    A1: Read Alouds are also critical! At a minimum we do one picture book every day, and we have a chapter book too. #g2great

    A6: Have a group called Reading Ambassadors (4th and 5th graders). They have selected books for read alouds for grades PreK-3 in our school. They are also going in & reading to the Ss. Time to rd creates reading love. #g2great

    #g2great I pushed for $ to be allocated to classroom librarires in all K-5 classes at our school for new budget. Our amazing principal was successful in getting approval and has earmarked a little extra for our grade level. Now need to decide best way to spend $. Poetry is a gap.

    I love his books! Thank you for exposing your kids to his work and reading aloud to them. I think we should be reading to kids at every grade level. It increases their reading interests, exposes them to new authors/genres, improves their vocabularies, and models fluency. #G2Great

    A8 more and more I invite students to self-evaluate and when the work is in groups, debrief. Important for students to see their progress and know it’s ok to need support—more from themselves. Assessment ideally needs to come from student for them to to be independent. #g2great

    #g2great A9 Our school has had PLC's (communities) for last few yrs by grade level. It's a scheduled time to talk about kids - strengths & weaknesses. It's all about the kids. We are also sharing ideas in monthly STEM and Humanities groups w/school wide initiatives. Good stuff.

      A8: I find constant assessment really useful in informing my instruction and how I will go about meeting the needs of my individual students. I assess through conversation, casual note taking, and in more formative ways too. #g2great

    A9: Just as it's important for our students as readers, I think choice is important for teachers when it comes to professional learnng. PD is often chosen for you and feels like an obligation or judgement. #G2Great

    A8: I lrn from their answers to open-ended ?'s, narrative responses, written conversations & listening in on grp debriefings. When Ss words & drawings depict their understandings, so much content can be analyzed as well. If I don't understand s/t, I clarify w/ them. #G2great
