Q1: Excited! I am in the home stretch of starting a new career - after 26 yrs in higher ed - I’m student teaching and will get my initial cert in tech integration in January. #edtechchat
A1: The start of the school year has me feeling like the space of life will gradually speed up, then faster and faster. Reading assignment will be my "best" friend. #edtechchat

A2: I was recently introduced to the concept of PLN's in class. It is clear to me that being an educator, there is always something new to learn. I am beginning to understand that with the continuous progression of society, teachers are also progressing. #edtechchat
A3: Unless we focus on creating the conditions for powerful learning first and foremost, #edtech will continue to fail us in the classroom. #Technology amplifies effective instructional practices, for better or worse. #edtechchat
A3: this summer I learned a lot about global ed & investigated tools to use. I was excited I could share what I knew with a teacher in the building in my 2nd day. #edtechchat
A2: Seeing my school PLN gets me feeling I'm an integral part of a large whole and we can share with each other about our ideas, and thus leading to collaboration. #edtechchat
A3: I read The Wild Card by @WadeKing7 and @hopekingteach. I was very inspired by their creativity and stories. If you are looking for a great read check it out. #edtechchat
A3: I learned how important it is to start using social media to build relationships, to network, and to learn new things. To start using it in a professional manner rather than just for entertainment! #edtechchat
#edtechchat I learned about the power of place and how to read landscapes when talking about the history of a place. Also that PhD dissertations can make you crazy
A3: #edtechchat I read #LeadLAP this summer. Great book, highly recommend. Inspiring to think about new ways to present content and think outside the box.

A3: I did some innovation in SAT reading. Instead of teaching the articles. I found some interesting novels in the famous book and made some slides. It seemed my students were more interested in character analysis. #edtechchat
A3: I learned having confidence is important. When facing a brand new field, I thought I couldn't succeed in this area and even didn't dare to take the first step. However, the fact is that finally I stepped out and enjoyed the new field. It's interesting. #edtechchat
A4: @Flipgrid. It’s all over my twitter feed. Need to find a way to incorporate this. Someone shares a new example everyday with Ss, Ts, and Ps. #edtechchat
A4: I am still a college student but I learned about Schoology from a second grade classroom I student taught in! I set up my own account for my Instructional Technology course and am excited to learn more about its many uses! #edtechchat
I do a version of #paperminecraft that simplifies it and allows all schools to build. Most schools do not have access to computers that will run minecraft #edtechchat
So far, all of my meetings have been really simple, "What can I do with my smart board?" type stuff. It's great for building trust. I need to be seen as someone with use who comes from a strong pedagogical background before we can tackle the tough stuff. #edtechchat
#edtechchat american sign language is the one class I teach the rest of the day I provide special education push in services so I am not responsible for teaching content just supporting my students in the classrooms of others
A4: Doodle is a wonderful app to set a time for a group of people to hold a party or meeting. Using doodle can easily find the time when all the participants are available. Now groupwork is essential and prevalent, so doodle helps me a lot. #edtechchat
Have them record signing practice? Or have them ask a question in sign and have other students post the answer to the question. Lots of practice if can happen #edtechchat
That's a great idea! I usually show them a couple simple tricks they can easily incorporate to build comfort with the technology. Magic Pen is usually a big winner. #edtechchat
Flipgrid could be a great low stress way for them to practice conversations. It's good because they can record and rerecord as many times as they need. #edtechchat
A5: I personally do not have any students although having worked in a classroom before, I cannot wait to have students. It is rewarding to know the majority of your students will appreciate you and your work #edtechchat
#edtechchat sat in a teacher led PD that made this type of thing easy and allowed me to provide individual feedback to the student but it was a year ago when I didnt need the resource and now cant remember the name of it will have to locate the flyer we got.
I found out about rocketbook https://t.co/S3kMMpQaAO and it is incredible. I purchased because it was such a great way to organize. Definitely a cool idea that could transform. #edtechchat
Not something I learned this summer but something I am looking forward to learning more about are Chromebooks. We are implementing 1 to 1 this year. #edtechchat
A5: I'm now a student rather than a teacher. But there was a time when I taught students from grade 4 and 5 in China. Recalling the day on which a new semester started and the students stood around me, the moment was so precious and I was so energetic. #edtechchat
#edtechchat that was my favorite thing to do with one of my previous administrators. We got to do more teacher led PD at that time. I loved showing people how to use the SmartBoard to its full capabilities
@LaurenAngelone I participated in the #edtechchat. We talked about PLN's and how we felt about the upcoming school year. They were very open, and welcoming. They kept it funny with GIFS.
That gives me a lot to think about. I'm doing smart board pd in a couple weeks and was dreading the "this is how you resize an object" part. #edtechchat
A6: We’ve got a bunch of cool stuff. Seesaw for k-2, CampusPress for 3-5+, Tynker, Dash robots... I’m lucky, they tend to recommend pretty cool things #edtechchat
A6: my professor in my Instructional Technology class has been showing us many different ways in which we can use google classroom, it's a great way to have students collaborate and share ideas! #edtechchat
You will love being able to connect with awesome educators. But remember that it is ok if twitter isn’t your thing. Find the platform where your tribe is and be there #edtechchat
@LaurenAngelone I participated in the #edtechchat ! I really enjoyed sharing ideas with other professionals and learning the different technologies they use in their classrooms. I look forward to participating in more edchats in the future!
Yes! My district actually paid for @tagboard a few years ago, every building has a hashtag and board, plus the district as a whole. It’s been awesome. #edtechchat
