Awesome you could make it!
Hey can't go wrong following He learned my kids up & knows his stuff https://t.co/mOAvcAES7M
my first time! I'm excited. Always see tweeting!
, a1, we set academic goals, but both are important, this is definitely something to discuss in our leadership meetings.
A1 all of these goals are important but without 1st the academics won't follow
. Both types of goals. Depends what I want and what is best interest of S. Most times both intertwined and support each other.
I start with character goals and we have that discussion to build the classroom community 1st,then build academic goals A1
A1 pt2 once the character goals are met, students hold each other accountable for academic goals
Hi! It's JoEtta. Checking in late and exiting early, but wanted to let you all know that I value your chat & the things you do!
A1 both types. Depends on what I want and best interest of S. Both intertwined each support other.
do you feel character goals are all year or only at beginning?
A1 I try to have students set academic goals first, and reinforce character goals throughout the learning process
Some told me their goals last spring at Step Up Day. I'm excited to ask them next week for what they dream & hope for the year
A1: we set academic goals but they are both important and I think this yr I will do both
Awesome to have you for whatever amount of time!
hi JoEtta! I hope you are well. :)
agree-I always had academic goals but now realize I missed out by not having both is so key https://t.co/MJkrguaOrU
A1: we set academic goals but they are both important and I think this yr I will do both
our 2nd question is about to drop
A1 Student goals are more valuable when they're measured and charted by the students.
I find it interesting to study how schools in other parts of the country address character/SEL Ed.
A2 I think both, let's dream big and work hard but celebrate the small successes along the way
yes-they have more buy in when they create them then follow up on them https://t.co/mNKAgJmWvn
A1 Student goals are more valuable when they're measured and charted by the students.
, a2, I think both are important, they need to see where they need to be and how to get there in smaller steps.
Do you feel these big & small goals need to be connected-like big math goal tied to specific skills https://t.co/HS5qso43i5
A2 I think both, let's dream big and work hard but celebrate the small successes along the way
A2 As an educator&πcoach, my mindset: you can't accomplish long term goals without stepping stones of small term goals
I don't think 1 is better than the other. It's important to have BIG goals w benchmarks along the way https://t.co/qtz32ZO0Or
what about developmental/age appropriate character goals?
A2 both, more realistic. Goal setting is a skill. Goals are wishes with due dates.
Ahhhhh. I'm late. What do you expect. 2 year old & 2 month old at home. On about 3 hours of sleep. Rodney HS History T at AACT
Question 2 follow up: Do they need to connect? i.e same content area or character goals
Question 2 follow up: Do they need to connect? i.e same content area or character goals
A2: I think both.. Have mini goals to get to the big goal. Small successes are critical to keep us and Ss motivated
Hey you must have read my mind for my follow up Q https://t.co/fdRof9Wb5C
A2: I think both.. Have mini goals to get to the big goal. Small successes are critical to keep us and Ss motivated
Yes Mandi! So important to celebrate the milestones that help us get to the marathon finish in the end https://t.co/nMWwoA0LwV
A2 I think both, let's dream big and work hard but celebrate the small successes along the way
A2: Both. Establish long term goal and then small measurable goals that work toward completing large over arching goal
Great Q? are some goals more important for certain grades? https://t.co/YXfULGhCSd
what about developmental/age appropriate character goals?
I think it's helpful & mean.if they are, but not necessary. We want students progressing all around, growth=growth
A2 Again depends on where S in on readiness. Some can do big. Others need to learn to set, achieve small, and how lead to big
Do you mean do the little & big goals connect? I think some littles lead to the big but some littles are their own
Hey man its all good! stoked to have you here for however long-you always bring the A game https://t.co/wmmSIIYFlV
Ahhhhh. I'm late. What do you expect. 2 year old & 2 month old at home. On about 3 hours of sleep. Rodney HS History T at AACT
Our last question is coming up
yes to both-wonder if there is tipping point where we might have too many goals & they lose power https://t.co/gFv38c7BU8
Do you mean do the little & big goals connect? I think some littles lead to the big but some littles are their own
A2: I think that goals become more challenging and require greater grit the older the Ss are. Think your goals for HS vs PHD
A3 great ?, it has to be meaningful and relevant, when they see the value it's all worth it this is where celebrations come in
I don't think there can be too many goals but not all celebrations will be equal or even apparent to others
A3 the authenticity of Ss goals and their desire to achieve them is π. Have to have buy in.
Great point! are they worth while goals that mean something to Ss https://t.co/JjK0PDYu1W
A3 the authenticity of Ss goals and their desire to achieve them is π. Have to have buy in.
, A3, that's the power of an awesome teacher, they help students see the importance of bettering themselves in all areas.
A3 What's the intangible reward? Notice effort, process, completion, perseverance, self-satisfaction, recognition.
yes! Master Ts make Ss see the learning as the reward https://t.co/pdX3NM3nRJ
