#ProsperISD chat open to all in and out of district teachers discussing best practices and working with students K-12. It will occur on the second Thursday of every month at 8:00pm CST.
A1: I want to get into more classrooms to see more cool things that teachers are doing with instructional technology! That will allow me to find more experts to match with others who are looking to meet their own PL goals. #Prosper4ward
A1: I want to develop the students of @TalonTechPHS to be leaders on the @ProsperHS campus and have them shape the learning and direction of the school and its integration of technology in the classroom #Prosper4ward
A1: One of my goals is to use more digital breakouts (@Mr_Nathan_Smith can you help me out with that?!) and to possibly prepare myself to go back and get my masters!!! #Prosper4ward
A1 I really want to have more discussion in my class- connect more with my students, my students connect more with each other, and all of us connect more with the texts we read. #Prosper4ward
A1: So many! Two are to be more intentional with differentiation (got some help from @SethJRutledge) and to conference with students more. Both have been going well. One goal is to encourage more teachers to sign up on the Pineapple Chart (w @MandyatSchool help) #Prosper4ward
A1: My goal this year is to implement effective intervention strategies for struggling learners! I want to utilize and balance technology and hands-on interventions. #Prosper4ward
A1: I want to give my students topics/teks. Then challenge them to create there own projects and presentations that go with a real world problem that they find interesting. #prosper4ward
A2 Post an interesting question on the topic, and let kids conduct an online discussion. AMAZING how much the quiet ones have to say when they don't have to say it out loud.
#Prosper4ward
A2: I try to look at good teaching practices and transfer one of the paper based good teaching activities to a digital format, key is to show that activities that are great can be moved to digital easily #Prosper4ward
A2: I’d point her to her friendly neighborhood ITS/librarian! Any of them will come into your meetings, classrooms, or help you in any way that they can! Who you gonna call? THE LIT TEAM! #Prosper4ward
A2: Digitized does not equal Digital. Digital is higher level. I would recommend starting easy by posting a question in Google Classroom and asking for students to respond and provide feedback and comments to start an interactive discussion & go from there #Prosper4ward
A2 Use Google Doc to help you conference with students, use Google Forms in Quiz mode then give students those grades and use that data to help drive your instruction. Figure out what is their "endgame" w the sheet and show them how much easier it could possibly be. #Prosper4ward

A2: Use tech as a tool for collaborating with peers, build a community of learners, don't just use tech as a sub for worksheets. Host a conversation, take polls, aks questions, and facilitate group projects. #Prosper4ward
A2: Rule of thumb- If I get 80 assignments that are exactly the same from students, it shows compliance not understanding. Create opportunities to create. #Prosper4ward
SO MANY THINGS! Let's try a Hyperdoc instead of a worksheet. Let's try some Google Forms, HyperDrawing, HyperSlides, or Nearpod. Let me help you take that worksheet and transform it into a student-centered, interactive activity. #Prosper4ward
A2: ummm how about class flow!! it has like everything right there to see how students are doing......(I am excited to help my teammates with this soon)#Prosper4ward
A2: Google docs so you can “conference “ with Ss as they work, Nearpod because it’s hands on for Ss, and have Ss create sites to share their knowledge. #Prosper4ward
A2: I would encourage teacher A to give the students many opportunities to research and create projects. Research is a skill they will always need! Our Kinders created a slides about their traditions! We had a blast!! #Diwali#Prosper4ward

A2 I would tell teacher A to really focus on how the students can SHARE their thinking and ideas with others. A) If they know peers will see their answers then they care more, B) They can piggy back on each other's learning. #Prosper4ward
A2: flipgrid, padlet, google suite, seesaw pick one to try out. Get a training from a ITS or tech agent, watch YouTube videos, and try to use it weekly for 2-3 weeks #prosper4ward
You are right! It's ok to step outside your comfort zone and let kids try things. They will surprise you every time. Don't let it be you holding them back. #Prosper4ward

A3. Let's try some Flipped Classroom strategies to start. Then give kids some choice, digital choice boards are awesome! Let kids collaborate and have them create something to demonstrate understanding. There are SO MANY fun tools you could use! #Prosper4ward
A3 BreakoutEDUs! My kids LOVE those! Genius Hour, too! Have kids develop their own EQs to research, answer, and present. Faciliate discussions - Socratic Seminars, class debates, etc. I love when my kids are driving their learning! #Prosper4ward
A3: Digital Scavenger Hunts, Providing blank Google Slides/Drawings and students create their own presentations; Interactive Tic Tac Toe boards with links to different tech activities; @DitchThatTxtbk has some great things to link #Prosper4ward
A3: I'm a fan of choice boards/menus. I like seeing their imaginations run wild with ideas. Anytime I can get my kids sharing their thoughts through videos or face-to-face, I'm game! @Flipgrid#FlipgridFever NewsBreaks, website creation are some of my kids favs #Prosper4ward

A3 evidently you can show this video because my daughter assures me you can show videos like https://t.co/R3lF3tQgTD My 5th grade loves the rotation/revolution song #Prosper4ward
A3: Pretend the interactive board is a normal projector screen with no touch features. Touch boards were great a few years ago but they tether the teacher to the front and encourage teacher-centered instruction. Want to be more student centered? Ignoring the board! #Prosper4ward
A3: Digital Menus and choice boards are great! Give students the freedom to learn how they want, and to show you that learning in a way that suits their style. Its amazing what students will do when you put the tools in their hands! #Prosper4ward
A3: if you want to be more student centered...ask the students what their interests are! Having students locate a problem in the world and devise a solution is always worthwhile! #Prosper4ward
A3: Giving students a CHOICE on how they would like to demonstrate their learning is powerful!! I would encourage teacher B to try @Seesaw! It allows students to choose how they want to show what they know! #Prosper4ward#seesawbandwagon
A3: "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Been Franklin had it figured out! Let the kids learn by DOING! #glaciers#erosion#Prosper4ward
A3 Teacher B would probably love student designed assignments. Tell the students what basic information you need them to know and have THEM design the learning experience for another class period. #Prosper4ward
Samantha Cates @ PHS (sorry late just left bible study). I went to a great seminar this summer about alternatives to lecture- getting kids to think outside of the box with small chunks of information vs. everything they might ever need to know. #Prosper4ward
A3: Put a zipper on it. Your kids probably already know a lot of the things you are going to say. If their job is to sit there and be quiet, learning isn’t taking place. Facilitate great discussion. #Prosper4ward
I think @MandyatSchool and I already discussed this! We are meeting tomorrow and we will devise an excellent plan. But how can I help @MandyatSchool spread the tech love?? #Prosper4ward
A3: Debates work for any subject. Use Ss interest to design lessons. Take Ss surveys to discover learning styles, preferences, and challenges. #Prosper4ward
A3 Flip the classroom, post videos of vital instruction, helps limit the lecture. Then let them choose for project google site portfolios and iMovie are great non-slides options #prosper4ward
Q4: Great person to brainstorm with for ideas; helps troubleshoot potential problems and give ideas for providing structure for the roll-out; comes in when we need her and always a phone call/txt away. Thanks for being awesome @MandyatSchool#Prosper4ward
I have done it twice! It works great- of course it can't be for a grade since they are all doing something different in every class, but they love it and DANNNNG do they master the material AND get practice with tech tools. #prosper4ward
Ah thanks! Keep doing what you are doing! You are already an inspiration for other teachers. You have really helped your team try some new techy things this year. Thanks! #Prosper4ward
For me, I’m wanting to utilize GAFE to make both my students and my life easier. Not just re-doing a worksheet into a digital assignment but using it in a totally new way. #teachmeohwiseones#Prosper4ward
A4 this was the hardest question... honestly idk @MandyatSchool is seriously ALWAYS there to help and bounce ideas off of. I️ guess clone yourself so we can have two of you? #prosper4ward
A4: I am always interested in trying out new creation tools for my students to use during there projects. Swing by my shack and give my student and I some new ideas. #prosper4ward
I'm late to the party (😔), but I'd recommend this resource to Teacher B! So many great ways to encourage wonder and cultivate that intrinsic desire to learn! #Prosper4ward@Stephharvey49@smokeylit
A4 I am still in the market for an online "chat room" option where kids can "discuss" live like a chat. It's https://t.co/akskirdWMG. to see how the shy kid in the room will ROCK a chat-discussion. #Prosper4ward
