A1- depending on the standard or skill, I like to use a learning log the students have created.

A1 I rely a lot on inclusive class discussions to gather formative assessment. Ss expanding on each other's ideas informs me.

A1: for me, a good first step was sorting responses into "got it" "kinda got it" "don't got it"

A1 I have my own notes tools to store & refer to data, look for trends, then ask myself abt my practice

Do you have conferences with students or do they also create a log at all?

I agree, find that is a great way to also build collab & relatshps, very helpful, new ideas emerge

A1 I like things in the moment, moving forward, going deeper, making connections, & reflecting back. Never one-and-done.

Purposeful grouping is big in LAUSD. Using intention, strategy, & support for the best groups. Scholarship, not socializing.

Just having the data and being able to pinpoint what Ss' are struggling with gives me clues to how and what to reteach

A3-our school uses a spectrum, not meeting is lowest and must be re-assessed.

A3: We as a grade team compared progress on specific standards/skills to build off of approaches

A3 Less about reteaching & more about reinforcing, revisiting, & Ss reflecting. More learning thru connections & cohesion.

A3p2: data is useless if it is not utilized, a big pet peeve of mine

A3 focus or pinpoint skill deficit for quick purposeful reteach before intervention becomes necessary

It's good that you guys have systems in place. Is Ss mastery compared across teachers? resources shared?

A3-con't - Individual work is recorded and reflections tell teachers what students know and need work on.

I have often stepped back to allow Ss to step in if they weren't already, they are amazing
