A1. Depends whos playing 3 or 1. Like to double the athletic one and cutoff the slug.
#zonefballchat
CoachDMsBeard
Mar 2 @ 8:18 PM EST
A1 To me it really doesn't matter. It's still a stretch block in the front and 2 doubles. Aiming pint is the same for RB
#zonefballchat
CoachDMsBeard
Mar 2 @ 8:18 PM EST
A1 RB is still gonna bend it bounce it or bang it to the 3 or the shade.

A1) no preference, our IZ is similar to auburns where we will fold backside if needed
#zonefballchat
CoachSMartin
Mar 2 @ 8:20 PM EST
A1 like to run to both but love to a 3 because of the cutback possibilities on the shade if we ca t overtake!

Mar 2 @ 8:20 PM EST
With the zone it allows to focus on attacking/avoiding players vs what they are aligned in.
#zonefballchat
slade248
Mar 2 @ 8:20 PM EST
Q1 it really depends on who is weaker the 1 or 3, we like to double the stud and work the cut off the weaker defender.
#zonefballchat

Mar 2 @ 8:21 PM EST
A1 I like the angles better to 3tech.

better be great on the backside combo if your gonna run it to a shade though!

A1) Depends on the quality of each player but all things even I like it to the 3. Cleaner release for BS tkl on LB for read

A2. The mike is ID'd and picked up with the C/G combo
#zonefballchat
Coach_Timmerman
Mar 2 @ 8:27 PM EST
A2) Currently toying with this. Interested to hear from others. Thinking count LB first. So PS LB is 0 and BS LB is -1

CoachPettinato
Mar 2 @ 8:27 PM EST
A2: We tell our kids it's a zone play. You're blocking an area. Not a man. Take and trust your steps and block what shows

A2 We use a count system. Center has the 0 closest defender to him. G1, T2, TE/H3.
#zonefballchat
CoachSMartin
Mar 2 @ 8:28 PM EST
A2 We teach tracks so we don't worry about it, helps cause we nascar 95% of the time, never know where they will align!

Q2 We use Oregon count system.
#zonefballchat
CoachDMsBeard
Mar 2 @ 8:36 PM EST
This is our system. If a FS comes into the box we go MDM. If they have a slug backside we will let him go and get FS and LB
#zonefballchat
CoachDMsBeard
Mar 2 @ 8:38 PM EST
that is one of the downsides. We still teach zone not man, but that is most likely the man they will block.

A3) Quick pop pass to backside TE or slot receiver in the seam where the backside LB just left to fill for IZ action
#zonefballchat
WheresTheCeph
Mar 2 @ 8:46 PM EST
A2. We usually designate that PSLB as the 1 if there's a 3 PS and a stacked LB because he's still most likely to fill there
