A1 #Caschat i've been using exampro to produce weekly exam papers for homework. a topic a week. still have the challenge to get students not to treat it like an exam paper and allow themselves to look up the answers!
#caschat a2 trying to force the kids to do the table before they start writing the essay answer is difficult. they just want to jump in and answer it. but it's what i was like at that age
Thanks for sharing Ben! I do this too! Create a table with description, adv and dis-adv for each or description, evidence and example - 1 point for each!

#caschat A2 i like "what is it, what's it for, back it up with an example" thats for a standard question. If it's a 3/4 mark-er i tell them to bullet point that sucker, so they can see how many points htye have made. as long as it doesnt' say written communication.
We use PEE too - Ask Ss to PEE on their work :D (Point, Evidence, Explain). I sometimes also put a picture of a BIG horse on the whiteboard to remind them to include a 'because'! #caschat A2.
Essays tend to involve the ethical and legal, so keep practicing with different scenarios. I always attach the generic markscheme for knowledge and understanding and use a highlighter to help them understand why they got the mark they did #caschat
