Morning all! I’m excited to head to the House of Blues in Boston to see the History of the Blues with my 6th graders! Won’t be around for today’s chat- I’m heading in early! #BFC530
Morning everyone ! I get to sit in on interviews today. I find that somewhat exciting yet I'll miss bit being with my awesome students for much of the day #bfc530

I know it is cliche, but I didn’t choose teaching. It is in my blood..generation #3 and my daughter is #4; course I did want to be a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader for a while; we see how that worked out.. #bfc530
Kentucky Derby, I am assuming. One of the ways I know Spring is here! that & the Masters! Oh, & opening day in baseball. I have a weird calendar #bfc530
I feel that I was called into teaching to be a role model for the students, especially those from a single parent home where they do not have a male influence. #bfc530
I became a teacher because of the outstanding teachers I had along the way & because I wanted to be able to coach!
I remain an educator because there is no other profession that is as important & rewarding as being able to help a young person reach their potential.

I believe my life experiences molded me into a teacher. My mom was an elem T, my amazing sister has Down's Syndrome. Special ed came naturally to me #bfc530
#bfc530 Why teach? Teachers are learners with wonderment. Commitment and care compel teachers to prepare another class-cohort to join in the adventure of learning and wonder.

I don't think I can answer this in one tweet. Ironically, I remember being miserable in HS, walking behind a teacher in the hall thinking why would someone want to work in a place I considered hell. Years later , Somehow that might of been my motivating factor to teach #bfc530
Why do I teach? It’s my vocation...way beyond a job...my passion...my way of giving back, giving up, giving my all to help young people experience love, joy, growth, learning and hope. #bfc530
My honest answer is I believe that is what God has called me to do. My hope is to inspire the next generation. Teaching science is my platform. #bfc530
I am a 5th generation teacher - but never intended. I know that I will make a difference - help ss build confidence, find success, discover their tribe & lane. There is excitement, challenge and joy in the journey every day! #bfc530
Best reason. I was a professional fund raiser who wanted to provide the service I was so passionate about. Teaching is a calling. Glad to be in it with you. #bfc530
A1~ to educate, inspire, bring out the best in Ss, make someone’s life better as a result of my influence so they in turn can do for others 🌎~a change agent #bfc530
Why do I teach? B/c most mornings I cant wait to get work, it is always exciting to see a kid "get it", make you think of something in a different way, or stand up for what they believe as my teachers did form me. #bfc530

I am an adventurer at heart, looking for knowledge and wonder, learning every day, I teach to facilitate kids discovery of all the wonders in their world! #bfc530 💜

Frankly, as much as I love the job, I need some down time to fully recharge. In June, they need to go, but by August I am losing my mind waiting for them to get back #bfc530
I didnt have the greatest of HS experience either, but I think that is why the exemplary teachers and students who DID go out of their way for me stood out & helped make me the teacher I am today. #bfc530
I teach bc it matters. Each child, their hearts, brains, experiences, learning, my colleagues....all of it matters and could help someone to change their life, to feel hopeful or maybe just to smile. I teach bc it matters. #bfc530

My teachers said I should teach. I got a degree in architectural design. I decided not to do prof practice, they said, teach. I came to the US. 23 years later, volunteering in a classroom, they said be a teacher. So I left my job and went back to school #itsapassion#bfc530

I teach because I enjoy working with young people, and I realize Ss need someone who truly cares about them as ppl. Having one adult in the building in the school that is there for kids makes a big difference. I try to be that person. #bfc530
I think it is just so exhausting..so exhausting.. we need time to recharge..and when I don’t take it, I regret it. We only have so much energy. #bfc530
#bfc530 I was drawn to teaching 1st by skilled mother/grandmother Ts. Then because as a student I saw injustice in how "good" Ss and "bad" Ss were treated. I stay because I believe that all Ss, given time and supports, can achieve great things, and, frankly, the kids delight me.
Who knew, back in the day that we would be so connected as educators now? Time changes the profession for the better as we go, I want to be along for the ride! #bfc530
Good morning #bfc530 PLN! How is everyone doing? Josh from NJ! It has been a while since I joined. So happy to hear the reasons why everyone is this PLN teaches.
Think about the magnitude of what teachers do ... we are shaping our future leaders ... our country ... our world. Planting a tree in a new global forest ... will they be strong or weak. #bfc530
Well time to get ready for work, Girl Scouts, communion rehearsal, baseball practice and ballet. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it! Keep being amazing !! #bfc530
I try to shut my mind down from teaching for 2 weeks when summer starts, but time off allows me to get my imagination going of new experiences for my Ss to enjoy & strategy to make it a reality. Originally, I just thought it would be cool to have 2 months off #bfc530
My original plan was to be a HS Teacher, changed my mind at the last minute college decision time, didn't get to it till I was 50 ! Really appreciate & love teaching !! #bfc530
If you are looking for amazing inspiration, #bfc530 is the place to be this morning (and each weekday morning). Dedication, passion, joy...we are on fire 🔥 this morning, friends! 😊💕
So true..and I am grateful every day for the connectedness. You all have taught me so very much. You have all invigorated me and showed me to be grateful for what I have. Thank you! #bfc530

I stayed in teaching because I realized that I had some amazing teachers, who loved their content, but never saw me as a person. They didn’t help when I was being bullied or reached out to me when I was suffering. #bfc530
Like Brian, @casehighprinc, teaching found me. I was unable to obtain this fellowship while I wanted to get a masters in biomedical science. So my mother asked me to substitute teach. It was there that I realized my passion, love and purpose for life. Never looked back! #bfc530
I teach because teachers I had made a difference in my world. I still want to do that for others; I have so much to pay back and continually am searching for someone to pay! #bfc530
I am in my 3rd year at 51. Can’t imagine doing anything else! It’s become a passion - lights me up every day. I feel that I bring a wealth of ‘life’ and stories to the table & a bunch of energy that was just eating for my kids #itsapassion#bfc530
Funny, my wife always tells me "You don't love history, you like history, you love teaching". I think there is truth to that. Maybe that is what allows me to place students before content. #bfc530
Recently their myself! Do yourself a favour and do the Atlantis Premium Submarine tour. It was awesome! Book yourself into @hulagrillwaiks Hula Grill Waikiki one night & try the Guava Chicken with Bamboo Rice. #bfc530

I teach because of the impact you can have on kids. From those simple moments of learning when the lightbulb goes off to moments like earlier this week where a kid you've seen grow up for four years writes you a graduation announcement that brings tears to your eyes. #bfc530

I teach because I want to be the teacher I wish I had as kid. I wish someone had stopped the bullying, or at least stood up for me. I wish someone had asked me how I was doing caring for mom who was bedridden. #bfc530
Have a great Thursday everyone! Inspirational morning reading all your thoughts on why you teach. Reason I try to start my morning with #bfc530 Im out!
Make it an awesome day! (I am actually going to bed....) When you have a spare moment, @edutopia has 20 Inspiring Reasons Why You Love to Teach Video.... #bfc530

#bfc530 Teaching is the best profession because you get to use your mind and your heart in equal measure. It’s the most human you can be. And your work lives on in the lives of others! You can’t beat that.

I accidentally fell into teaching. Was assisting a professor of edu dept in the Virgin Islands move from Mac to PC. Began teaching. Feel in love with Ss and then began my journey. #bfc530

I knew as a child I wanted to teach, my favorite play was to play school! I loved school, must be why I became a teacher! (Had rough moments, but they made me who I am) and I’m extremely grateful!
I teach because I want to be the teacher I wish I had as kid. I wish someone had stopped the bullying, or at least stood up for me. I wish someone had asked me how I was doing caring for mom who was bedridden. #bfc530
I had a rough time in HS emotionally and wouldn’t have survived without my Ts. I want to be there for Ss in one of the most chaotic times of their life. Whether it’s for comedic relief, an ear to listen, or play a game during lunch. Love them all. #BFC530
#bfc530 I’m not a teacher, but I want to thank you all for doing a good job in what has to be a challenging profession. I think back to some of my teachers who made a difference for me and am forever grateful.
I teach because I feel passionately about education. I truly believe that in this career we have the ability to change the world, and I want to have a voice and a part in the direction of that change. Our future is too important to not be invested in. #bfc530

POLAND lost 6 million citizens in WWII - 3 million Jewish Poles and 3 million non-Jewish Poles. The former were not citizens of Israel (which did not exist at the time). Poland has the right to issue an anti-defamation law to defend historical truth about her own people.
#WhyITeach knowing every child has potential to have many great accomplishments. Being there to help them reach those accomplishments, there is nothing better. #BFC530
For the summers off! Joking 🙃 Teachers who are committed to teaching teach because they are committed to children. Some even use their “summers off” to plan, read or take part in PD #BFC530
Would you believe me if I told you I didn't do any teaching-work at home for all of April? It's amazing how simple limits yield big rewards! #bfc530#edtechteamhttps://t.co/wmM4lHaDLW
