    Spend 15 minutes in one class session practicing the routine of getting into and out of groups. It is a tough workout for them, hence desk Olympics. They love the challenge of 20 seconds and each transition becomes a game where the try to improve on their time. #EdutopiaChat

    A3: if possible, I find it best to find a way for the student to get some space. When the dust has settled, the child is more available to speak to what was going on. It also helps me to reflect on what was going on. #EdutopiaChat

    One other thing I've learned is that the first few minutes of class when students walk in is CRUCIAL. All it takes is eye contact and a sincere hello. If they know you're happy to see them, everything comes easier when it comes to learning #EdutopiaChat

    My last final thought...when I have a terrible class period and the Ss have made me angry, I sit on it. I don’t punish immediately. Then, I think about what they probably need. And it’s probably something positive. So I write a note to them saying what they do well #EdutopiaChat

    A5 choice/comfort means creating environments - learning spaces- that are flexible. kids have different learning paths as choices 2 accomplish work as a T said - “simply letting a student stand up to work meant him staying in class all period for the first time” #EdutopiaChat
