A2 Blank Check Id offer scissors, scraps, rulers, markers, crayons, tongue depressors, ice cream sticks, legos, uber stix, any and everything one could think of as a tool or material as well as an Ipad or laptops as well. Also video and sound recording capabilitiy. #LATICchat
The sound/video is important. I had student use green screen and stop motion to show their solutions for genetic modifications and mitosis/meiosis #LATICchat
A2: I would love a collection of "stuff" that could serve many purposes... model, play, design... both physical supplies and varied technology. #LATICchat
A3 Inspire S's to reach for solutions that are otherwise deemed to far to reach or true crazy to try. Thats how S's feel supported to innovate and create change. #LATICchat
Q2. Thinking beyond paper & popsicle sticks for next year. These kids want 3D Models! Ss leave me #makerspace wish lists every week for projects they are working on. I scrounge up what I can and they bring from home, too!#LATICchat

A4 #LATICchat even though our school doesn't have an official Makerspace, I like to believe that the world around you is a Makerspace if you let it be. Let the people around you become members of your team and remember that innovation doesn't happen in isolation. Be collaborative
A4 seek S' fellow T's and TA's input on your makerspace - perhaps have them similar yet different in different rooms to provide S's a wider scope to wield instead of a cookie cutter experience or tool in every room. #LATICchat
A4 I think that’s where the task statement comes in. If Ss are all working on solving an authentic problem that they are vested in they can work together to try and craft a real solution. I think the maker space adds another level of empowerment from plan to product #LATICchat

A5 I think adding maker spaces to our ALUs will just make them more authentic and allow Ss to really see the power of the design process. It will build skills and let them put their growth mindsets to work #LATICchat

A6 maker spaces bring the process to life. It gives Ss a place and the tools to really simulate their designs and then also reinforcers the need and power of revisions and redesign #LATICchat

A6 Makerspaces should allow for S's in different stages of the design process to utilize it and make dreams reality. Not a static or rigid space with rigid or strict rules. Free your hands and your mind will follow. #LATICchat

A7 My personal kids learn so much math and science in our basement maker space. As they are building their Youtube channels, they are also learning about listening and speaking and how to communicate their why #LATICchat

A7 if the makerspace is linked to the ALU and even the Rubric it will naturally encourage academic progress by furthering the felt need to explore and learn what is necessary for the solutions of their design. #LATICchat
As you know, its not about the stuff, just in how you use it... sounds like MakerSpaces and #transformationaltechnology have much in common with building #SEL in Ss #LATICchat
