILENCE following unapologetically racist comments by @realDonaldTrump the vanguard of @GOP leadership affirms again they're firmly aligned with White Supremacy.
Today's @GOP isn't a political party, it's a HATE GROUP that fosters domestic terror & division.

What color is the glass?
Trump: Clear
D: Purple
R: I can’t tell but I’ll stand by Trump
D: Are you color blind? It is purple💯
Trump:But you can see through it so it is clear
D: we weren’t asked how opaque it is, we were asked the color
#TrumpTrain : What Trump said
A5: be a person they can turn to...don't always give advice (unless asked to) but just listen. Let people talk out ideas to you. Be there for them. #satchat
A5: By modeling, sharing, and discussing best practices. Connect educators with whatever resources you have, books, blogs, videos, class visits. But also through listening and empathy. I say this mostly as a reminder to myself! #satchat
Ahh Billy Offer Ts time to design, plan, think together - we have to take steps to significantly reduce student seat time and increase value of learning time - move from information learning to concepts, context, and knowledge learning - how to learn strategies #satchat
A5 - Be in a trusting place to have shaping conversations - ones that build up and polish both sides. Trust that the words being shared are to make things better for our kids. Dialogue is important so that assumptions are resolved. #satchat
#satchat It's such a broad idea (maybe started with the #WorldWideWeb algorithm) #InItTogether/LinkedIn is an amazing concept...Endless possibilities, but we can start somewhere.
A5 part 2: Model risk-taking, provide growth mindset feedback to staff...focus on the PROCESS...and personalize staff meetings/pd so people are empowered and have choice, motivation and are met where they're at! #satchat
A5 I think the biggest help we can be to each other as educators is to be sounding boards. Win I think I have a great idea I talk it out and have someone tell me yeah this'll work or no you need to change this. That's where a lot of growth occurs. #satchat
A5- I think the best ways to help each other is exposure to new things, purging of old initiatives if they’re not working, and open, honest dialogue with each other. Our conversations have to move from the “land of nice” to the “land of growth & innovation!” #satchat
A4. Reflection isn’t a sometimes thing. It’s continuous. I know at the end of Every day the guy looking back at me in the mirror is an awfully tough critic and I make it a point to not disappoint him. If that guy is good I know I’ve done right by kids, Family, and Faith #satchat
Ahh Billy Offer Ts time to design, plan, think together - we have to take steps to significantly reduce student seat time and increase value of learning time - move from information learning to concepts, context, and knowledge learning - how to learn strategies #satchat
A5: I have been sharing my #OneWord2018 it's been a good discussion among my co-workers. It's nice to keep each other accountable and motivated to reach our goals. #satchat
A4: important to constantly reflect, refine and renew your teaching. Kids are the best teachers, they reveal challenges in your teaching, the system, curr etc. #satchat@TheBradCurrie
A5: A good place to start would be discussing institutional norms that tolerate or contribute to stratifying our culture by race and ethnicity.
Did you say anything yesterday about the POTUS belief in "shithole" countries?
#satchat
Q5: Be a sounding board, initiate the conversations, share the successes just as much as the challenges. There's so much power in the "what do you think about..." and "how do you..." Growing together rather than in isolation makes less work for Ts & more benefits for Ss #satchat
AGREED. The PLC learning community is not just a few teachers or content area folks - but the entirety of the school. It takes a village to raise kids - its about ALL of us so ALL kids can learn. #satchat
A5: Recognize that everyone is at a different place with different circumstances & experiences and that's ok. Everyone has value & brings something unique to the table as an educator. Meet each other where they are & work together to best educate Ss #satchat
A5 - Be in a trusting place to have shaping conversations - ones that build up and polish both sides. Trust that the words being shared are to make things better for our kids. Dialogue is important so that assumptions are resolved. #satchat
A5: the best thing we can do for educators is wncourage them to use the opportunities they have available. After they begin to see the depth of their students’ thinking, their views will be changed forever. #satchat
OH Look! A Republican cat lifting a Democrat puppy out of a shithole.
The Right always has to pick up the Left and help them, whether literally or via taxes---you can even spot it in nature. 🤣🤣

A6:As an administrator, I can’t say enough about books by @PeterMDeWitt Collaborative Leadership and School Climate. @VisibleLearning research and Visible Learning for Teachers is a must read! #satchat
If you always wondered what the kids were reading in the schoolroom scenes in Little House on the Prairie... well now it can be told. This morning on an ALL NEW Innovation Nation.
A5 & A6:
5: Learn from others first. Then share if others ask. Build relationships first.
6: Get out of edu. Learn things everywhere else. Then layer what you learn on your teaching. WHAT a game changer. #satchat
A5: Share the WHY! I share with passion, but little expectation. My hope is for peers to see the value in what I do. In the end, that is all we can do. Your peers have their own priorities, they will seek support when they need it, when they are ready for it! #satchat
A6: Read as much as possible. There are lots being written out there that can challenge and help us grow as educators from books, blogs, social media posts, newsletters, websites, etc. Also connecting with other educators who help you grow and evolve #satchat
A6 My Educators pages https://t.co/4SCuPYA8iz have a plethora of resources to help support evolving educators. All grade levels, subject areas and admin pages too. #satchat
A5 teachers should consider not just their work in the classroom, but also how we are making other teachers' work easier/better. e.g @eternitymod#satchat
#satchat A5 Continuously nurture a culture and climate that allows for instructional rounds, #observeme opportunities, teacher-led PD, and true collaboration. All guards down.
What?!?! I’m looking that up now... I’ve been combining my #bujo with @GoogleKeep for those thoughts I have while driving, working out... you can voice dictate your notes then drag/drop into a doc. #satchat

A6 Other educators are the best resource. Find them in your school, find them on #satchat#bfc530#NoVaedechat As teachers, we are surrounded by experts!
A6: Promoting local resources here. For Ts-- @twoguysde for excellent YT tutorials. For #edleadership -- #SH302 for leadership development. Check them out! #satchat
And now we turn to the Caligula chapter. As the saying goes, history doesn’t repeat itself, but it does often rhyme.
Mr. President, your toga is showing

A5: For someone to accept help they need to see a problem. As a teacher coach, I have been sent to help. But the recipient did not see the need. At least 3 of them continue to teach unchanged a decade and several more coaches later. #satchat
A6: We don't need to lecture all hour. The mini lecture is still effective, but moving Ss to engagement & then empowerment can result with the death of the lecture. Ss ask, what is ___? I reply, "Google it. You're holding a Chromebook." No more sage on stage. #satchat
Agree! Modeling is important. I have to remind myself sometimes about modeling what I say rather than just saying it. Get caught up in circumstances rather than stopping and reflecting. #satchat
A5: Meet together, plan together, observe one another and debrief. The more team oriented we become, the more ownership we take in honing our craft. #Satchat

A6 - I've become a fan of https://t.co/UPQUKpSSsF and listen to the summarized articles. There are always a few great article shares for teachers and admin colleagues that I then pass through. Still overwhelmed with the twitter feed and gleaning resources from there #satchat
A6 - on-site, always tossing ideas at teachers, don’t hoard the great tech ideas, invite my teachers always to edcamps & conferences, & am available to help #satchat
Q6 I feel strongly that fellow Ts are the first resources to share. Someone oncanous is doing a good job at something. Honor/showcase. That starts convos that can lead to other recommendations #satchat
A6 I would suggest having conversations with colleagues in their school, go to an EdCamp not connected to their school, and trying out Twitter. #Satchat
A6 Put awesome books out there. Share, share, share. Everything, websites, blogs, podcasts. Even if they don't do anything with it today. It is available to them when they are ready. #SatChat
A6 I would share my bloghttps://elizabethutch.blogspot.com as it has lots of ideas about how teachers and librarians can collaborate to enhance student learning :) #satchat
A5: Listen, listen, listen. Help them articulate their concerns, advocate for better working conditions and a voice at the table, and champion the good work they're doing in their communities. See the good in their work and assure them the challenges will pass. #satchat
A5 Be present, invite colleagues to your space for observations and to provide feedback, make yourself available to do the same, share resources and encourage participation in a #PLN. #satchat
A5: Being open to what we can share with each other — that we can be supportive, esp in times of failures & difficulties. But also learn to celebrate all good things no matter how small, like joining @twitter#chats for the 1st time. #satchat

You can’t get rich in Politics UNLESS you start a foundation. Then you can take foreign monies for Political favors, & sell 20% your Country’s Uranium supply & funnel it into your foundation to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. SEE how it works? #ClintonFoundation💰
A6- the greatest resource we have is time. Don’t be afraid to give time to people. The extra sub, the free period, you name it, be creative. The educators we work with are our own greatest resource! In addition, #edcampLI#twitterchats#teacherchoice#satchat
A6: There are so many great tools like @twitter, @flipgrid, and @wordpressdotcom to help us learn and grow, and yet I still think that we--as people and evolving educators ourselves--are each other's best resources. #satchat
“In the U.S., we tend to confuse #responsibility with compliance. A student is responsible if they do what they are asked to do. But this level of responsibility doesn’t actually help #students#grow as individuals.” #satchat#edchat
3 things excellent schools around the world have in common. A well-traveled former teacher says it comes down to a few key practices grounded in core beliefs. https://t.co/MnxdXgqSVF
#satchat A6, Twitter is the obvious one but so many of my colleagues don’t use it not sure why. Twitter is my go to for everything new and for growing my PLN. Sorry to say couldn’t grow without it
A6: Books that have been helpful—Mindset, Innovators Mindset, Start Right Now—all great resources. Also I’ve found Teaching Channel to be an exceptional resource! #Satchat
A6: look for edcamps in your area...start blogging...don't be afraid to share with colleagues and on twitter. Educators are working towards one goal...provide the best education opportunities for students! #satchat
A6 Try to think through how what you read, see, hear, etc. anything that is quality can be shaped to reach your students. Listen to podcasts on the way to work, read books (Play by Stuart Brown & Why Dont Kids Like School by @DTWillingham are 2 great ones), etc. #satchat
I’m SO GOOD at presidanting! Wouldn’t it be nice if I was leader of the world? I’ll be asking MY diplomatic advisors and generals about how to make that happen. #satchat#saturdaymorning
A6 Organizations such as @southernmainewp via #NWP, twitter, and #EdCamp (register for #edcampME today!) are all ways to engage edus in reflective conversations that benefits teaching and learning. #satchat
A5. I think being intentional in your leadership and relationships goes a long way here. Personalized sharing based on individual’s needs helps the collective team. Making deposits is so critical to helping people grow. If you have make a withdrawal then it’s easier. #satchat
Edutopia is an excellent resource, Twitter chats, great books; I will randomly (but not so randomly) give books out for people to read. Have Ts use each other as they are a lot of great teaching going on within our building and district! #satchat
We Salute you & Thank you Sir!

Yesterday was a big day for the stock market. Jobs are coming back to America. Chrysler is coming back to the USA, from Mexico and many others will follow. Tax cut money to employees is pouring into our economy with many more companies announcing. American business is hot again!
A6b: I answered an old Q! Oops. Definitely share what you're reading-books & blogs, the importance/value of Twitter, and podcasts. I freaking LOVE EDU podcasts. #satchat
A6. If you ever have an opportunity to complete the #EQ360 do it. Knowing where you stand within your emotional intelligence is important for growth as an educator, leader or human being. #satchat
A6: Share yourself. I have learned more from conversations from seasoned educators. Without your sharing and words of wisdom, I would not evolve, I would just be one of those "Book" educators. So thank you in advance for helping me evolve #satchat
#ImNeverGoingTo Any shithole countries. Such as:

A6: As much as I love Twitter, my advice is to find someone you can meet with in person to reflect on your practices with. Having @CHSiddonsfor this changed my life/career. #Satchat
Yes! My PLN saved me from walking away from education not too long ago. There are so many resources out there that no one should feel they are an island but the human element makes it worth it! #satchat

A6 I teach high school. My best resource is a brilliant middle school teacher. Seek excellence outside your dept./ division and steal like mad! #satchat
A6: Get plugged in and grow your PLN. I find more tools and resources tgrough mine than ever before. It is important to find likeminded professionals in whatever capacity you serve. Share and venefit from the sharing of others. Grow your game!! #satchat
A6: Sharing lesson plans, experience, and incorporation of technology that has benefited my classroom. Mentoring programs have also been an effective way of helping teachers grow and improve their craft. #satchat

Read #InnovatorsMindset cover to cover. Talk about it with your PLN on Twitter then share it with your faculty and staff. @patton_carl bought copies for every teacher in the @OConnellHS English department. It’s a game changer. #satchat
Thank you #satchat PLN for a great conversation!
Thanks to my co-moderators @TheBradCurrie@wkrakower
We are back next week at 7:30am EST
Have a great weekend!
Q6: The Leadership Challenge! It's a more general leadership book, but we are all leaders in diff aspects & this book initiates powerful reflection perfect for evolving educators. Bonus: it's available as an audiobook so you don't have to find ⏰ to read it! #satchat@TLCTalk
Thank You to our #PLN for making this another amazing #Satchat. See you next week at 7:30 AM. Thank You to my co-moderators and the co-founders @TheBradCurrie & @ScottRRocco
@TheBradCurrie@ScottRRocco Thanks for your good work. It's still fairly early on the west coast but glad to have joined #satchat this morning for awhile.
A6: Time & time again, I’ve always been saying that lurking & participating in #chats have helped me grow professionally & keep me updated w/ what’s new in educ (& connect/interact w/ a fantastic group of professionals). #satchat
So true. The EQ stuff matters. I’ve seen #PLN members pretend to be leaders they aren’t. And sell ideas they cant@prove. Let’s start with honesty and humanism. And integrity. And love. 💙 TOO many liars. #satchat
I submitted a proposal for the first-ever crowdsourced session selections for #ISTE18

#satchat
A4: We ask our Ss to grow so to be the best role model possible, honoring mistakes and improving supports our mission. Plus how boring for everyone to be the same over and over? #satchat
