A1: Our families and community want to know the great things happening in our buildings! Pour on the positive and drown out the negative! That is my motto! #eduar
A1: because we all have a unique and interesting story that no one else can tell. People can learn from us and be inspired and empowered by OUR story:)) So share it!! #JoyfulLeaders#EduAR
#EduAR Sharing our story allows others to identify with us and it validates what’s happening in their life. It creates a connection upon which relationships are built!

A1. My story - it spanned over 40 years and each step of the way I learned so very much. From mistakes along the way and personal connections with stellar teachers I grew. #eduar
A1) If you don't tell your story, someone else will... and it may not reflect you or your school in a positive light. Share the struggles and celebrations! #eduAR
A1. When traveling down the road that made up my life story I often made a new beginning telling myself, "this is not how my story is going to end." #eduar
A1: The story of what's going on in education is being told by outsiders with an agenda. It needs to be told by educators who shine a bright spotlight on the remarkable things happening in classrooms. #eduar
#EduAR Sharing our story allows others to identify with us and it validates what’s happening in their life. It creates a connection upon which relationships are built!
A1. There were times during my journey when I didn't like aspects of the story so during long periods of reflection and reaching out to others for advice I was able to change it. #eduar

A1: When you bravely & vulnerably tell your story, you give others permission to do the same. What I've witnessed after "breaking the ice" at sessions is life-affirming. #eduAR
Okay #EduAR friends...my head is spinning from the fast paced feed!
Or it could be the flu still lingering. This is the longest I’ve sat up in three days. 😂
YES. This isn't self promotion. Celebrating success of ourselves and others is a GREAT thing. Coversely, sharing our struggles and our vulnerability is a GREAT thing. #EduAR
a1 Stories are how we learn-connect & build empathy. Your story is about your journey-the good & bad & that's what ties us together in this journey #eduAR
A2: I think the first challenge for most people is actually figuring out your way. Self-awareness is essential. Once you have a sense, write it out, rewrite it, practice saying it to friends until you get it right. #eduar
A2 ha!! Communicating our why is important!! I just made this this morning at 5:00 am - and here you are asking a great question about the importance of “why”! #EduAR
A2 Share growth...your own, your students' or that of your school. Often that growth will be beyond content or pedagogy. We celebrate it all. #outcomes#EduAR
A2 First, we have to keep our focus on our why! When that is our daily focus, it will shine through our Twitter, FB, or Instagram posts. It will be obvious in our newsletters and other Parent communications. #EduAR
A2: We use SM to share our story! Most Ts have class FB pages & twitter accounts. Our school has both & highlights what’s going on! Love sharing photos! #EduAR
Me too. I love to read and tag along in the journeys of others. In turn, I like to blog to share my own stories so people can tag along with me. #EduAR
A2. Our KIDS Leadership team will tell their story tomorrow! Showcasing WHO they are and WHY they are a leader! (P.S. They are FIRST graders!) #EduAR
Can't Wait!!
A2: This captures it well; your story evolves every day. You can share it in a video or a long-form, but you add to it with every post, every Tweet, ever presentation. #eduAR
A2: At the end of each week, we compile tweets from Ts into a Twitter Moment! It allows you to see all the amazing things that happen over the course of the week across campus! #EduAR
We had 2 days this week and went BIG! Greeting kids, BayNews 9, New Year celebrations with students and a commitment to teaching with engagement and intention! WE ARE CALDWELL https://t.co/qu5dCkj5FN
This is so true Amy! Sharing our journeys provide hope for others and help to make connections that help us grow as teachers, leaders and humans! #eduAR
A2) We often feel we are the only person that can tell the story. I have learned that students are the best way to communicate the story of the school. They openly share with their friends and parents when they are engaged and feel supported. #EduAr
A3: A brand helps you connect emotionally with your community. It contains promise, personality, look, voice, service, attributes and memorability. #eduar
DrKia from MO here late! A2 I blog, podcast, attend meetings for community groups and talk to parents regularly. Basically I take any opportunity to underscore what motivates me to continue in this work and to hopefully ignite others as well #EduAR

A3: Some see having a rand as a negative thing...it is so far from that. A brand helps share an important message for a bigger cause. It isn't about promoting a person. Some twist branding into that. #EduAR
#eduar A3: We all need to be good teammates/community members. But it's also important to be authentic. Don't forget who YOU are. Letting Ss see you be genuine encourages them to bravely be who they are as well.
#same it has been SO MUCH FUN figuring out something new..And nerve wracking to drill my thoughts down to something that can be taken in one episode at a time! #EduAr
Q3 It distinguishes you from others...sets you apart. #EduAR Story - a t at our school did a certain dance move at a recent assembly. Everytime she walks down the hall while my class is also in the hall I notice my Ss doing that move. It's her brand with them!:)
Your “brand” pushes you to maintain a clear and consistent focus. It keeps your efforts aligned to your core values... adding credibility and creating authenticity. #EduAR

#eduar General response: Live your life as if everything you said or did was going to be posted online. Even if what they post isn't true. --Richard Bach (I think)
I shared the work of @robertkaplinsky on #observeme with our @CentralCabotpK4 staff, and also in our Smore newsletter. I have my goals embedded in the weekly family newsletter and posted in our school. #EduAR
A3: Your brand precedes you, it lets others know that they can trust you, and that you are committed. It also makes you approachable so that you can connect with more and share more! #EduAR
I remember when @SteeleThoughts ' "brand" became crystal clear and it almost seemed to drive you each day to share more and more. Educators caught on and learned more! #eduar

A3) Having a brand is important, but I never want to be perceived as linear or stagnant. I'm known for my passion for making and hands-on learning, but I don't want people to not reach out if they need help or encouragement in something that's "not in my lane." #eduAR
A3: Respecting my brand helps me focus and make decisions about how to spend my time and what I choose to share, and how. I filter everything through "Does this reflect who I want to be?" #eduar
A3: Living your story and having a brand tells people that you love you and if we can’t love ourselves who can we love? #EduAR It also tells people that it’s possible to live your dreams.
A3 in my opinion it helps me to make sure that all of my energy goes into projects that really matter to me. It also ensures that any future partners know exactly what I am about and how I stand out in the education space #EduAr
Yeah my "brand" is pretty much educator who tries to hurt himself in the mountains & drinks too much coffee & loves hops & barley & his family #nailedit#eduar

A3) My colleagues had to help me understand branding. For me I was following my #MoralImperative and walking in my #Purpose and that is the most powerful form of branding. #EduAr

I love being a @Buncee Ambassador, because it is such a powerful tool for communication and for sharing our brand/story! The possibilities are endless! #EduAR
#eduar A4: Don't just give grades: Give feedback. Ask Ss for feedback in return. The more conversation you generate with Ss, the more they become the vessel of the story.

Q4: Leverage the full toolkit of communication tools. Meet people where they are. The biggest obstacle to effective communication is the illusion it has been accomplished. "If I say it they will hear it" is a lousy communication strategy. #eduar
I think it is about sharing our WHY and what we are passionate about in a visual or written representation. A symbol, graphic, phrase, hashtag that matches your vision. #EduAR
A4: Transparency in beliefs and brand isn't comfortable for everyone, but it is necessary to put ourselves out there for the bigger cause. We are advocates. :) #EduAR
A4 I am a fan of ANY NUMBER of blogging sites (I use WordPress), Twitter, LinkedIn, FB, heck @SmorePages newsletters! Phone calls and in person meetings work too! Communicate often and encourage involvement. That is how to take control of a narrative and spread a message #EduAR
A4: social media is great! Tthe ‘people’ will reign supreme as the best storytellers in a school. Use the social media as a platform. Let people bring the passion. #EduAr
A4) Working in a rural district, I can't just rely on email and social media. I try to invite families, community members, and business owners to come to school or the local library to see student showcases or participate in learning opportunities. #eduAR
A4: Typical answer - social media. Right answer - hands, feet, mouth, and ears. Heart and Mind. The best way to communicate your story is to live it. #EduAR
A4: I think it’s important to know your clientele! Most of our families utilize FB so that’s our main focus for sharing our story w/ them! Twitter, @Seesaw, @Flipgrid & other resources are used across our campus for communication w/ all stakeholders! #eduar

A4 I'm stoked to be doing #teachNVchat with the most amazing @SaraHolm15 to get Nevada (and others) educators stories out there - have a passion start your own chat-be a creator not just consumer #eduAR
A4 Twitter is a great place! I got a Twitter high five ✋ and retweet today from a teacher in Lagos, Nigeria! I am constantly amazed at how far reaching our shared stories can be!❤️ #EduAR

🙌🏾🙌🏾 #this it is NO EASY TASK establishing a presence and building a brand because it DOES leave people open to scrutiny BUT the brand isn't the person in this profession, it is the cause behind the person and that makes it worth it! #EduAR
A4: Transparency in beliefs and brand isn't comfortable for everyone, but it is necessary to put ourselves out there for the bigger cause. We are advocates. :) #EduAR
A5: Our personal stories make us human and can help people relate that might can’t relate to our professional story. They add a much needed dimension to OUR story:) #EduAR
A5: Sharing our personal stories make us human; they create an authentic connection to us, one that makes everything else easier to share & be understood. Oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood. #eduar
A million times YES, Dr. Kia! We often get scrutinized for self promoting because we are so public and vocal about our brand. These are people who don't see beyond the surface to our WHY. It can be hurtful, but we must press on and know we influence. #EduAR
A5 #EduAR The stories of others inspire me...and the opportunity to share my story makes me want to grow every day. That moment when a colleague is inspired by you...I became a teacher for those moments.

Sharing a story and having a brand unifies people who stand for a specific cause or WHY. That is powerful, because we are #bettertogether. Don't our kids deserve that? #EduAR
A5: Showing our personal story too reminds everyone that we are regular people who make mistakes & experience hardships. But we can use those to build strength, learn, & grow. #EduAR
A5 I do it for a few reasons 1. To let the heater know that I am not perfect. 2. To let the heater know that it is possible to overcome adversity 4. To educate someone who doesn't realize they have been offensive #EduAR
A6. Created this one quite a while ago - the waterfall is a symbol of all of the words being shared on Twitter and the sunlight shining onto what they share adding depth for all who read it #eduar
A3: If we don’t live our brand somebody else will. Learned my lesson when somebody beat me to the Air Jordan brand. That was supposed to be me :). #EduAR

A5: sharing our stories w/ others inside & outside of education highlights how much we are all looking for validation and acceptance...getting a like on Twitter still makes me smile 😊 #EduAR
A5: It provides opportunities for personal connections & relationship building. I’ve formed some pretty incredible friendships via twitter. I’m excited to get to finally meet some of them this year. These people have changed me for the better! ❤️#EduAR
A6. I could blog more often about the transformational journey I was on during my time in education in so many different states and places so others could learn from this #eduar
A6: Before we can start communicating our brand ... we need to think long and hard about what drives us and what we are about as educators. Then when we have a clear vision, we can start sharing and comminicating:) #eduar
A6) I can invite parents in more often to witness our transformation, rather than waiting for the Spring Showcase. Their Ss are doing things they may have never seen or imagined. I'd also like them to tinker themselves to experience the value of high and low tech making #eduAR
A6 It's been said....be ready to share at the drop of a hat and when necessary, drop the hat. Summing up...prepare your story and be alert for opps to share it. #EduAR
