Let's welcome each other! I'm Rachel, currently a STEM Teacher in MN. Our theme is "Go for the Gold!" https://t.co/yIJfnQF8Em
-
I'm Shelly a Library Media Specialist in Green Bay Wi, The theme for my libraries this year is JOY!
-
Hooray Shelly! So glad you could join us tonight! Joy is literally my middle name! :)
-
Q2: Since we're talking about blessings tonight, please share one blessing you've experienced so far this yr https://t.co/PWF0eCVvkH
-
A2: I would have to say that having both a supportive administration and faculty members is a huge blessing!
-
Q2 The people I met at my conference this summer are my blessing, They are encouraging each other and helping when anyone has a ?
-
Q2 and two great faculties to work with.
-
Supportive faculty is a big blessing!
-
It was so awesome to meet virtual friends face to face this summer! I agree!
-
I made many friends and have contacts around the world I can use in the classrooms.
-
A1: Andy Van Weele, principal and teacher at Lord of Life Lutheran in Friendswood, Tx. Our school theme is GO! based on Matt 28
-
-
Welcome, Andy! Glad you can join! Great theme.
-
A2: Another blessing for me would be connections with edus around the world for inspiration. Thank you all! (You know who you are.)
-
Q3: How can we spread the "attitude of gratitude?" Helping kids emit thankfulness for all that they have... https://t.co/S9Mdi2DEIZ
-
We need to show gratitude. If we aren't grateful, the students won't see a need to be.
-
The new phone system was, indeed, installed, and staff trained before the school year started. Whew.
-
Awesome! Welcome to the chat, Gail! :)
-
It really is all about modeling, right? Christ modeled for us, we model for students.
-
Speaking of thankfulness for things during the day, not only in our prayers, shows our attitude for gratitude.
-
(Again, if you join us on Participate, you'll see a nice chat window with just the tweets. No clutter!) https://t.co/1AdsOmGd1U
-
Shelley is right, but we can't model something we aren't living. Sincerity must be there.
-
Q4: Why is it important that we decide to be a blessing to others? (Speaking of modeling gratitude...) https://t.co/rBtOFjLcvg
-
Conscious decisions help keep us accountable for our intentions. Staying in the Word builds us up to do it.
-
A4: I think of the passage in James that says "Faith without works is dead." We show our faith by choosing to serve others.
-
A4 We need to model for the Ss. We need to show how important our faith and being in the word is to our life
-
A4: It's a huge blessing to us to be able to serve the families in our schools and congregations! "Serve one another in love"
-
There is a joy in serving others.
-
Absolutely! Even more so for some personality types. Easy to get burned out, though!
-
You need to keep a balance which is hard to do sometimes.
-
Next question coming up in one minute!
-
Q5: What might be one step you can take to make your classroom or school a better place - starting tomorrow? https://t.co/TaFdlfc879
-
A5 Smile and greet everyone. I think people forget the small gesture of a smile can have a big impact on someone's day
-
A5 let people know you are praying for them.
-
A5: I think tomorrow I will be more intentional with my words and actions. Each day is a new chance to be a blessing to others.
-
And, in the classroom, praying for them during class (or privately) is so special.
-
I knew a teacher who would pick a row a day, sit in each desk and pray for that student
-
Was just going to mention that, Rachel! I tried it one year with a really tough class and it made a huge difference in each day.
-
We get busy and get tunnel vision. I need to remember to stop and see where I can be a blessing
-
So many good reminders from all the responses tonight. Thank you for taking the time to be here; it benefits us all!
-
One last question for the night coming up in just a minute.
-
A5: Sitting at a child's desk after school and trying to visualize and think through their challenges from their perspective
-
We also need to teach the students to pray for each other
-
-
Ideas for Q6: Specific tools or strategies in classes, distinctly Lutheran education, scripture memorization, ChristLight, etc. ...
-
What can we talk about that would be most beneficial to all involved?
-
tools people are using in the classroom, classroom management, I would love to know if anyone has done a breakout edu
-
Awesome! Thank you all for taking your valuable time to join us. Our next chat is Wednesday, October 19 again, at 8:00 PM.
