Welcome to the Chat Erik!
Study their pictures before the first day of school so I know their names! Lots of hugs, tell them how much I care.
A1: Find that something special about each student and let them know how glad you are that they are in your class.
A1: Spirit days! Showing Ss that school is a place where I want them to feel as if they belong. https://t.co/CrJVGDLGuQ

A2: Not calling out kids quietly walking over to them when being disruptive to let them know you know w/o drawing attention
A2: Proactive strategies are the best ones to me. Praising positive behaviours early and consistently are important.
A2 Tell the kids what they can do not what they can't! Whole Brain Listening- I just started to dabble in this!

A3 Hugs, eye contact, special one on one time, if they are absent tell them how much I missed them, call them sweeties
A3: By being aware of non-verbal communication: smiles, laughs and maintaining eye contact.
A3: First of all, no yelling. Nobody has time for that. Look for ways throughout the class to actually talk with Ss.

A6: When Ss have someone who believes in them, they can begin to believe in themselves.

A6: Students see that their educators believe they are very capable and proud of their risk-taking.
What we expect from our students is generally what we will get from them. https://t.co/gfK3qvOXEY
