Q2 I love using both Facebook and Twitter to keep up on all that goes on in our district. I always hope they really feel the support through the likes even when we can't be everywhere....we sure can celebrate all the greatness that happens in our schools. #K12Talent
  • TaylorZWhitacre Apr 24 @ 9:18 PM EDT
Q3: Our theme is #BeKnown for Greatness. We ask students we interview to write what they want to be known for as a teacher then tweet a collage of their pictures from each college recruiting event #K12Talent

Q4 I have found that a lot of our alumni are getting on facebook when they head off to college. I created a Facebook group for alumni of our GYOT program (Education Academy). It's always fun to interact with them. #K12Talent

Q6: Any Facebook Live users out there? How have you used this effectively? #K12Talent
  • katisettles Apr 24 @ 9:32 PM EDT
A6: I take no credit for this- our district is doing a large bond issue and have seen a ton of engagement from the public through many Facebook lives held at noon and night. So convenient for people in a busy time. Our HR supt @HydeRenee hosted one live from a PTO mtg! #K12Talent
  • TaylorZWhitacre Apr 24 @ 9:34 PM EDT
A6: We've used Facebook Live to connect with our community about an upcoming bond. Our Superintendent had been doing Q&A sessions over lunch to engage with anyone who has questions #K12Talent
  • katisettles Apr 24 @ 9:35 PM EDT
Q7: How have you used social media for professional development with staff? #K12Talent

  • bcwhite Apr 24 @ 9:38 PM EDT

  • katisettles Apr 24 @ 9:40 PM EDT
Q8: Are you using social media to promote programs within your staff such as wellness and informational sessions? #K12Talent
  • katisettles Apr 24 @ 9:44 PM EDT
A5 I love celebrating when we hire new staff. We joked with Sam here that he is so popular he almost broke our Twitter! We try and tag the school and note things like him being an alumni and a student teacher. #K12Talent
  • katisettles Apr 24 @ 9:45 PM EDT
Q9. What resources can you share or any final words of wisdom you’d like to provide on today’s topic. #K12Talent

A7 Occasionally will share an article and do some retweeting but could do better in this aspect. I also keep a prove Facebook group for our new teachers to connect with each other and ask questions. #K12Talent
