A1: I start by complimenting & praising the teachers for non-tech strategies they are using in the classroom. I want teachers to know that I recognize solid instruction, that I am a teacher first and techie second. #ETCoaches#tosachat#leadlap#acsa
A1: Trust can be built by making these teachers' lives easier. Show them a tool that will make them more efficient whether for professional or personal reasons. #DitchThatCopier is a great place to start or even #GoogleKeep to help them with reminders. #ETCoaches
A1b: Start by setting the tone that you as a coach are not there to evaluate them. Show them you will not change how they teach, but how they reach. #etcoaches@JoeMarquez70
A1. Greetings, listening, and asking questions to get to know people before offering up any advice or tips helps build positive relationships and trust. #ETCoaches
A2: Create screencasts and/or visual step by step tutorials to guide teachers through the process of implementing technology when we are not physically able to be present with them. #ETCoaches
A2. MODEL MODEL MODEL!! Show them that's it not scary!! Let them shadow you, offer to set up some activities for their classes while they are there watching. Don't force it on them! #ETCoaches
A2. Letting teachers know that their students benefit when they can figure things out and assist classmates and the teacher. It's okay to not know it all! #ETCoaches
A3: Plan and co-teach a lesson. When I say co-teach, don't do your tech thing and leave. Be part of the student work evaluation process too. This shows you're invested and on their side. #ETCoaches
A3: You have to have your teachers' backs. Celebrate their victories, but never share their struggles/failures with administration. Be your teachers' biggest cheerleaders. #ETCoaches
A3. I think that actually telling them that you are there to support them and have no role in evaluation helps. Then make sure to zip your lips when talking with their principals. #ETCoaches
A4: I like to say to resistant teachers - I'd like to try something in a classroom and I don't know if it will work, can I test it out on your students? This models risk-taking. #ETCoaches
A4: To get resistors to put on adventure hat, it has to come off the heels of a small success. Get them going with some easy "wins" and then they're more apt to take some risks. But you have to strike while the iron is hot. Can't wait too long after a quick win. #ETCoaches
A5: Remind them it is our duty as educators to show kids how to use tech for more than entertainment. In today's world, to be successful, tech for productivity is an essential skill. If they're producing with tech, it's less likely to be a distraction. #ETCoaches
A5: Platforms that allow students to see answers from the entire class keep learners on task via internal accountability. This also increases motivation via authentic audience. #ETCoaches
A5: Its a distraction only if we let it become one. If we utilize the tools they use outside the classroom, inside the classroom, their experience will become more meaningful and distractions will be less of an issue #ETCoaches

Q6: Teachers can feel like the poopmoji if they view technology as one more thing on their full plate of instructional duties. How might we address this concern? #ETCoaches
Q6: Teachers can feel like the poopmoji if they view technology as one more thing on their full plate of instructional duties. How might we address this concern? #ETCoaches
A5: Distraction is just an excuse, and excuses are the enemy of innovation. The truth is we let fear hinder us from trying something new. We need to #DitchThatFear and and allow our strength of being an awesome Educator empower us to be and try something different #ETCoaches
A6: We must emphasize integration. We don't have "Tech Time", we use the proper tool for the proper task as led by a learning goal. If technology can be used to accelerate the learning & or more effectively document the process, we have a win! #ETCoaches
Q6: Teachers can feel like the poopmoji if they view technology as one more thing on their full plate of instructional duties. How might we address this concern? #ETCoaches
A6: As @JoeMarquez70 says, Tech isn't one more thing on your plate, it is the plate! Show them how it makes you more efficient by improving workflow and providing students with more prompt feedback. Show them the engaging power of tech. Create, not consumption w/tech. #ETCoaches
Q6: Teachers can feel like the poopmoji if they view technology as one more thing on their full plate of instructional duties. How might we address this concern? #ETCoaches
A6. Focus on learning first and technology second @lkolb Tech can no longer be used as an add on, it's got to be integrated into the learning and instructional process. #ETCoaches

A6: When we have a chance to make a change we can either be paralyzed by our weaknesses and decided to stay the same, or be empowered by our strength and let that power overshadow our fears! #DitchThatFear#ETCoaches
A6: Rather than use SAMR which focuses on tech, we teach teachers to plan for student engagement in the 4 Cs. I always say, "If you plan with the 4 Cs in mind, the tech will take care of itself." #ETCoaches

You may have taught 1000s of students in your career, but each year this is the FIRST time they get to see you. They deserve the best you you can possibly be. -J Marquez WOW!! @JoeMarquez70#CFISDDLC#DITCHTHATFEAR#CDWGetsIT
A7: Get to know teachers. What do they enjoy teaching? What is their passion? I had a resistant teacher who had maps all over his classroom walls. I told him about google my maps & he learned the tool on his own. Motivation & context matters. #ETCoaches
The 4 Cs is much more welcoming to a tech resistant teacher than SAMR. Tech can be suggested naturally as a way to enhance the teacher's instructional goals, rather than as an end of itself. #ETCoaches
A7. Finding out what the passions of the teachers you work with would be the first step. Sometimes those strange icebreaker activities come in handy! #ETCoaches
A7: Help teachers learn to connect and interact with their passions via tech. From there, they can begin to see similarities between teaching and tech integration. #etcoaches
A6: I reply, "Then you are using technology wrong". Technology is supposed to bring you out of your cave and into greater collaboration with your department or PLN. Many hands make light work. Technology IS the PLATE which allows you to carry more! #ETCoaches
